We were driving through Wyoming stopping in Cody for the night. Being a holiday weekend many hotels were full. The Western 6 Gun had availability, fresh paint, new carpet, bathroom had a new shower and vanity, the bed was very comfortable.  No frills very basic...no coffee maker, refrigerator or microwave, which is fine for a stop over.  Good value for the money.  The office wasn’t open at 6:30 am for coffee, but who likes office coffee anyways! We would stay here again. We did not use a booking company, we used TA for reviews and stopped and spoke with the office directly and got a better rate.  

Clean and Quiet 

It was a very nice hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Our room #8 was clean and the bed was comfortable but it was VERY small. We had a big log swing we sat on outside our door in the evenings. We didn't have a fridge however they always had ice ready & avaiable. I suggest you ask for room# 50 or 51, our friend stayed there and they were HUGE rooms with a fridge.

Privately owned & very clean !

Some room upgrades have kept this place open, but don’t expect too much.  It is good for an overnight, and if you are looking for a bargain.

Pros:  the A/C works, plentiful parking.  Convenient to Walmart and Bubba’s BBQ.
Cons:  few outlets in room, no refrigerator, microwave.  ToniAnn, the front desk clerk from Jamaica was friendly and helpful.

This is a no-frills place.  Don’t expect much, but they do have beds!

Located at the far-end of town, opposite the highway interchanges.

Please tip the housekeepers.  They are foreign and probably don’t get paid much.

A Throwback, Basic, Motel

To be fair, this place is not a hotel.  It is very basic and that will put-off many people.  However, the room was small, but clean. There was little surface area to place things on.  No place to use hangers, no  telephone, no microwave, no refrigerator. There were no electrical plugs on the wall where the bed was.  If you use a Cpap, you will need a 12 foot extension cord.   There is internet, A/C and a television.  We found a broken light switch and an envelope to put a tip in for housekeeping.  

Beautifully Basic

The Western 6 Gun closed for the season after I had already booked a room there. When they did this they gave you the option of cancelling your reservation through Booking.Com or moving to another property at the same rate. I called the Western 6 gun and agreed to move my reservation to another property. Due to the Covid I had to cancel my travel plans and called the hotel that I was moved to. I was told that the reservation would be cancelled without any penalties and that there was nothing else for me to do. On August 1st $120.55 was charged to my debit account by the Western 6 Gun. I called the hotel and explained to them what happened and on August 5th that money was returned to my account. Then on August 18th I was again charged $120.55. I again called the hotel and the person who I spoke with said that she could see all of the transactions and could not explain why I was charged again. She took my phone number and told me that somebody would be contacting me. As of the writing of this I have not been contacted or have had my money refunded. This is getting ridiculous.  My reservation was made through Booking.com. I had no control over the Western 6 Gun closing for the season and my reservation moving to another location by them or my trip being cancelled due to Covid. I feel that I have been patient and have tried to work this out in a way this would be expected by all involved. My next steps will be disputing the charges and filing complaints with the local BBB and any other agency that may facilitate a refund to me.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for one night. I was charged two extra amounts on my credit card which didn't featured on my paid bill. I have emailed the hotel 3 times in attempts to have these 2 bogus payments reversed, to no avail. The rooms were in need of maintenance, especially the bathrooms, no coffee making facilities, no fridge and blinds on the windows, broken allowing people passing by, to see in. The security lighting did not go off and shone in our respective windows throughout the night. In short, don't stay here.
