Absolutely amazing place and fantastic staff. Stumbled upon this place this summer on one of my return trips from Yellowstone. Couldn’t be happier here! The owner and staff are more than accommodating. Great rates, food and views!!! A hidden gem for sure. Extending my stay through the winter. Wildlife in each direction every day with a better variety than Yellowstone sightings so far. Bighorn sheep elk deer daily as close as my back door. The bar and food are amazing and the property is absolutely gorgeous. 

The perfect place

We stayed in RV sure #3. (5 would have been much better). We chose it because of it being "near" the east entrance to Yellowstone. The owner was super nice. Our 3 complaints would be that we had to knock down weeds to get to the electric box, had to share water and had to run our sewer hose under the RV, and finally the dog "kennel" was right next to us. We think we would choose another if we ever visit Yellowstone again. 

Rough around the edges

We stayed here for a night after a long day in Yellowstone. Clean and spacious! Porch with chairs to enjoy a quiet evening star gazing. Restaurant had good food. Fireplace in the back to roast marshmallows and enjoy some local beer or spirits. Staff was so friendly. Told us stories and history about some of the mountains. Took coffee out in the morning to enjoy fabulous views. Great say!

Great room with awesome view

This was one of the best hotel stays on a 4 week tour of central and western USA. The hotel is situated handily for Yellowstone National Park and has it’s own fantastic views and surroundings.
We stayed in one of the lodges (Hunters) which was fantastic value, well equipped with all the facilities we needed. The bedrooms were large for the lodge’s size and were comfy and clean. The lodge price also came with a continental style breakfast pre-prepared in the lodge’s refrigerator.
The hotel boasts an excellent bar and restaurant, which served excellent food and a good range of beers at a reasonable price.
The staff (especially the owner Kenny) couldn’t have been more helpful during our stay. This went as far as liaising with our car hire company when we needed a replacement. The staff went above and beyond what I would have expected.
Would have given 7*’s if possible

Charm, Value & Service above & beyond

I had checked pricing for in park lodging. Then decided to try near East entrance or Cody. We stayed in Sportsman Cabin. Ideal for us able to cook own evening meals on return from park. Also ate at restaurant in lodge, the atmosphere was great and friendly. Loved the provided breakfast basket in the refrigerator. Ideal because we were leaving for the park early each morning.  Also close enough to  Cody if needed something or additonal evening entertainment.

Great location for Yellowstone trip

This is a real gem. Very nice people. The food at their restaurant is so good and the staff is wonderful. Scenery is beautiful. River just behind. Very cozy and clean rooms with a full kitchen. Their is no breakfast so they bring you a breakfast basket full of everything you need. This is the best place we have stayed this trip. Highly recommend it and would come back.

A real gem

Pros- this place is almost as close as you can get to the east entrance of YS. There are a few that are closer, but not by too much. Also, this place is closer to Cody, which is nice if you want to eat or shop. We had the Colter Suite. It was large enough for all 5 of us to be very comfortable, and it was clean. 
Cons- the restaurant is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday so be prepared to cook or drive to Cody. There isn’t anywhere to sit and enjoy the view of the mountains. A couple chairs on the shared porch is all. There’s also nothing at ALL for kids to do so be prepared to not hang out there. P.S. we only had one roll of toilet paper for 5 people for 3 days and nobody was ever available at the desk to get us more.

Decent place for access to YS

The new owners are truly fantastic people; the views from the bar/restaurant are unbeatable. There are kennels on site for dogs traveling with you. A beautiful drive to Yellowstone east gate from Wapiti lodge- and the views of Jim Mountain are incredibly spectacular from the Lodge. You will not be disappointed!

Incredible Lodge/ Amazing Views

We arrived a day early and found out that in May the East gate to Yellowstone (bucket list trip) was closed with 10 feet of snow on bypass.  ...and it’s a 7 hour trip to get to an open gate.  ..now I know why we didn't see many reviews for this time of year.  We requested a cabin but got a nice room with kitchen set up instead.  
They were very nice.    but, It was all Extremely disappointing.  They also mentioned several others Visitors that were there were very upset because the advertised gate that was 30 min away was closed until the end of May.

No Yellowstone gate access until the end of May

The lodge setting is picture perfect with great accommodations. The lodge staff was super and friendly. They went out of their way to help us. The food and drinks were amazing. Thank you Kenyon, Beth, Dakota and Olivia! Good luck! JB
