I'll echo most of the other reviews.  This is a great place to sleep.  Nice, big, comfortable rooms.  Clean.  Very (!) affordable.  Pleasant staff.  Easy parking.  Very quiet.  Now, this is not a 5 star hotel-don't expect it to be.  It's a very nice & very affordable place to stay in Clinton

An excellent experience

I stay here once or twice a year when visiting family. The staff is always helpful, the rooms are always clean, and the motel is always quiet. In addition, there are restaurants and shopping within walking distance which make it easy to purchase groceries and/or order food. The fridge and microwave provided in the room are an excellent benefit.  Lastly, I recommend that you take a nice walk to Clinton Town Beach for a sunrise or sunset. The view is spectacular. 

Little Gem

This is an economical choice in a coastal Connecticut town that doesn’t compromise on cleanliness. Decor is not luxurious bur pleasant and bright. Bathroom is fresh with plenty of supplies, bedding is comfortable and inviting. Mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker are useful extras. This motel is superior to many in its price range - a great find.

If CLEAN is important no matter the price…

When I opened the door to my hotel room the stench almost made us walk out. I can’t quite put into words what the smell was. Old, musty, and it highly smelt of cat pee.
The room looks straight out of the 1980s. Very outdated furniture and rug. The bathroom did look clean. The bed was huge. And the bed was very comfortable. The bed was the only reason we stayed. For $100 a night, I would have opted out for a hotel for a bit more money.

Needs Work

We were camping in a tent at Hammonasset Beach State Park and major storms were predicted through the night, so we decided to sleep in a hotel!  This motel was perfect.  Nice and roomy, beds were comfortable and the room was clean. They also had a pool - which we didn't use due to the lightning in the area.  We were already familiar with the Clinton area and a major plus for this motel is it is right in the center of an amazing town with lots to do and see!

Great stay in a great location!

Place is great staff very accommodating clean rooms stayed 5 days loved everything about it. Going back again tomorrow..5 stars all linen clean very comfortable bed bath room updated tv iron microwave fridge ice .

Standard sized motel room that's clean, pleasant, and has a microwave, small refrigerator and comfortable bed(we had a king size bed).  It's affordable and convenient and quiet considering it is on route 1.

Pleasant stay

We were returning for a second visit here. First time, less than a year ago we had much larger room for much less money.  We were told they put us in a “non smoking room.” As soon as we opened the door to the room, the smell was so horrendous we knew that could not be accurate. From what we can tell at this small motel (16 rooms), it’s a non smoking room only if non smokers are staying in it. Everyone else we saw on property was smoking. Very disappointing after our first positive experience.

Really Disappointing Second Visit

We stayed as a group of friends taking 2 rooms. The hotel is small but quaint. The rooms were spacious with a mini fridge and microwave. Each room was slightly different in appliance style and bedding that made it all the more unique. Very clean rooms. Loved all the windows to see the beautiful surroundings. The hotel is fairly central to local shops, restaurants, and activities.
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped into the lobby. All of us agreed we would stay at this hotel again.

Friendly, clean, and comfy

We stayed here for the second time as we have family in the area.  There is a refrigerator and microwave.  The living space is great.   The staff was excellent! We felt very comfortable here. We will definitely stay here again!
