I have 2 complaints, the first is with reservations.com who steered me to this Motel 6 when they were sold out of other properties in the region for the night 6 May 2022. I booked 2 pre-paid rooms with them, one for my spouse and me, the other for our daughter and her husband.

When I checked in, the desk staff indicated that only 1 room was booked. Expecting a clerical error, I paid Motel 6 for the second room, at a higher rate than booked through reservations.com.

Reviewing my credit card accounts, I noted that reservations.com had charged me for the 2 rooms and Motel 6 had charged me again for the second room. I alerted customer service at reservations.com and the Vernon Motel 6 and they each blamed the other for the error. Both service reps hung up on me when I pushed back about who was responsible for the double billing. I suspect fraud on the Motel 6 side.

The conditions of the hotel and the rooms were terrible. My daughter and husband had to move rooms because the first had holes in the wall and smelled. Both rooms were filthy and to add insult to injury, my wife and I, for the first times in our lives, were bitten by bed bugs in room 256 as listed in a previous review. 

Reservations.com had no sympathy for my complaint and should be avoided for supporting a fraudulent supplier. They got their money and that is all they cared about. The staff at Motel 6 were rude and quickly hung up on me as I pressed them about the double billing. 

I will never use reservations.com again and urge everyone to boycott Motel 6 because of this fraudulent franchise holder. My wife and I are traumatized by the bedbugs.

The worst hotel/motel experience of my life!!!

The only reason I put 1 star was because there wasn't a zero star option. My Wife and I stayed 1 night here just to rest our heads for the night, while we were on the way to Maine for work. We had just laid our head down at 3am and all of a sudden there's screaming and human growling and items being thrown  coming from the man across the hall from our room. it sounded like appliances being thrown at the door and walls. We were scared, not gonna lie, of the clearly mentally unstable and aggressive person across the hall. We called the front desk from our room to see if the kid working up front could get him to stop or call the police. IT WAS THAT BAD!!! The Kid at the front didn't want to do anything and then stated, "he is in his room that he paid for, I cant do anything about what he's doing in there." Even though THEIR MOTEL ROOM WAS BEING DESTROYED!!!!  We requested to move rooms if he wasn't going to do anything about it. He changed our room, after he urged that our last room was the very last room available for that night. So we thought it was odd immediately when a room just suddenly became available. So when we wake up today, the same motel is trying to charge my card $500 it was declined. Then another attempt of $400. We called the Motel and said it was a mistake. our room was only $91.99 not $500 and not $400. The Manager then said that we were in the room that got destroyed and I told him that we were in the room across the hall and I have the receipt to prove it. He then started calling My wife "a F******g B**** and that he's going to get his money for his motel damages because we demolished the room." I called Corporate to file a claim and dispute, and the associate even saw in their system that the SLIMEY WORKERS at this Motel 6 Changed our room number after we checked out of our room. HE CHANGED OUR ROOM NUMBER TO THE DEMOLISHED ROOM NUMBER AFTER WE CHECKED OUT!!!!!!!!!! So they are in the process of getting it disputed. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! YOU WILL BE SCAMMED. IF YOU DO STAY HERE, MAKE SURE YOU PAY CASH OR ELSE THEY WILL WRONGFULLY CHARGE YOUR CARD IF YOU DO NEED TO STAY HERE. THE POLICE WILL NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT IS A "CIVIL MATTER"

Scam Artist Alert!!!! PLEASE READ FUTURE CUSTOMERS!!

rooms disgusting, holes in walls covered with tape, black mold on bathroom ceiling, microwave doesnt work. fridge barely cools. internet works occasionaly.  homeless people sleeping in the the rear hall way. not worth the 100.00 have been in nicer and safer for less went to front desk and he said it was our problem not his

Stayed at this hotel the last week of July in room number 256 and was bitten 56 times by bed bugs!!! Unbelievable!! Beware of this hotel! Not to mention the cockroaches that ran up and down the wall in the middle of the day!

BEDBUGS!!!

Rooms are NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS! The hallways smell to cigarrettes. The new owner Zee is very aggressive and was often heard on the hallway screaming. There was a party next to my room the night I stayed over with my husband and two children and noone slept because of the loud music and chattering. It was him and friends partying. I would recommend you look the other way if you need a room and somewhere to rest your head! Do not stay here. Not worth it.

Unsafe, terrible rooms

The only reason im putting one star is because I can't put zero. 1st of this places has roaches like crazy. We stayed in a room that had a faulty sink and bath tub it ended up flooding the room. Instead of giving us another room they just sent it a couple of guys with dollar store mops to come clean up the water. Then, the sink would leak endlessly and we would call the front desk about it only to be brushed off and told someone would be back to fix it but no one ever came. Then the manager charged us extra for "damage to the room" that should've been condemned so no one could stay there. Also he claimed my 2 dogs who I take out on schedule every day pee'd and it made the room not rentable. I tried to tell him it was probably from the water that flooded the room. But he already had his mind made up and made my dogs the scapegoat. He then blamed my dogs and told me they couldn't stay in the room because they made it stink. All in all this place is something else they have the lowest rates for a reason. Then he told me if I wanted to stay I would have to pay for room remodeling and in total it would cost 6,000$. People argue and fight at this hotel and nothing is ever done. The maids don't speak any english and are afraid of dogs no matter the size and they wont come clean your room if u have one. This place has a lot of shaping up to do. Its ridiculous that the manager argues with guests like he is a child. He doesn't believe in the customer is always right. This is hands down the worst hotel i have ever stayed in i would beg u to stay somewhere else before coming here

The worst hotel the worst manager

The accommodations as shown on the Motel 6 website for this location were a misrepresentation of those that were actually delivered.  I would never stay here again, nor recommend anyone stay here.

When we first walked into the lobby, we had our masks on as requested by the signs on the front door.  The desk clerk who checked us in was friendly and also had a mask on, but the other employee did not have a name tag or a mask on.  Before taking over our check-in, he was yelling at two other customers (who may have caused some trouble and were being kicked out).  This should have been our first sign to leave.

The hallway outside our room had a musty smell and debris was in front of several doors.  This hallway was not like the one that was on the website.  One door had a home-made 'Do Not Disturb' sign taped on it, and we soon figured out why: our room also did not have a sign to hang outside.  At first glance we noticed that the floors were not very clean (there were spots that looked like someone spilled something liquid that had dried) and that the bathroom also had not been cleaned well.  There were also various issues in the room like a smoke detector that was off the wall and without batteries, a stained ceiling, and a broken peep hole.  The bed looked okay, but it wasn't exactly what was pictured on the website.  Additionally, there was no larger chair (like on the website).  We decided to stay anyways because we had an early morning and just wanted to get some sleep.

When we showered in the morning, we were disgusted to see baby cockroaches in and around the bathroom.  The area under the sink was clearly in disrepair, leading to a very large opening for any pests to enter the room.  The water was also discolored in the shower, and the anti-slip tape on the tub was filthy.  We also noticed the intake fan was covered with dust, which is likely why it didn't work well enough to remove the moisture in the air (we didn't dare look under the ceiling tiles to see how much mold would be growing there as a result!). 

Upon leaving our room, we shut the door and, out of habit, checked to make sure it locked behind us.  It did not.  I was able to jiggle the door open repeatedly until it was finally locked.  This prompted us to remove our valuables (like a computer and our backpack) and take them with us.  Never, in all the places I have stayed, have I ever felt I needed to do this.

When we came back later that day to the room, we began to really take stock as to how bad of a room it was.  There were holes in the ceiling near the window where something may have once hung.  The windows themselves slid open, but there was no lock on them and therefore could easily be slid open from the outside.  The blanket on the bed had stains, and a full-sized adult roach scurried out of our suitcase (which was on a stand!!) and back behind the furniture.  Due to the discoloration, we didn't trust the tap water so we drove to a nearby gas station to purchase a gallon of potable water.  We left as early as we could the next morning.

In retrospect, we should have left the first night, but we had no idea the extent to which our security, health, and safety would be compromised.  Our accommodations were terrible, and they did not align with the experience of this hotel as advertised.

I have reached out to Motel 6 for a full refund, but have yet to receive a response.  If I still do not have a response, I will file an official BBB complaint because no tenant, no matter how 'budget' the hotel, should feel unsafe in their own room.

Unsafe, unhealthy, and unsecured

Walls are pairs thin, I hear everything. The place is 1/2 star at best.  I don’t want to touch anything.  King size bed is nice but who wouldn’t like one. Has an odor as well.  I would not recommend this motel.

Do not recommend

We had a family emergency and did see that the motel only had 2.5 stars. But we booked it anyway because I don’t usually mind a non-fancy beat down motel. But that doesn’t mean it has to be dirty. We arrived around 11pm on 10/05/18 and were greeted by a very customer service-oriented employee. He told us that unfortunately we couldn’t get the room we had requested because sometimes their system doesn’t read the full online reservation. I didn’t really mind because it he told us to check in the morning so we could switch rooms since we had the reservation for 2 nights. The 1st room which was non smoking smelled like cigarettes and was extremely dirty. But we were extremely exhausted and just went to bed. In the morning I wanted to shower before asking to switch rooms but noticed the tub was also disgusting. So I decided to just ask for the new room since I figured maybe we just got a bad room. Then we were moved into our second room. This is were I realized the hygiene was just overall gross! There was hair on the bathtub and hair on the bed. Obviously, this told me that the sheets were not changed. I went to the bathroom and realized there were only 2 towels in bathroom and NO TOILET PAPER! I called the front desk to asked for towels and toilet paper. 1hr later I call back down since we still didn’t receive anything and was told I gave the wrong room number and I now had to come down and get them. I went to get the towels and was given 1 normal towel and the other 2 were the small towels to step on. The guy didn’t even say a word to me and seemed frustrated because I was asking for things. Even when I said thank you he didn’t even say you’re welcome. NO WORDS. I noticed he didn’t even give me toilet paper and at this point I was fearful of his reaction, so we used napkins until we went to buy some toilet paper ourselves. This had to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had. STAY AWAY! NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL.

Terrible Experience

After reading some of the reviews on here I was prepared for a not so great Motel6, when I got to the property I drove around and wasn’t too impressed, it looks like it was a nice hotel at one time, We went in and the lobby was ok, but knowing the rooms might not be that great and issues others had with refunds I asked to see the room first before checking in. As we walked down the hall it got less appealing and there was an odd scent, got to the room opened the door and it was horrible. Now we had my dog traveling with us and I don’t know if this is why we were assigned this room but the headboard had been chewed with a huge hole in the leather of the headboard, the chair was all ripped up, the desk was in pretty bad shape too, the room smelled very moldy. Needless to say I went back down to the front desk and told the very polite lady that the room wouldn’t t work, she was very understanding as I’m sure she gets a lot of compliments about the condition of the hotel. I feel bad for the employees as it’s not their fault that the owner doesn’t do any up keep. Maybe if you’re not traveling with a pet you might get a better room. My advise is check the room before giving your credit card.
