All was ready Nd clean snd staff was courteous snd friendly. Wifi and cable worked well. Quiet easy stay. Plenty of hot water. Nice view of beautiful lake otsego. (Glimmerglass). Classic old style motel. 

Good staff clean room quiet

I had a reservation for two rooms, but unfortunately a medical issue landed me in the hospital for those dates.  The motel refused to issue a refund, not even a credit, because I had not cancelled ten days in advance.

No refund.

Reservations were made a week before our planned stay at the Hickory Grove Motor Inn in Cooperstown, NY for the two nights--July 1 and July 2.   But just prior to our intended arrival, my husband and I tested positive for COVID.  We called to cancel and were told we would be losing all our money ($490!!) and that we could not rebook for another date either.  

WE SENT HICKORY GROVE MOTOR INN A PHOTO OF OUR POSITIVE COVID TESTS TAKEN THAT DAY.  

Hickory Grove Motor Inn  does not care if guests arrive at their property knowing they have active cases of COVID.  So, do they care for the well-being of their guests?

We booked through Travelocity who also attempted a refund for us, but the property would not agree to any kind of adjustment or refund.

Are You Going to be safe from COVID at the Hickory Grove Motor Inn?

Terrible all the way. The room smelled of
mold and mildew. Went and asked at the
office if there was a better room and the
gal said they were all like that. I ended up
go to my car during the night because my
throat was swelling up and I couldn't
breath. I even tried to sleep in the room
with a face mask on. In the morning I
asked to talk to the manager and he of
course was unavailable. She left
messages for him, and after me calling
every other day for a week, he still has not
called me back. Would NOT stay here for anything

HORRIBLE

Complete bait and switch. There is really no lake access and is certainly NOT lake front.  You have to walk hundreds of feet thru and  past private property down a steep hill to access only about fifty feet of rocky beach. More appropriate at $75 a night, NOT the $200 current rate. Don’t be fooled, find another accommodation!!

Complete Misrepresentation

WiFi barely works, and there is little to no cell service in the area. Lake is accessed via a batch of grass down the road and down a hill. There is one single four person paddle boat available. Shower barely fits a normal sized adult. Room smelled musty.

This place is a basic motel with very clean room pleasantly furnished. Staff are very helpful and friendly. As others have said shower is small but I am a big guy and had no issues. There was no cell phone service using AT&T. Motel has Wi-Fi but It wasn’t fast. TV was a flat screen with some cable channels. Overall pleasant but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here.

Friendly Clean Motel

We found this place by accident on our trip to Cooperstown. It is a really nice place to stay. Not elaborate but clean and comfy with a very friendly and helpful staff happy to assist with area information or anything else requested of them. Two 60 something  Illinois couples loved this place.

Loved this place

I was looking for something inexpensive to spend the night, and came across this inn. It had good reviews, so I booked it. It's easy to get to. It's very clean, which is huge. As others stated, the shower is super small, but it's big enough to take a shower. I'm only giving 4 stars, because the pillows were the hardest I've ever had to sleep on. When we go back, I'll know to bring my own pillow.

Good spot

Nothing but good. The room is very clean. Staff is friendly. I really have no complaints. My travels won't bring me back, otherwise I'd stay here again. The room matches or exceeds the price point they have.
