There are a few things one needs to know before booking.
1)  There is no bathroom on the first floor
2)  Kitchen is a "summer kitchen," and is narrow.  Only one person at a time can really "work" in the kitchen.  There is a bench at the long table and if you are sitting there, you have to move so that someone can open the refrigerator.
3)  The bathrooms are not handicapped accessible.  You need a footstool to get in the tub and another to get out  with someone helping you. Not a pretty picture.  
A very pretty house in a nice location, but not good for elderly.  Only the young and fit could walk to town.

Visiting Cooperstown for the Dreams Park baseball with family members

We, along with two other families, rented the house for our sons' baseball tournament. It wasn't until one week prior to our arrival that we were informed that the owner - Karen - was required by a town ordinance to stay at the house with us. All in all, she was relatively non-intrusive, but I don't feel she is honest at all. For starters, we would NEVER have rented the house if we'd known she was required to be there (that's conveniently left out of the description of the house). Secondly - and this is my major complaint - she deducted $100 of our security deposit because she claimed we "lost" a power charging cord for the cordless vacuum. In fact, it was still in exactly the same place SHE put it when the last family left, AND she charged us for knives she claims we took (because they were put back in the cutlery tray rather than the knife block). Karen isn't the brightest bulb - she has poor communication skills and if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have chosen this property for our trip.

Questionable

Stayed during World Series.  Not handicap accessible.  No bathroom on first floor. Bathtubs are all pedestal, difficult to get in and out.  My husband could not use the shower all week.  Owner felt free to walk through at any time. She is a helicopter landlord. We thought we were renting the house by ourselves, not sharing with her. NO DISHWASHER!!  We had 8 people using the house and had to hand wash all dishes.  Location is nice, directly across from the Otesaga Hotel.

Not a good choice

I was told that I was renting the entire INN, not realizing that the owner would be on the premises.  Walking into the house whenever she wanted, cameras in every room and her peaking through the window shades whenever we were outside. The owner was rude and, in my humble opinion, with 22 years of mental health experience, a little off her meds. We told her we had to leave because of a death in the family and she said, "That's too bad. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year." Refusing to even give us a small compensation PLUS short changing our deposit after we only stayed 3 days out of the weekly rental.  I wouldn't stay there for free.

Over 30 years of vacation rentals and my worst experience.

The pension is in a beautiful, typical Cooperstown house, close to the Farmer's museum and the Fenimore Art Museum which has an impressive collection of Native American objects. The rooms are spacious, the beds have good mattresses, there's TV and a powerful AC and the best thing of all is the homemade breakfast. Delicious scrambled eggs with turkey crispy bacon, a rich bowl of fruits, pancakes... Karen is a very friendly host and she really knows about the needs of her guests.

*Please note that I was unable to choose the correct month and year I stayed here, as TripAdvisor only gave dates over the past year as options. My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon in early August of 2006, only days after the Hall of Fame induction. We were taking a road trip across New York state, and being a life-long baseball fan, my husband requested that part of our trip be devoted to Cooperstown. When booking through our travel agent at AAA, we were given many options, and almost went with what we would ordinarily choose for hotel accommodations, (a Holiday Inn Express), but opted instead to try one of the many B&B's that Cooperstown has to offer. I am so happy we went with the Green Apple Inn! When we arrived midday at the inn, there was a sign welcoming us, and our room key was left out for us to find. I'd done my research beforehand, and specified that we wanted the Granny Smith Room, which featured a lovely antique canopy bed, and an attached bathroom with a clawfoot tub and little homemade soaps that smelled like green apples. At night, we cracked open a window and had absolutely our best night's sleep during our entire trip. In the morning, we joined an older couple, (who had been staying in another room), in the enclosed porch for a homemade breakfast, courtesy of the B&B's owner, who, incidentally, was absolutely warm and welcoming. Although we spent only a day or two there, (the rest of our trip was spent in Niagra Falls and Manhattan), our stay in Cooperstown was absolutely our favorite part, and we have the Green Apple Inn to thank for that. I hope we'll have the chance to stay there again someday.
