This BNB is a wonderful surprise tucked away in town. I initially planned to stay just one night but decided to stay over another because I absolutely loved my stay. I came into town for a fishing trip alone so the room was more than sufficient. I was most impressed by Kate's hospitality. She is a great host and engages with all her guests. I had the most wonderful conversation with her exchanging life stories. I am not going to think too long about where I will stay in Copper Center when I head back from my next fishing trip in the coming year.

Wonderful stay at Kate's

We had reservations here in July. I had booked a mobile home. When we arrived, we were shown to an old bus that smelt like diesel and bug spray. It was over 100 degrees in the bus and there was not even a fan in it. The only bathroom was a porta potty. Everything was sprayed down with homeguard and smelt terrible. I tried to communicate with them that my husband suffers from migraines and could not stay in this type of setting but they did not return my phone calls or answer my messages. As of today, I am out $300 to this place. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Trip to Alaska

I paid $185 for a reservation here and I believe that it was terribly misrepresented. I had to forfeit that money because I just could not stay here. We were expected to sleep in an old school bus. It was hot as an oven inside, dusty, and just represented a place a did not want to be! There is no plumbing. One porta-potty serves the whole place. There is an outdoor shower. I thought I had booked a "mobile home" because that is what was printed on my reservation. This school bus may have at one time been mobile but it certainly is not a home! Where I come from, homeless people sleep in old school buses. Kate may be a nice person but I did not meet her. You can try to be too kitchy. We went down the road and rented a dry cabin for $75 and were quite satisfied.

Run, run as fast as you can away from here!

We did a stop over on our way from Fairbanks to the NP and Valdez. it can be seen on Google that it is on the way on a small village, but that was no issue at all.

The host was very friendly and check in was uncomplicated. The style of the house is very nice.

Only thing to note is that the rooms are quite small (but it is OK), but so are the beds. I filtered for a 2 person room and even if it is doable - you have literally to share the space on the bed.

However, the breakfast was absolutely amazing and we would come back.

Nice small place with nice owner

This was a surprise, but a nice one !! Quite small but very quaint with excellent breakfast.
At first we thought we were going to be in a caravan, but it turned out we were actually in the house. The town itself has nothing much to offer except fishing. From other guests this was their 3rd trip for just that.

Very different

Very quaint B&B or you can choose to stay in an artistically painted mini camper that's very homey.  Kate the owner can teach Martha Stewart a few things and serves a delicious home cooked breakfast every morning, including sourdough pancakes made from " Mother dough" that's been in her family for generations!  We felt like family after a 2 day stay! Fascinating local pub right next door (closed for the winter) and good local restaurants. Our room was a bit small but charming...or if size matters, request a bigger room.
We were delighted to experience our first Northern Lights during one of the nites we were there.
Definately an experience we'll remember and we are seasoned worldwide travellers!
