I don't have any complaint,  a lot of entertainment for young children and adults too..
the only ..the only thing that this place need to be in 5 starts is to have a deep pool for adults ... all pools are knee level 

very nice place to go in family

I stayed here when my husband was in the hospital. It was a hard time. Ms New York, I think her name was Joanie checked us in. She was so friendly and kind. Extremely helpful with all our questions. My husband passed the next night, Ms New York came around the desk and gave me a hug. She cried with us and made us feel so special. I have never came across someone I did not know who was so sincere and compassionate. I would recommend this hotel and this staff to anyone who comes to Corpus Christi. Exceptional!!

Excellent Customer Service

The photos look great but the hotel is not great.  The rooms have very high ceilings but the a/c system just could not keep the room cool or remove the humidity from the air, even with keeping the blackout curtains drawn.  The music DJs on the 2nd floor balcony outside the pub overuse the bass on the music they play and even though we were at the far end of the hotel on the 3rd floor, the thumping of the bass was annoying.  There is very dim lighting in the bathroom and no makeup mirror.  There are no USB ports in the room.  The only vending machine was out of order all weekend.  The pub on the 2nd floor has one billiards table.  The gaming room is an added expense and there isn't a discount on waterpark tickets so you can easily spend an extra $70/child/day on those added expenses. Those expenses, plus the room expenses, plus the daily resort fee add-on and the overpriced food - it isn't worth it.  On the plus side, the waterpark is small but it isn't busy at all so no long waits, the nighttime movie in the pool is great for kids, and there is plenty of free parking.  Next time we'll stay somewhere else and just pay to visit the waterpark.

Not worth the $$$

Honestly the place was 100 times better with the previous owners. We have visited every summer for the past few years. This year we didn’t even stay. Our room wasn’t ready by 7pm so we cancelled it and stayed elsewhere. They offered nothing in return for the check in delay prior to us cancelling the room. Never in my life has a room not been ready by 3pm much less 7pm at any hotel!!

Room wasn’t ready by 7pm!!

The hotel itself was ok. The walls are very thin so being a family oriented hotel it is very loud. The base rooms are interior only, decently appointed.  Cribs are an additional $15 fee per night which is not mentioned anywhere in the listing, just that you have to contact the front desk prior to arriving to request it. 

Also, the only way to get access to the waterpark with the room is to purchase the package directly from the waves website. We purchased from hotels.com which turned out to be a huge ripoff. Hotels.com listing is very ambiguous and makes it seem like it’s included. It lists waterpark and resort pool as a main amenity. Underneath it adds that there’s a surcharge for waterpark access. We just came from san antonio and the new braunfels Schlitterbahn is about 10 times the size for only $10 more. We didn’t bother purchasing the $40 per person entry as it didn’t seem even close to being worth it. 

That being said, the resort pool was nice with a swim up bar. Great service. Guess that’s what the additional $19.99 resort fee pays for. Smh. 
Early checkin requested ended up being about 33 minutes earlier than the scheduled 4pm checkin. 
We didn’t eat onsite as we read reviews that the food was expensive and nothing special. 
Next time I’d definitely stay at the la quinta down the block for half the price with included buffet breakfast. 
Waves Resort is not worth the steep price at all. Out of our 9 day multi state roadtrip, this was by far the most disappointing stay. 

Very misleading advertising

It still shows Schlitterbahn signs but I don't think it's part of Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels any longer.  Anyway, they won't have to worry about us returning especially after an incident there with a lazy lifeguard.  There is an area on one of the rides that has a strong water outtake protected sort of by metal rods about 10 " apart and a blue rope.  I got sucked into this area and couldn't get out, but lucky enough that I caught the blue rope.  A child would have been in real trouble as I'm sure the bars were not close enough together to keep a child from being sucked into this area to probably death. I yelled for help and the lifeguard monitoring one of the chutes closest to me couldn't see or hear me because he was actually in the chute guiding tubers out. I was out of his eyesight.  The problem was the lifeguard sitting just across from me in a Green lifeguard t- shirt.  Green means 15 year old and I bet she couldn't swim either.  She had no intention of coming in the water to help me and I know she saw me. My cousin, 76 years old, tried to pull me out and he fell out of his tube.  So now there's two of us in trouble.  Finally another lifeguard saw the trouble and moved to help us along with the lifeguard in the chute who was now aware of our trouble. Once my cousin and I were both safe, I witnessed the 15 year old guard yelling back at the lifeguard who helped us, like it wasn't her problem.  I actually had a small water camera with me and when I got my wits about me I took the picture of the lifeguard who just sat there.  I did go and talk to some managers, who did nothing but look at me.  Other than that, some of the rides were not working and the staff couldn't tell you how to get from one ride to another. Some basically didn't give a you know what. I can guarantee we won't come back and give this place any money.

How do you give an attraction a zero rating?

This hotel is old and needs updates.  The room was very dark and depressing.  The water would not drain from our bathtub.  The price was very high for the experience.  We had an enjoyable time at the pool bar and the staff there were very helpful but we received very indifferent to rude experience at the front desk.  We asked for a courtesy and were told no without explanation.  We ate at the restaurant and the food was terrible and super overpriced.  We will not be back and buyer beware.

Overnight visit 

We went during Spring Break when the park was closed but had an amazing time. There were events for the guests and the pool was nice and warm. We had a great little get away. The rooms were clean and the food was great! Everyone there was friendly and we would definitely go back.
