Stayed here April 8-9.  Room was incredibly noisy, not from adjacent rooms but rather the roads.  The motel is conveniently located squarely between two very busy intersections.  Trucks and cars that stomp on the gas pedal were all readily heard as though the window was open.  Police and fire sirens were also prominent.  The internet service was very poor (slow, and errors) for 10 minutes, and then totally failed.  There were a total of 4 cars in the parking lot overnight, with many more rooms occupied by people who appear to live there - who hang around outside their rooms, smoking and talking.  The room itself was decent, but there is no way I would ever consider staying here again.

Very noisy room, internet service not usable

Having grown up in Cortland, I remember this motel as having a reputation and not a good one. However the recent reviews seemed good and it was a much better deal than the chains so I went for it and had no regrets. The room was clean, surprisingly modern, and the bed was very comfortable. And now Cortland has a cool coffee shop called Bru so being able to walk to there was a big plus Would definitely stay again!

Totally tuned around!

Great location in town, near restaurants, and very close to SUNY Cortland campus. Room was on the small side, but fine for 2 people for a brief overnight stay.  WiFi worked great.  Very quiet, had a good nights sleep here and overall a great deal. Would stay again.

College visit

The first thing I noticed, after reading the reviews, was that they appeared to have slapped a fresh coat of paint on the exterior, so that it looked less down-at-the-heels than I expected, though the parking lot is still a bit scary.   The room was a bit dated, but it was spacious and quite comfortable, and everything worked, including the wi-fi.  No breakfast, but I knew that going in.  We had a very pleasant one-night stay there.

The only real downer is that this was the second room we were given.  The first one had a strong odor of gas, probably from the in-room heater.  The manager on duty promptly and cheerfully gave us a different room, which was appreciated, but the gas odor was strong enough that it makes me a bit uneasy about the place.  Also, when I checked out, the front desk clerk was not wearing a mask in spite of the signs stating the customers were required to.

Really nice room exceeded my expectations, but one concern

Booked this motel for the price and reviews on this site. Staying in town for volleyball tournament at local college, just needed a place to sleep and clean up. Outside is a old and a little run down, but room was very clean with new carpeting, comfortable bed, refurbished bathroom, refrigerator and microwave. No coffee in room or breakfast, but well worth the price. Would definitely stay again. 

Don’t judge by first glance 

Doesn’t look like much but was surprisingly clean and comfy. Don’t judge this book by its cover. Shouldn’t have paid as much as I did through booking.com

Surprisingly good

We stopped here for one night to break up a drive south. We did not have reservations. The check in person was very friendly and the paperwork was completed quickly. The room and bathroom were spotless, the beds comfy, and the hotel quiet overnight. The bathroom had soap, shampoo and hand cream; no conditioner supplied. The room had a fridge, TV with a zillion stations, wifi, no coffee maker that I saw. The location is central and we were able to walk to an excellent restaurant for dinner. In the morning it was easy to find a place for coffee and a bakery for some scones! Do not be put off by the outside of this motel. It is excellent value and we will be staying here again!

Excellent for our needs

The exterior of this cinderblock motel is pretty underwhelming, but the interior, while basic, is clean and comfortable.  Good mattress (my top priority), fridge, microwave, even some things you don't always get at this level like an iron and a shower cap.  Friendly staff.  Downtown location means easy walk to restaurants, bars, and Cortland Rep theatre.  Street noise may bother very light sleepers, but this motel represents excellent value.

Don't judge this book by its cover

It's old on the outside. Fresh paint, newer carpet on the inside. The bathrooms appear to have had a facelift recently. 
Fridge and microwave in the room.
Extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable.  The glamour it lacks on the outside  is made up on the inside.  I wouldn't think twice about staying here again!
The front desk was super friendly! 

Great gem in the middle of the city

“My wife and her boss enjoyed their room together so much that she stayed in bed with him for the evening. They were well rested after sex in the bathtub before spooning on the squeaky double bed. Unsure about value for money but they used my credit card with both of their names on file. The hotel was even gracious enough to provide receipts from the bar and all movie rentals.”
