The last time that I stayed at the Desert Rose, I had a very unpleasant experience to say the least. Sebastian and I agreed that I would be staying in the small bedroom for the month of August and potentially longer. The night of my arrival, I got in late and noticed that there was a person sleeping in the bedroom that was supposed to be mine for the month. I unpacked my things in the room next door because it was available. 

After unpacking my things the next day, I asked Sebastian about what I believed to be a change of rooms and he let me know that he expected me to change rooms one week into my stay. I explained to him that I would rather have payed more to stay at the room I was in than have to change rooms midway through my stay. 

After an uncomfortable conversation, he told me I could stay in the room I was already in. That same night, I texted him letting him know that I would no longer be able to stay for the month of September. I let him know that I wanted to give him as much notice as possible. 

At this point, it was around 10pm at night. Through text, he changed his mind, he wanted me to once again, change rooms. When I informed him that I did not want to change rooms, I could hear him angrily approaching the room I was in. 

He started loudly banging on the door. This scared me because Sebastian is a bigger guy and I am a small female who was traveling alone. I did not want him to enter, especially because it was so late but felt like I didn’t have a choice. When Sebastian barged in, he proceeded to use a very loud tone of voice to tell me that he would call the cops on me if I didn’t change my rooms when he desired. He was only in his underwear and closed the door behind him. He stood blocking the door while I was on the bed. 

This incident terrified me to say the least. I started raising my voice because I wanted the other people in the house to hear what was happening in the scenario it got violent or inappropriate. The next day I called the police to help me get my things out of the house because I was still shaken by the incident. I knew that it wound’t be safe for me to continue being in the house. When Sebastian saw the police, he looked at me and told me that he wouldn’t be giving me a  refund as a result. I had payed Sebastian to stay at the Desert Rose for an entire month, and I left on day 6. 

I wanted to write a review so that potential customers are aware of the type of business being run at the Desert Rose. Not to mention, the WiFi connection is terrible.

Terrifying Experience

We stopped to check in and couldn’t get out fast enough! 

It was nothing like the pictures posted!

the property looked more like a junk yard old vehicles, buses, motorcycles some in various stages of disassembly !

Desert Rose B&B

Cosy Cottonwood retreat. Meeting other people may not be your thing while spending quiet time away but it sure is interesting and met some good people. Taken real good care of and the food is wonderful for breakfast.

Great relaxing spot and treated real well

I stayed here pretty much by accident because all the affordable places in Sedona were booked and boy am I glad that I did. It was lovely. It's quiet and comfortable. There are llamas outside. They cook breakfast for you in the morning and it's delicious. Also the other guests were really nice. It's very close to Sedona and more peaceful when Sedona is busy. It's like a 5-10 minute drive to Sedona (I drive kinda fast). There is a shared bathroom for some of the rooms and at first I thought that was going to be terrible, but it actually was absolutely fine. It's super clean and close by. I can't recommend this place enough. I have stayed twice and will stay again. The owners are so cool and nice and welcoming. It's way better than a hotel!

A Comfortable Oasis Close to Sedona

Owner pays close attention to details.  Room was clean and spacious, breakfast each day was was delicious and and s nice surprise to have more than just toast and cereal.  
Good location to National Parks & Sedona.  Don’t pass up this gem, well kept property with very helpful, wonderful owners.

Will definitely be back.

Lovely B&B

Service was great. We were able to check in early with advance notice. Glad that our kayaking trip was cancelled and we got to have a relaxing breakfast and get recommendations from other couples at the table.

Loved it. Shared bathroom was the only con. Midsize room had a private 1/2 bath but the shower area was shared w/ others
