Getting to stay at Patty and Jerry's home was a highlight of our weekend in the San Juan Islands, our first trip out there.

First, the hosts were very flexible with our travel schedule - we ended up missing our original ferry to the island and didn't get in until late. Nevertheless, Jerry stayed up to greet us at the door, take us on a brief tour of the home, and made sure we had everything we needed to clean up and sleep comfortably.

The following morning, we met Patty, who had prepared the best breakfast I've had in a long time - cantaloupe, fresh berries, home-made muffins with home-made jam, and an egg dish I still don't know the name of but was, nevertheless, astonishing (the breakfast on Sunday was just as good!).

Patty and Jerry themselves are wonderful, thoughtful people who made us feel truly welcome in their home, engaged us in lively conversation, and taught us a lot about the history of the islands and the delicate ecosystems that give them their beauty. They are rigorously professional (the rooms were large, oh-so-comfortable, and spotless, and house rules were clearly communicated), but also approachable, flexible, and most of all, deeply kind. They are people who have passion and integrity for everything they do.

We are looking forward to our next trip out, and would love to stay at the Longhouse B&B again. Thank you, Patty and Jerry, for letting us stay with you!

A Beautiful Home Steeped in Comfort and History

This was a topper! We enjoyed staying at the The Longhouse and in particular we loved our hosts Patty and Jerry...an amazing couple! Great couple of days with them and we were spoiled by the absolutely great breakfast which will be extremely difficult to match! Great discussions in the evenings. We touched upon the world challenges and exchanged views and travel experiences...and they had a lot!...while enjoying a glass of wine. Was very pleasant!

Amazing stay facilitated by fantastic hosts!!

We had the pleasure of staying the the Longhouse B&B for two nights. Patty and Jerry are wonderful hosts. They greeted us the first evening with coffee and cookies and Jerry shared some fascinating history about the Island. He also mapped out some beautiful hikes and gave us some ideas of things to do during our visit. What was truely amazing was Patty’s homemade breakfast. We felt completely pampered and catered to each morning. The food was outstanding! Everything was homemade and delicious. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the island!

Relaxing atmosphere and outstanding Breakfast!

It can be truly challenging to find a quiet and peaceful B&B with both amazing food and friendly hosts, yet The Longhouse has all that and more. Lovely views outside, a Pacific Northwest focused art collection inside, cozy places to relax, plus delicious three-course breakfasts. Patty's professional catering experience is evident in her thoughtfully planned meals, though Jerry's no slouch in the kitchen. They're both wonderful conversationalists and know a great deal of history about the island and region. I particularly liked their stories about the Native Americans who once inhabited the area, and what life was like on the island a few decades ago. The rooms are large and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and good lighting. And while you're enjoying the solitude only found at the end of a road, the Longhouse is merely 20 minutes from town and less than that from many of San Juan Island's best destinations. No better place to settle in for a few nights or a week.

True B&B Hospitality

We were looking for accommodations on San Juan island and decided on the Longhouse B&B. We stayed in the cabin but took advantage of adding on the breakfast in the main house. Patty and Jerry were super accommodating and excellent hosts. The breakfast was exceptional and we enjoyed the time to converse with our hosts. The property is unique and the Snug Harbor views were fabulous. Great trip and highly recommended!
