If you need a place to get your head together, and you like constant mist and pine fresh air, stay here.  Its a great place to decompress, figure put your next move, and move on.  I'm grateful for my stay there.  Cottage grove is just up the road for all your grocery needs.  I think the place had just the right amount of seclusion, company (if you felt like mingling) and vibe.  Dug it.  Stay here all ye who seek.  Its also a little creepy to.  Like the bates motel or something.  I got a little creeper out late at nite a couple times.  Nothing like a double murder in the history of a motel to get the imagination going.  I've paid 3X more for half as much.  This place was a great respite from all the incessant "business" of the world.  Totally reccomend.  Very friendly guests and staff.  Peace!

Great getaway

Danny and Rachel couldn't have been more helpful to us. $180 a week??? Also great selection of coffees and breakfast items. I have seen zero shady stuff since being here a week. It's a perfect size to live budget wise

Saved us!! $180 week unbeatable!

We stayed here during a transition into our new home, well I signed papers at the front office stating that cleaning would take place every 3rd day, that did not happen. Was also told their pet policy doesn't allow cats, so we paid for a kennel for our feline friend, however their were cats in a few of the rooms. The management seems to be only making sure their "friends" or longer term guests are taken care of. I recommend this hotel if you are trying to save some serious cash. However if you can afford the extra 10$ for a better motel. Do so.

Not horrible!

Why don't they have zero star? This place would definitely rate a zero. Every room stinks. Very strange. From start to finish it was a horrible experience. Mold, tweekers, the bedspread looked like it came from the 70s and had never been washed. The mold smell is overwhelming. Abandoned cars and a junk boat all over the property. Stray cats, garbage...I could go on. Please don't spend money before taking a look at what you're paying for. The only tenants here are forced to inhabit out of sheer desperation. This motel is set up exclusively to take advantage of that.

Horrible...the worst.

Everything was right there at motel...Meth, pot and hookers. Even saw the police in action when they came in heavy to arrest a guest. I wouldn't ever stay there again. The stink from the septic system that overflows onto the street was so gross I couldn't sleep.

I got to meet every crook and low life in Douglas County living there.

We made a reservation ahead of time, tried to use our credit card to reserve it but the Manager told us they didn't want to be responsible for our card #. Not to worry the room was ours(put in our name), the lady that had been staying their long term had checked out & they were cleaning the room, they would see us in a couple days. Spring break was starting so we didn't want to give up our current long term hotel room up until we had our next one reserved. 
So a couple days later we packed all up, check out, & drove 6hrs to the Star Dust Motel. When we arrived we were told the lady hadn't checked out yet & they had no idea when she was. They couldn't call us as they didn't write down any info except our name. They had a empty room but it needed cleaned & it would take them a couple days to clean it. We could come back then. They knew we were coming & they didn't clean the room?!?! Just lies, probably gave our Reserved room away!!
We had planned to go stay at the coast after spring break was over, but instead had to book a room for that night then head home. We had a limited vacation fund so could only afford weekly rates.
The manager told us the same company owns the weekly motels in Reedsport & Coos Bay also. So even though we missed the coast maybe we also missed two more situations like this one, because those were the very places we had planned to stay after we left the Stardust.
