I count myself very lucky to have stumbled on this gem of a Motel during my trip to Daytona.
On arrival I was greeted by the manager, who had a very impressive size with a personality to match. 
The rooms although a little dated were dressed with beautiful bedding and sheets and towels whiter than snow.
The manager couldn't have been more attentive, issues were efficiently dealt with making my experience of Famous Shores Motel one I will remember for all the right reasons.
Would I stay there again, Yes Please ..

A gem of a motel

I am an executive of a NYC media company ( CODE MEDIA GROUP INC ) and have come to Daytona to visit family for an extended stay . 2 months ( April 1 - June 1 to date ) . FAMOUS SHORES MOTEL is exactly what i was looking for !!! only 18 rooms and it is owned by Stepahan .... a french owner that is absolutely caring , attentive and a world wide intelligent person who takes care of this Motel and all the guests up and beyond normal standards .... The hotel sits 600 yards from SUN GLO PIER , across the street from the Beach , direct boardwalk to the beach ( private ) , pool , barbeque , and the rooms are awsome !!!!! I am inviting all the celebrities of MUSIC , FILM , TV , MEDIA industries to come here .. totally family friendly and a personal European touch that takes it over the top !!!!!

THE BEST MOTEL in DAYTONA BEACH SHORES ...

Now has new owners and managers and it is getting BETTER! Have stayed here a few years in a row, it is a nice little place accross from the beach and close to everything! It needs a little TLC, but I think the new manager will get things done! can't wait to come back next year!!

Nice Place , and close to the Beach!!

My husband and I decided to stay here for one night because it was close to a friend we were visiting. Because of spring break, all of the hotels close by were booked so we chose this one. BIG mistake. 

The rooms look NOTHING like the pictures. I can handle an outdated room, but this was beyond that. There was no central air, and the attached AC unit was spewing out dust and was loud as anything. I couldn't breathe because of the amount of dust/mold in the room. I wouldn't even set foot in the bathroom because it smelled so terrible. The furniture, the fixtures, everything was just old and in need of massive repair. The doors had household locks on them which is not secure or safe especially for exterior rooms. 

Clean towels, sheets and soaps were provided, but seeing a small cockroach crawl across them was not comforting. The owner/manager was a very nice person and extremely flexible with check-out times, but this motel is just in serious need of a renovation and a scrub down. It doesn't seem like the kind of place to visit on vacation, but more of a temporary apartment from what I could see. 

You get what you pay for. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Roach Motel

We found hair in the tub, we found bugs in the bed, we had a gap in an old suite door that you could see other room and they could see us. the people whom stayed next to us had two very large and loud barking doors. when we called about the issue we got no reply until we made a bad review to them on google. I will never stay here again and don't advise anyone to ever stay here. This place needs a complete rehab. Horrible. awful. dirty and not private.
