When we arrived there was no one at the property and no one answered the phone when we called. We waited in the out front for about an hour until another family arrived to check in. The family finally got through to the owner and was told they were running late. After about another 20 minutes, the owner and her some showed up. The owner immediately gave us attitude upon showing up nearly an hour and a half late. She told us our booking had been canceled but we had never received an email of a cancelation. After much discussion, she agreed to let us stay. I went to give her my credit card and she told me it was cash only and I would have to find an atm. After driving around and getting cash, we arrive back at the property. Once we entered the woman said she wouldn’t accept the money and that we could not stay there. This woman was the most unfriendly and unhelpful person I have ever come into contact with. I do not have a single good thing to say about this property. You are wasting your money and time if you decide to stay at the property.

Terrible Service- DO NOT STAY HERE

We even called at 1:50 pm to let them know we would be there after dinner to check in and they never called us to say that we didn’t have a room.  I called when we were on our way after 8:00 pm because their answering machine doesn’t have a greeting so I wanted to make sure I had the right number. I left a message for them to call me back and she called and said she didn’t care what my email said, we don’t have a reservation.  It’s to long to go on but I advise anyone looking on these site to call the city building commissioner to see if the place you reserve is liscenced.

They cancelled our room and we never got an email

On the morning of our reservation, a man from French Welcome called to tell me the credit card connection was not working so I would have to pay in cash. So I got the cash and my wife and I drove to the B&B that afternoon. About 20 minutes outside of Dedham a woman from French Welcome called to tell me the wifi was down and had been hacked so would I like to cancell? I said I could live without wifi so she then said the room we booked was small and uncomfortable and we'd have to share a bathrooom (which we already knew) and again suggested I cancel at no charge. By then, I got the message she didn't want my business. She offered neither an alternative lodging suggestion nor a sincere apology. I got the distinct impression she was not being candid with me. Book at your own risk!

Terrible customer service

Beautifully restored period home, tucked behind a white picket fence on a tree-lined street in the center of town. I fell in love with this place the moment I spotted it! My hostess was extremely accommodating of my late arrival time and, when asked, eager to share the history of the property, which had once served as a lodging house and stables for judges and lawyers appearing at the court house.  My room was spacious, immaculate and homey, with a large, original, fireplace--an incredible value for the price.  The house is beautifully furnished with French and American antiques; the book-lined common room is particularly welcoming,  All capped off with a delicious French country (hot) breakfast, served on the hostess's own fine china and silver.  I felt as though I were staying with a friend-of-a-friend of the family. A wonderful oasis of calm, quiet charm after a busy work day in the city!   (Note: If you are looking to stay in an impersonal, cookie-cutter, discount or chain hotel experience, this is not for you.)

Beautifully restored historic property, charming hosts!

I booked through Booking.com. It was a non-refundable reservation. French Welcome B&B emailed me to tell me that they had no room. "I don't know why Booking.com told you we had room. We have none." This was on Wednesday for a Saturday reservation. All she had to do was let booking.com know that she was full. Instead, she billed my credit card for the room that she cancelled. She argued with me and then was dishonest with booking.com. 

I can take a lot, but dishonesty is not something I will tolerate.
