We went to Pebble Beach for my husband’s 50th birthday. He wanted to play Pebble and Spyglass. We stayed at the Inn at Spanish Bay. The hotel and grounds were immaculate. The room was cozy, had wonderful amenities and the bed was fantastic. Service throughout Pebble Beach was amazing. Staff were very polite, helpful and attentive. Every meal we had was perfection. All of the drinks we had at every bar were perfect as well. I would absolutely stay again. I loved seeing/hearing the bag piper. Views are amazing. We rented a car but parked it and used the shuttle during our stay. It is super convenient. Definitely hit the Tap Room, go big steak and salt board. You will not regret it. The salmon dish with succotash was also ridiculously good. The desserts were phenomenal as well. I also recommend breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean at Stillwater. Complete zen. The Açaí bowl was so good! Make sure to save time for 17 mile. The ground hogs/gophers are adorable and walk right up looking for a snack. My husband had a spectacular experience golfing and wished he could have done more. We bought some nice cigars in the lobby and a seagull stole it, in wrapper, right out of his cup holder in the golf cart! I had one mediocre experience at the end and it is the only gripe I could come up with. Our last night we wanted to sit by the fire outside, have a glass of wine and a small snack. No one stopped to speak to us. I saw the employee walk past us numerous times and never once ask if we needed anything or were okay. There was a party of people at another fire-pit that she was being attentive to. I finally grew frustrated and went to her. She told me that there was no more service at this time. Mind you, if she had taken the time to acknowledge us 20 minutes earlier we would have made the cut. I asked where we could find a glass of wine and snack only to be offered no suggestion other than go to your room for room service. So banished to our room, we did just that and the room service was great…I just would have preferred the fire outside and hearing the waves.

Fantastic trip!

First class service and accomodations at the Inn at Spanish Bay. We had champagne in our room provided by the resort for our anniversary celebration. Concierge had our bags put in our room while we went outside to hear the bagpiper 5:30-6:45. Food is delicious everywhere but pricey. We played Spyglass which is the toughest of the Pebble Beach courses. Note: you can play the resort courses without staying on property but need to reserve a tee time within 24 hours

We love Spanish Bay

My visit was actually in July 2022. The Inn was fantastic. My concern is that my outerwear was stolen from my golf bag and the Inn seemed to be indifferent about it. My golf bag was placed on a bus from Pebble Beach and deposited in the Inn at Spanish Bay and when I went to collect my bag the next day, all my outerwear had disappeared from the bag. I asked several times and staff just shrugged their shoulders and said - “Sorry, we don’t know anything.” Someone stole it among the hotel staff and I was and still am upset about it. Don’t leave anything in your golf bag if you don’t want it taken and don’t expect any help from the Inn if your things are stolen.

Stolen Items

Celebrated a 50th Wedding Anniversary there as well as played golf at the resort courses.  It's a bucket list item that I've now had to do more than once, bringing new people each time (who doesn't want to play Pebble).  And if they offer me another special I just might come back a few more times,  it's that special of a place.  

The Bucket List Experience is Becoming an Annual Event.

We have stayed here multiple times and each time gets better, totally impressed with the impeccable service from Amy at the front desk and Erin in the restaurant. The hotel is beautiful both inside and outside, we have made this our annual go to retreat to play golf and enjoy this wonderful hotel. Everyone needs to be pampered every now and then and this is the place.

A great place to stay with fantastic scenery around, staff were welcoming / professional and overall a really great experience with access to some brilliant courses on your doorstep as well as some good restaurants

Few days golfing after Hawaii

The property is set against a wonderful coastal backdrop and is known to be quite expensive. We splurged for a romantic celebration that included golf at Spanish Bay with an ocean front room on the first floor that opens out onto a beautiful view. But the room, nearly 2k in total per night, was a mere 470 sq. feet. We had to store our luggage on the floor next to the patio door and on top of the dresser. The room was nicely redone, but on the second day, we came back to an unlocked door. Anyone could have walked into our room. We assumed the housekeeper left it unlocked after sweeping the patio, but my husband said it could have been deliberate to allow someone to enter while we were out.

Upon check in, we asked the concierge (Lynette) to book a tee time two days later at Spyglass. I kid you not that she asked me to speak with the proshop. The proshop worker said she could not make the booking and told us to call reservations. Lynette stated she was not a golfer and that was why she had me make the booking. It's hard to imagine she would have asked this of the typical male golfer, but who knows? Regardless, what on earth is she doing in the position of concierge at such a high-end facility, unable to make a simple tee time at one of the Pebble Beach courses??

Also at check in, a valet turned away a tip and informed us that a mandatory $28 charge would be attached to our portfolio each day to cover valet, concierge, front desk, and housekeeping tips, yet the front desk informed us the charge was higher. However, Lynette, that same concierge, told us that valet, etc. would appreciate additional tips.

I enjoy having a bathtub, but these are small. I could not straighten my legs, and being narrow, they are difficult to get out of. Do not use if you have troublesome knees as there's nothing to hold on to as you get out. We could easily hear the guest above us walking around. The double sinks with vanity area are nice along with a coffee center and minifridge.

Not worth the money. Safety and service concerns.

Wonderful stay!  Beautiful room, meals were great and golf was challenging. My only complaint (and it’s nit picking) lobby was cold to enjoy jazz music at night. When we asked about closing front doors we were told it was company policy to have 2 doors open at all times. Seem odd to freeze out those trying to enjoy music in case door men couldn’t get to doors to open for guests entering

Anniversary trip

The Inn at Spanish Bay is not to be missed if you want to treat yourself and your family! It is pricey, but it is worth the cost.  The rooms have more amenities than you would even hope for, and are meticulously maintained. The beds are comfortable, and the views were great! The bagpiper that comes each evening is something that has to be experienced at least once during your stay. The grounds are beautiful and there are walking trails that lead down to the beach and around the area.  The gym is fully equipped. Roy’s has great views of the surrounding golf course and good food, but the service was a little slow/inattentive. The service in the outside seating and bar area was great.  We have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed!  This is one of our favorite places to stay of any place in the world!

One of the best hotels in the world!

We came here after driving around the 17 mile drive. We were going to have dinner here at Roys. We roamed around the premises a bit. The patio and garden area was lovely. Perfect to sit around and have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The best thing about it is the view of the course and the ocean. So peaceful. The kids and our dog enjoyed running around. Next time, we will check in, reading the reviews seems like it is quite a stay at this place.
