This is a family favorite of ours!! Old Florida charm with every modern amenitie you could want. Visit the fully stocked lake store for any snacks drinks or souvenirs you need or Doordash anything from Target to the amazing local restaurants nearby. Rent a pontoon and have the time of your life on the Lake! Relax in the pristine salt water pool or by the fire pit. You're also only a few minutes car or boat ride away from national Parks and springs. This place is amazing!! 

Best trip you'll take this year. 

This was our first trip here, and it was very nice.  The office was very accommodating with late check in and moving our pontoon rental to the next day due to rain.  The room was nice and we liked the close parking spaces so you didn't have to carry your luggage any distance.  Parking is tight in the back when everyone has big vehicles, but we had no problems. The office has ice, drinks, firewood and tshirts for sale.  There are 2 nice restaurants nearby and the Winn Dixie store up the road.  If you need a cold beer, or mixed drink, there is a vintage biker bar (smoking allowed inside) next door - no food however you can have Papa Johns Pizza delivered at the bar or to your resort room very quickly.  The room was like a mini cabin with a covered back porch so you could sit outside even if it rains.  The only minor issues we had were the shower liner and curtain didn't match up so we had water on the floor, we had to watch a youtube video to figure out how to switch the above the door air conditioning unit to heat, because there weren't any directions, and the sliding glass door wouldn't stay on the track and 2 took people to open and close it.  However , overall we really liked the place, and will definitely return.  The help was all very friendly, and there was always someone working on the grounds.  It looks very well kept.  The pontoon rental offers several places to eat on the river, and the office provides you a map.

HIdden gem on the lake.

A perfect mix of old & new. Our room (203) even had an old school thermostat control. I asked Aaron to relay to the owners to not change a thing about the property. We loved the foliage, the staff, the room, & the location. Tested the waters for a quick 2 night visit, but plan on returning to rent a pontoon boat & go kayaking or maybe a river boat tour.

Hidden gem for a weekend getaway.

Went there for our new Poker Run. Lori and company was more than accommodating. Beautiful well maintained property looking forward to our next visit. Would recommend this resort to anyone looking to experience old Florida 

Best old Florida experience 

This hotel is like going back in time where there is no stress. Easy feeling and relaxation. It is NOT a Four Season or Ritz! And it’s NOT meant to be. Come he with close friends and family for fellowship amd good times. The pool, fire pit, marina and shuffle boards are all like what we had when we were kids in the 70s and 80’s. Room are always updated and clean. Come here and chill. Throw a way your phone and turn off face book you will be better for it.

Slice of old Florida

Completely disappointed as the property is set on a lake with nice foliage surrounding a dreary, worn down room.  Everything looks like it was brought in from local give always or garage sales.  Worn, grungie furniture that I sprayed thoroughly with Lysol in hopes of minimizing the odors. 
Dishes are supplied but beware as there’s no dishwasher so I’m thinking it’s up to the previous guest.  Okay, that’s a fail unless you don’t mind dirty dishes in the cabinets.

Desperately Seeking Updates & Scrubbing

Grounds are absolutely beautiful!  Even have signs with plant names which was great since I now want to plant some at my home.  Beautiful old oaks, very peaceful and relaxing.  Pool area was perfect, you could sit in Sun, or under umbrella or really nice covered like patio area where you are out of sun altogether.  That's import in Florida during summer.  Dan, Bob and Mike who work at resort all really nice and good sense of humor.  We had 3 bedroom 2 bath unit for two nights for 7 of us  and had plenty of room.  Had Kitchen, dining room, family room and great outdoor patio.  Inside furniture wasn't modern or new but was comfortable and homey feeling.  No carpet which was nice.  Only negative I can say is I thought there was a bit too much furniture and I'm not a fan of silk plants.  Pontoon boat was great and so reasonably priced.

Highly recommend if you want to just relax and enjoy  in comfortable surroundings.

Great Place

it is hard to imagine that anyone other than the owners family or friends could make this a five star review. First off they have no refund policy, which of course they need because I am sure so many people like us have left early. Hard to know where to start.

The rooms are all non-smoking, but there are cigarette butts all around the grounds, so people are smoking everywhere and you can tell by the smell of the rooms. This may have been a nice place in the 1940s, but I do not think the furniture or furnishings have ever been changed. The musty smell is evident the moment you walk in. We were grateful that the weather was nice enough to keep the windows open, however that backfired on us as well. The room next-door decided to play country music as loud as they could from 1 AM until 6 AM. The next morning I asked management do you have a quiet policy? The response was, did you knock on their door question? My response back was that I was not looking for them to turn the music up and try to annoy me even further. Did I try and call Management that evening? Yes, but they are inaccessible after hours. So the next evening when the toilet and bathtub backed up with feces they were also inaccessible.

The purpose of this review is for one reason only and that is to protect other unwary travelers who feel that this might be an OK place by having read some of the other reviews. It is really a shame, because it is on a beautiful setting and with some good management and updating of the units this could be a nice place.

The bathroom was clean, but the stove top did not work properly the rack for the dishes was disgusting and we did not want to sit on any of the upholstered furniture for fear of what might be in it.

The only acceptable thing is the exterior landscape care

We've rented a pontoon boat twice this summer from Tropical Marina. The boats are in wonderful condition, staff helped us with our gear, and were courteous. The price is very reasonable and we did shop around. The river is pristine and you can stop off at Blue Springs State park for a cool dip. There is a restaurant called Swampy's along the route, and Hontoon Island. Lots of birds, gators, turtles, and even saw an otter. I recommend renting a boat here, great to do on a summer day!

Pontoon rental review

We brought our young children to a very uncomfortable situation . Ther were two staff members that couldn't keep there eyes off of our kids in the pool , very creepy.
Parents beware !!!! Childre beware !!!! This place is unsafe
