The host/owner was very nice. Let us use the private beach  at their sister hotel.

Stayed in Suite #2 with spouse. 
Suite was nice but could use some updates. Locks on sliding doors about to fall off as well as shutters on bedroom windows. Fan in bathroom and other vents needed cleaning.

Breakfast was ok. Not much of a repertoire. Eggs one day, french toast the next. I was disappointed as used to exceptional breakfast when staying at a B&B. 

All in all we had a nice time but would try another place to stay next time.

My husband and I stayed at An English Garden Bed and Breakfast for 4 nights in mid/late October 2023.  Our intention was to get some rest and relaxation with a Cape Cod vacation.  We had never visited the Cape before, and wanted to explore it during the off season, to enjoy the nice autumn weather without the crowds.  An English Garden Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place to accomplish those things.  We stayed in Suite 2 of the Carriage House, a second-floor suite which has one bedroom, a kitchenette and 2 French doors that open to a little balcony with a great view towards the ocean.  It was a comfortable and quiet place to stay, within convenient driving distance to Cape Cod attractions, restaurants, and shops.  Breakfast was simple and delicious, served each morning by our hostess Courtney.  Thanks, Courtney and Co., for a stellar stay at Cape Cod! 

Second Floor Serenity

Overall we had a very pleasant stay!! The owners were amazing and the location was awesome and convenient to our travels on Cape Cod! Our accommodation’s were very comfortable! Beds were amazing!! The only reason we gave it a four is the “small amenities” were  not available!! A commercial ice machine is needed! The ice machines were portable and really didn’t work while we were there.Breakfast was good, nothing  really amazing! Housekeeping was just ok! Rooms were pretty clean but could be cleaner. If you wanted service you left your tag on the door! That got you clean towels but no clean drinking glasses! A minor refresh would be better. Even with our small issues we highly recommend!

Let me start by saying:
1) The stay was fine. The bathroom sink would not drain whatsoever, but no complaints other than that. 
2) This is my 2nd maybe 3rd online review ever. I don’t do this often.

I stayed at an English Garden bed and breakfast from August 25th - 27th to celebrate a friend’s wedding. On the morning of the 27th I got a call from a family member informing me that my father suffered a stroke. I raced out of there and straight to the hospital where I spent the next week. On September 2nd I was unpacking my bags and realized my checkbook was nowhere to be found. I called the front desk, and they told me they hadn’t seen it but took down my number in case it came up. I got a call 5 minutes later saying they had it. They had it for SIX days without thinking to notify me!? They told me they would mail it on September 5th since that weekend was Labor Day. On the 6th I called and spoke to the front desk ‘manager’ who had no idea what I was talking about but said she would look in to it and get back to me. Fast forward to September 11th, still haven’t heard anything. I call again and request to speak to the owner, which they would not allow me to do (even though the owners contact information is framed on a desk the moment you walk in?). On the 12th I get a call from the owner Calvin, and I explain my situation. He proceeds to tell me that it was thrown in a sensitive items drawer and essentially forgotten about, and that he would mail it back to me today. SIXTEEN days later! Still hasn’t been mailed, was never notified they had it, and he never once apologized about the situation. In the meantime, I’ve had to open a new checking account, debit card, checkbook, transfer all my automatic payments, the whole nine yards. Yes, it is my fault for leaving the checkbook, I fully recognize that. That doesn’t absolve them of their responsibility to notify the customer (who paid almost $1,000 to stay there for the weekend) that they left behind a sensitive item. On top of that, to hold on to it for OVER 2 weeks when it was supposedly “mailed” out 10 days ago. Absolutely atrocious customer service, take your business elsewhere for that price tag. 


Awful customer service

We had a wonderful , enjoyable experience at the English Garden BnB on Cape Cod. As advertised, our suite was comfortable, larger than a room stay and great for couples. Breakfast every morning was delightful with a daily change in the menu from French toast one morning to eggs with meats and toast and fruit the next. Of course there was always juice and coffee also. It was a great way to start the day. Finally, a day at the beach was literally a 2 minute walk from our suite. You could not ask for a more relaxing vacation stay. We shall definitely return.

A Most Relaxing Stay

Happy to have found this gem on the Cape. 
We had four wonderful days in room 111 which was perfect. 
Great views. Fabulous breakfast. Terrific staff.

Cape Beauty

Stayed here when friends made reservations for a two day stay for the four of us. The overall appearance is adequate, but the devil is in the details. The exterior door to the deck would not close, no, I mean there was a drafty gap around it! The toilet seat was loosely held on by one bolt, and the sink bowl plunger had been disconnected and left on a shelf. The television controls were incomprehensible even when the instructions later found in the lobby were applied and the ac/heat remote required opening an deciphering the device. It was nice they left an envelope for a tip; well, here’s a tip for you: it comes across as lipstick on a pig. Great breakfast, though, and we enjoyed sharing heater control stories with other guests!

Facade

My husband and I met up with three other family members in mid-July.  They had rooms on the second floor while we stayed in the first floor suite with our 10- year old grandson.  The suite was clean, spacious with a kitchenette and dining area that was the perfect spot for us to gather at various times during the day.  Each day started with a made-to-order breakfast, (shout out to Rich) including eggs any way and hash browns which were perfectly prepared.

We did some sightseeing but mainly just walked to/from the small downtown area and had lots of beach time.  Managers Courtney and Calvin were wonderful and keep folks supplied with beach towels, chairs and umbrellas.  Overall we had a wonderful time and I hope to get back here in the next couple of years.

A mini family reunion

Courtney and Calvin were awesome hosts! Our room was very comfortable and had a great view of the ocean. The B&B perfect and the food was fantastic. Thank you for such a relaxing time! Dennis Port is a great location for getting to all the other tourist spots, such as, P-town, Chatham, Plymouth, WoodsHole. Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Each night you can come back and rest on your own private beach!

Our first time on Cape Cod

We stayed at the English Garden to celebrate our 40th anniversary and we were very pleased.  We stayed in the upper floor suite.  It  had everything needed to make you feel like you were home.  It was filled with bright sunshine and the deck was wonderful as was the sea breeze.  We enjoyed watching all the bunnies each morning too.   The flowers are beautiful all over the premises.  Each morning they provide a cooked to order breakfast, which is served in the sweetest little room with floral table clothes.  Rich made us awesome eggs and pancakes with blueberry/raspberry homemade syrup that was delicious.  It is less than a block to the beach, which was nice and there is a nearby walking path we also enjoyed.  Our stay was everything we expected and more.  It is obvious that Courtney and Calvin have worked very hard to make the English Garden, such a special place.  I would not hesitate to stay here again.  The only disappointment I had is that I missed seeing the Hydrangeas in full blossom! This truly is a special place.
