Whether watching the tides or whales, the view of the rocks, trees, and ocean are dramatic and beautiful. This motel is also a gem in terms of service, location, and amenities. It was easy to stay there. The walk to the center of town was just the right length for us as older people, giving us access to the Whale Watch Center, coffee, food, and beer. We love it.

Perfect View

Check in was very easy and quick, the appearance of the building and surroundings was nice but when we walked in the room, we had an absolutely fantastic view of the ocean. Had a beautiful fireplace. It was really a lovely room, and the price was terrific! You won’t be sorry if you stay here.  The price is right. 

Room with a Great View

No air conditioning and could not open window due to noise. Room was noisy and was not able to check-in due to not one in office till 4pm even though our reservation said 3pm.  Had to wipe down counter in bathroom and nightstand.

Bad place to stay

Stopped here on our way home from a much longer trip to unwind and enjoy the ocean. This was our 4th time staying here over the years. The hotel has recently been updated and was really clean and nice. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was well apointed, frig, microwave, big TV, and awesome view of the ocean. The staff was kind and helpfull. Being righ on the Coast Highway it is so easy to use a a base of operations. Restaurants, shops, and activities very close by.

The managers were so friendly and kind. I absolutely will stay again. Close to the water and whale watching and other beaches. Tasty food super close. Went for a wedding that was a couple of towns down but it’s a great drive.

Nice stay

The staff in the office was great. Unfortunately that is where the good experience stopped. The refrigerator stunk and was not working. The worst part was the toilet did not work in the room,had to go down the road to the Chevron to use the bathroom. I would never recommend this until it has been renovated or fixed DO NOT STAY HERE!

Broken

We had a wonderful view of the ocean and really enjoyed the fireplace in our room and the big screen TV.  Plush towels and Paul Mitchell products were appreciated.  The clerk was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable.

Very enjoyable

We stayed in January for the King Tides. I was a little annoyed that they changed our room when I booked an ocean view room.. the ocean was behind a couple of trees… fortunately we were only staying one night so it didn’t matter that much. The floor was covered in sand 🙃. Other then those things they had great parking, friendly staff, a fireplace, clean, and a modern decor.

I never write bad reviews but this was the WORST experience i've ever been through!!! My boyfriend and I arrived at our room at 8pm after a long day of driving and tried to check in at the outdoor check in station and no one was there! There was a phone that said dial 0 for "on site management" so we did and no one answered! We were cold and tired so we tried dialing 0 a few more times and still no answer. The area seemed unsafe and we were freezing and my bf's mom got worried so she called the Wyndham 800 number and they got a hold of the "on site manager". She came out of her bedroom  that was right next to the outdoor checkin station that we had been waiting at wearing pjs and said with a cocky smile that our rooms been cancelled because we had no business calling Wyndham (she was mad that we made her look bad i guess). I was shocked! She said that we've been prank calling her and trying to mess with her and if we don't get out of here she'd call the cops. Trying to stay calm, we told her that we would have no interest prank calling her, we've been waiting 20 minutes in the cold and would please like our room. She said that's not true, and that she had been waiting there the whole time and answering our calls?! (maybe she has an invisible suit???) I felt so gaslit and overwhelmed that I started crying while walking away and she was saying "go cry little girl". I've never felt so disrespected and just confused. I started looking up reviews after this and saw someone posting about this women calling their wife horrific names. PLEASE spend a little extra and go to the Clarion or anywhere else for that matter or you might risk being gaslit and having your room cancelled. We were greated warmly and given a room right away at the Clarion, that's how it should be...

TERRIBLE  customer treatment

Traffic was horrible and there was no ocean front rooms, there are trees in the view and we couldn't see very well the ocean, the rooms were drafty and the rooms were dungy and left a day early because we couldn't stand the rooms,
