Nothing fancy at all but clean 
We stayed, slept and moved on down the coast 
Nice view of bay outside door of parking lot 
We found a cheap price on line and lady gave it to us for that price.
This area is beautiful

August coming down Oregon coast 

This is a nice place! The rooms are very nice! Don't let the outside especially the rooms facing Highway 101 with the bad looking doors. Check in starts at 3 p.m. as I got there early about 40 minutes before 3 p.m. and had to wait. Lady at the front desk was very nice ! Upon entering my room 6, I was very surprised to see how nice the room was! Actually 3 separate rooms. Nice living room with a couch and table and nice tv, fridge and coffee maker. The room was though an entry way and a separate bathroom as well. For $73.00 and change it was just perfect for me and a great price! I would stay again.

Nice place!

This place is horrible.  The beds terrible.  Its  old and moldy. The management is horrible.  Owner is worse. Rooms in back are tiny and the ones in front have good view. Same people have Summer Winds in Newport.  I would avoid both. 

Horrible

I read this motel had recently changed owners and was improved. I believe a roof was installed a while ago.  I checked into the place last week. The desk clerk had to switch us from room 8 to room 7 due to a broken shelf, she said.  Got into the room and it was colder than the outside , and this was December. Only one thin blanket on the bed. 

 I advised the desk clerk the rooms heater was not working. She immediately offered me a "Space heater" rather than a room where the heater did work? The place finally warmed up about 10  p.m. It's as if she knew the heater did not work.  The sink faucet leaked terribly form its stem. There were cracks, breaks, missing hardware, etc. all over the room but it was clean.  The steps from this old motor-court are an accident waiting to happen and not even close to ADA compliant. 

I really felt sorry for the poor desk clerk ( Tonya ) because she for sure had to deal with many dissatisfied patrons to keep the apparently greedy owner happy. The place must have been bought as an investment in real estate and the owner isn't about to invest one dime in it other had absolutely necessary til the highway-frontage property can be re-sold at a profit.

Sitting on investment?

The motel has NEW OWNERS as of several weeks ago.  While the rooms need some updating (the new owners have taken on quite a project), ours was sparkling clean, the bed was comfortable, and the rates affordable.  The owners are very friendly and accommodating, making sure to ask if there was anything they could do to make our stay even more enjoyable.  The location is terrific, with dining, shopping, and many nature trails all within an easy walk.  A great value right on the coast!

Great value, great location, great owners

I had a wonderful weekend at the four winds motel in Depoe Bay! I think it should be called a cottage inn rather than a motel because the sitting room and sleeping areas are separated the rooms are cozy and climate controlled the staff is friendly and helpful and the view of the bay is excellent. You'lll spend a lot more up and down the highway for the not many amenities that this charming place doesn't offer.
PS... There was good Chinese food and weekend karaoke just next door at the Wing Wah restaurant and lounge!

This place is tiny, nasty, unclean, and unsuitable. I can’t even open my front door all the way before it hits the bed. When you do crack it open it reeks of weed and cigarettes. The lock works every now and then. The room was dirty with stains on the walls, bed, and in my opinion the worst was the towels. There is a mysterious door in the closet that is shut by a deadbolt and the wooden shelf. I can’t believe they charge a cleaning fee for pets because it looks like they are not cleaned period. I advise whoever is reading this that it is worth the extra 30-50$ to book a different hotel. I cannot believe I paid to stay the night here when camping would have been cleaner.

DO NOT BOOK

Over the past several years I have booked a hotel room for a group of men with whom I go fishing every year. This year I booked five rooms for one night well in advance of June 24 and the motel staff called me the day before to cancel our reservation.

The cancelation had a ripple effect with our fishing trip with added headache, huge costs for lodging (during a high traffic beach weekend due to a heatwave) and made for a very stressful adjustment to a "relaxing" weekend.

When I asked, they said that there was a pipe burst/water leak and had to vacate the entire premises.

Other friends had booked a room for that night and had no cancellation. Additionally another friend called to see about making an individual reservation and they were happy to oblige for the same evening.

Suffice it to say me and the 10+ men who go fishing every year will no longer be staying at the hotel and I will encourage others to stay away as well.

The Hotel cancelled a reservation made months in advance

My dog discovered a taco-bell wrapper. I then looked under the bed and discovered chocolate candies and plastic wrap. I was required to pay 20 in cash for my dog upon arrival which, would have been fair if I was able to have my dog safely in the room. On this evening and before the discovery of the taco-bell wrapper, I called the front desk to ask for the WIFI password. I was given the password and was told that the front desk would be going to dinner for 45 minutes. My sister who was also staying in the room had gone to bed. I kenneled my dog due to fear for his safety. I was unable and unwilling to locate all the chocolate and plastic but my dog surely could find these if he was allowed out of his kennel. 
The next morning I went to the office to talk to them about how I payed to have my dog but felt this was unjust since he had to be confined to his kennel. I could have kept him in my car for free. The weather was cool and he would have been safe there. The office was closed until 2 pm.  
When I called the motel later I was accused of lying. I took pictures of the room and how it was obviously not cleaned aside from having the beds made and trash taken out. see pictures below.

I simply wanted a place with a fresh clean bed to sleep after traversing around on a photographic extravaganza.  After all, I was out in the elements the website day, I was soaked from the rain but didn't care. A hot shower 1 and bed were all I wanted.  My room was dated, but this isn't a new building so I didn't care. It was quaint, charming, and mine. It was clean and here was hot water, and a heater. My check in was smooth.  I found a cheaper price online and showed them after they quoted me, and we haggled a few minutes and they honored it.  I didn't need view, after traveling the coastline all day and evening.  
What most don't realize, is this is a rather dated building and you aren't going to have all of the bells and whistles. Clean and functional.    As I looked around my room I did snicker a few times, but I was content with it, happy and I have no complaints.  If you need heat, I recommend turning that in wall old style heater allll the way up whilst you enjoy a g7ot soak in the tub. I was delighted that I could actually stretch all out completely.   There was a tv with cable or satellite whatever. Mini fridge, coffee pot and microwave and fresh clean linens.  You can tell if they aren't clean lol. What else did I need?  Nothing.  
I'll return.  My 2 day stay was quite pleasant
