An awesome value considering the very low prices for a rustic yet clean and well kept location, with a beautiful view and very spacious cabins/ grounds for one person or a couple. The reasonably stocked kitchen is a joy; being able to pick up local food products and come back to enjoy a beautifully cooked meal with all of the basic kitchen tools. The staff is friendly, courteous, respectful of privacy and very accommodating of any guest needs. The grounds of the farm, including the local dog visit and the soft bay of the goats in the field, add to the simplistic natural charm. We stayed here for our anniversary, wanting to be out of the main Port Townsend area but close enough to enjoy everything that Port Townsend, Discovery Bay and the surrounding areas have to offer.

A little Rustic and Old School Charm

Pros: - out of the way; quiet; farm animals (goats, chickens, dogs and cats); sheets were clean (I inspected) and comfortable.
Cons: - scary looking; property run down/dirty; proprietors William and Marie somewhat standoffish; despite sign inside Cabin #5 stating cabin is visited each day for trash removal and other types of housekeeping, didn't happen as I was there for 5 days and not once was the trash can removed/emptied.  If you like dancing in the shower, this is the place for you.  One minute scolding hot water from the shower, the next, ice cold - lots of in/out of the stream and playing with the controls.  No TV or internet wasn't an issue, it was nice to unplug.  Watched a few of the VHS tapes, but DVD player didn't work and when brought to their attention, "Oh" was all that was said.  Had to clean/wash the Mr. Coffee pot before use, as well as any dishes or silverware. Coffee was never replenished - that right there is a deal breaker.  If family hadn't been staying in another cabin and I told them to bring coffee... Ceiling fan in bedroom clickety-clacked all night until I was able to MacGyver it with a piece of chewing gum.  No shampoo/conditioner provided, bring your own, as well as a hairdryer.  We're talking less than a fishing cabin here with no amenities.  Two of the 6 cabins are stuffed with junk, giving the impression that hoarders live there...or it's where the bodies are hidden.

We wanted an affordable room for a few nights in the Pt. Townsend area. Valley View cabins are quite basic, and depending on the cabin, it probably varies on its quality. Our room had two beds, one bed had a decent mattress the other mattress was too soft for a comfortable night for me. There is also a pull out couch that didn’t seem too firm either. They just painted the cabin, but the walls were bare though 3 hangings were stacked in a corner. They didn’t care enough to rehang them? That was my take on this place, to do the bare minimum. Under the couch was lots of dust and dirt. It was nice to have a full kitchen, and a little porch to sit and look at the lovely view. Wi fi would have been nice, the office has it so why can’t the cabins? For an inexpensive room, it works out OK.

Very basic

We've been here twice and enjoy it very much. It is not far from Sequim or downtown Port Townsed but you feel isolated in a welcome way.  I love the simplicity of no WIFI and DVD / VCR players in the rooms.  We borrow many of the classic films they have and enjoy the nostalgia.  It is not fancy but its not meant to be.  Priced right and has everything you need.  In many ways more than you get at a high end place.  Beds are clean and comfortable.  Kitchen is a nice size with a good fridge.  A nice home away from home.

A+ for price and peaceful getaway.  Simple feel is welcome!

The Valley View Motel is a cute, quaint and [the only] cost-effective between Blyn, WA and Port Townsend, WA. The owner, who corresponded with me via email, offered me a below-market rate because the cabin I had requested was undergoing renovations. The room is appropriately sized with a queen bed, full refrigerator and stove-top with oven. Heat is supplied by a propane unit in the center of the cabin. The accommodation offered a nice view, good location and rock-bottom prices, but I was never warned not to drink the tap water at check-in. The water, likely sourced from a well, is not potable. I was violently ill during my stay and was very sick for days to come. I suggested boiling water if you plan on drinking it. Otherwise, you get exactly what you pay for this place (not much).

We rarely stay in cabins.  These were clean and well-furnished.  The full kitchen included not only a microwave, but complementary microwave popcorn.  No restaurants nearby, I think.  But we were quite happy with the experience.

Not the usual

I booked a cabin 2-1/2 months ago and was notified five days before my arrival that they did not have any accommodations available for me.  No offer to help find other lodgings, no discount for a future stay, just "we are cancelling your reservation, sorry."  Very unprofessional.

We had done our research so we knew to expect basic simple accommodations.  That part was fine.  The view was lovely and having goats around was entertaining.   We started 3 nights and rented 3 cabins for our group.  What surprised us was that they said there would be daily towel changes.  There was never any new towels or soap or coffee replenishment.  We were gone all day but nothing was attended to.  But the thing that really disappointed us was the time we left an unopened package of oreos on the deck of one cabin while we were hanging out at another cabin.  The proprietor took the oreos from the deck and when were asked about it,  she claimed she threw them away (???!!!!) Because they have a problem with "sugar ants".  First of all,  if there's an ant problem,  guests should be instructed not to leave anything out,  and secondly,   a reasonable person would hold the cookies for us in the office to get later.  There was something odd about this.
