We have had the liney moon booked for months for out  wedding party to stay at the weekend of our wedding.  They sent us an email cancelling on us unless we wanted to rent the property out for $6500 more than what we originally paid. I think it is due to new management but they have no regard for keeping the customers they had. We pretty much begged them to let us keep our booking and they wouldn’t. This caused us to have to scramble for a new spot. Since we are late in the game now, most places were taken and we were forced to pay $2,000 more than we originally planned due to them cancelling. Entirely disrespectful to get rid of their current bookings. I would highly NOT recommend planning on staying here since they are unreliable and do not hold their end of the deal up. They caused us a lot of extra money and stress.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

I have always wanted to stay at this little hidden gem and I finally got my chance but, it was under strange circumstances. I was leaving a wedding (the photographer) and the roads where icy and my car got stuck! Luckily it was right in front of the Liney Moon! I got a hold of the manager on call and the let me crash in a open room so I didn't have to freeze to death in my car. It was so cozy! The hot shower was amazing! I definitely want to go back once the weather warms up and roads aren't iced over. haha!

Such a romantic cozy stay!

I had my wedding here. It was the most special weekend. Having everyone stay together the whole weekend was the best time. Everyone loved it. The cabins are adorable and stellar house is huge with so much room. The patio and pool were just the perfect spot. The management is wonderful and could not have been nicer. The wedding chapel was just a dream. I wish I could do it all over again.

Most amazing place

We stayed in one of the cottages with our 2 dogs and the place was cute and clean and the property was nice. A major positive was the location–it was close to all the places we wanted to check out in the area while also being secluded. 
Some minor things to note: the mini fridge is really small so I would suggest brining a cooler and the coffee machine definitely needs to be upgraded. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and we couldn't really figure out the AC so it was warm. Also, I would suggest bringing a small folding table to put outside on the deck with the chairs since there is no where to sit inside besides the bed. 
All in all it served the purpose that we booked it for–we didn't plan to spend much time there and just wanted somewhere to sleep and shower that was close to the breweries/distilleries/places to eat so if that's what you are looking for I would recommend staying here and I would definitely stay here again!

Great location and cute property/cottages

Property was as pictured. Clean with air conditioning /heating and water. The cottages are like glamorous she sheds ;) so that is an experience.  The cottages are also clustered together with a driveway distance between. We enjoyed our glamping experience. Bring bottled water however and I hope you can get the coffee pot to brew a dark cup of coffee.  

Nice and clean 

We spent two nights here recently to attend a wedding. In theory, what the Liney Moon has to offer is great - small, self contained units abounding with charm. Unfortunately they fall far from the mark in realizing what they claim to offer.

Cons:

- The beds are beyond bad. A serious investment needs to be made to upgrade the mattresses. Currently they have cheap mattresses on a wooden support. My back was killing me after the first night and after the second I needed multiple Advil just to move. 

- The place lacks anywhere to sit inside other than the bed. There is room for a chair and an inexpensive one could easily be added.

- Folding luggage racks would also be a great addition for a small investment. 

- Security is not good at all. There is a basic bike lock on the gate to get in. Not the easiest to get at and manipulate, especially in the dark, but also one that could be easily cut off. Most of the time, the gate was propped open leaving no security. As there is no employee on site in case of emergency and they freely admit that cell service is spotty at best, improving their security should be their number one priority followed by replacing the mattresses in the cottages.

- The cottage doors all have keypads but not all work properly. I certainly hope they change the codes on a weekly/monthly basis because the codes are almost identical from cottage to cottage to cottage. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out and then your cottage could easily be accessed by another guest while you were away.

-  No wifi.  They have DishTV but no wifi. Big drawback. And the DishTV? Not many options. I couldn't watch a nationally televised football game. The television itself is also ridiculously small.  Not much larger than a computer screen. Considering how inexpensive flat screen TVs are these days, they should have larger ones in the units.

- Overall the cleanliness was pretty good but when I took off one of the decorative pillows from my side of the bed, I found a dead fly attached. Gross.

- The pillows were horrible, too. They should be replaced at least yearly. You can get fairly good ones for $8 (with coupon) at Bed,Bath & Beyond. What they had was very inferior and basically unusable.

- The climate control was very complicated. There was a 6 page user manual that my engineer husband actually had to read to figure it out. 

Yes there was a small microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, iron, and ironing board. But if you can't sleep well because the mattress is so bad, those amenities mean nothing.

I do like the idea of the place. It's cute and convenient to several wedding venues. However if I had to do it over, I'd save money and stay at the Holiday Inn unless I was sure that the upgrades suggested above had been made.

Cute idea but misses the mark

I stayed at the The Stellar House for a friend’s wedding this past weekend. 
I wish the weather would have cooperated but regardless it is a great place to stay. Especially with wedding venues in the Hill Country, it is a great place to stay esp. after wedding fun!  There was plenty of space for the wedding party and the sleeping arrangements were great!  This place is a genius idea for the area♥️My parents live down the street and couldn’t wait to tell them about the Liney Moon that they pass daily.  We will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful Venue

You can’t beat the night sky view with no one around and just enjoying the Texas beauty with friends. Perfect location, perfect accommodations, perfect getaway. This will be the only place I’ll stay in that area in the future.

Amazing Relaxing Location

We were here for a family wedding that was held near this property. As a result there were a wide range of ages staying at The Liney Moon. I will speak to the King Cottages only, even though our son stayed at the Steller House I am not fully aware of the situation at that location.

The cottages are cute, clean and different, located in Texas Hill Country which is the pretty part of Texas. The property is nicely designed and laid out.  However, the cottages appeared to be designed for the  cottages younger generation and not the older generation. There is no door key or swipe card which again makes it hard for the older generation. We had to help them lock and unlock their door each time.

Not being from Texas I am not sure how ADA building codes work in Texas but one set of Grandparents had to be moved off the property before staying one night because there are no railings on the 3-4 steps needed to get into the cottages. The other grandparent was unable to shower or bath because there is no handrail in the showers or tubs. I am truly surprised that this place passed inspection for public use. I have to assume they fell under a law pertaining to short-term rental versus hotel/motel rental which precludes them following ADA codes.

Items not provided is a shower rug for the floor, so we used a towel. There are no water glasses, though you could use the paper coffee cups and then wash and rinse to reuse. Hangers are cheap simple wire hangers. Good luck with heat and A/C system. You are given six pages to read and I was lost on the directions because this is not a system I am familiar with. We arrived when it was cool and changed to warm. There are no chairs in the rooms (there is room for one too) only a too soft of bed that hurt my back to sit on. I guess you could bring the porch chairs inside. The floor is not carpeted, so bring slippers.  They proved two non-working night lights. No paper and pen to write with, though people had scribbled on their heat pump operation instruction book. Refrigerators are beverage coolers, not that that will make a big difference.

Another annoying issue is “the rules”.  And I must say I hate hard and fast rules with no wiggle room. For example, must vacate precisely at 11a or will be charged $100. May request a late checkout but what they don’t tell you ahead of arriving ( you learn this the morning of arrival via an email) is that if you don’t request 48 hours in advance . . . Another $100 charge!  Can’t check in a minute early without same “rules”.  

All bookings are done online. You never meet a real person. Don’t try calling with questions before arrival because they will NOT return your call, so I didn’t bother trying to call once there when I was fighting with the heat/AC system.

 Bottom line . . . This location might be good for a family gathering assuming the older generation was fully ambulatory and did not need the use of railings anywhere.

Not Recommended for Senior Citizens 

We stayed here for two nights the very end of February while visiting family nearby.  We would stay here again.  It would be fun to stay here with a group.  We did not have the opportunity to see the main house. There wasn't a chair inside the cottage, but there were 2 chairs on the little deck.   All the units are decorated differently.  We were assigned the "wine" one.  By the way, we did visit some of the nearby wineries, including the Sidecar Tasting Room (our cottages namesake).  We received instructions in advance regarding gate code and cottage code etc.  The only minor problem was we arrived in the dark.  The Liney Moon's address is 5401 W Fitzhugh.  Gate 2 is not on Fitzhugh Rd, it is on McGregor Rd.  In the daylight the next day we did see arrows showing the way at that intersection, but didn't see/notice them in the dark.  The instructions we had received did not mention this.   We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
