We needed a place to spend a night in this general vicinity, and I chose the Red Carpet Inn based on online reviews and the low price. It has been a long time since we stayed in an old-fashioned motel, and I wasn't sure what we'd find. A mild moldy odor when I went to the office to check in did not increase my comfort level, as I waited for the clerk who finally showed up. The room turned out to be fine for our needs, old but clean, comfortable, well-maintained, and well-equipped including even microwave and refrigerator. Very slight odor, my wife thought mildew, overcome by burning the vanilla candle I  take when I travel. Minor problem with the sticking flapper valve in the toilet. Parking the car outside the door of our room was super-convenient. There is a lot of highway noise from the highway just in front of the motel, but it did not bother us. I would stay there again. As we expected, no other frills, like breakfast, were included. The room was small but adequate. We had a little difficulty getting connecting to wifi, but once we did it worked fine.

Good place to spend a night without spending a lot

We are working locally and needed a clean comfortable room to stay for 4 days. They offer a smoking room which we enjoy. The room was very clean, and comfortable. Company pays for the stay, but it was still very affordable. the TV channel selection was amazing for the cost, We've stayed at higher priced hotel/motels and they didn't offer smoking rooms or television channels like here. We will be working in the area for a few weeks and we will stay here the whole time.

Very Clean and comfortable

Recently stayed again for the 4 th time.  very good stay. CLEAN, Fridge/Micro a PLUS..I seen coffee ( Not a coffee person ) but Nice.....TV worked great, Shower good and Hot. and the price is right...  I will stay again.

We stayed there for a night. The hotel had gone through some renovation but it was a bit dated. I will say it was clean. The big thing for me was the road noise was high. Also the comforter smelled like cigarettes.

Ok but noisy

This was the best $50 I have spent in a while. We enjoyed the stay after driving for hours, was able to check in late at night to a friendly clerk gave free water and comfortable bed. Stayed twice

Pleasantly Surprised..... clean and comfortable

This is not a 4-star in the sense of a SpringHill Suites etc, but for what it is, it was a great one night stop.  Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. It was very convenient for what we needed. I would stay here again.

Great little spot to stay at while on a motorcycle Adventure or anything to do with that area.. located right on the main Highway easy to get to everything was very safe.. the room was quite clean no weird smells definitely and older Hotel slightly dated but still a great place to stay.. would definitely recommend and or stay there again when in the area with buddies looking to do some motorcycle Adventures..

Great Moto Hotel

Stayed here two nights near the completion of my Appalachian Trail hike, and wanted a place near Duncannon other than the Doyle.  Red Carpet is situated beside the busy Hwy 11, but was surprisingly quiet.  This is a basic, clean motel that distinguishes itself by the excellent personal service by the family that runs it.  They responded to every need with alacrity and cheerfulness.  Our dog was accepted graciously.

Friendly, helpful owners

I stayed here during my thru hike of the Appalachian Trail, and it is a great value.  The rooms are clean and recently refurbished very tastefully, and there is a microwave, fridge, cofeemaker, and flat screen TV in each room.  Washer and dryer on site.  The location is convenient to several hiker friendly restaurants, and the staff happily shuttled us to and from the Trail for a nominal charge. The best thing about the Red Carpet is the friendly and helpful staff--truly outstanding. All in all, a surprisingly good value. I definitely will return the next time I am in the area.
