A last minute decision to head to Glacier National park. Pulled this place off a web search. What a nice little well maintained hotel. Rooms were large, clean and very well maintained. There isn’t a lot in East Glacier but a good nights sleep and friendly staff.

Wonderful little Motel

Caution should be advised if you plan on staying at the Circle R Motel in East Glacier Park, MT. We called and made a reservation for one night at $160 and confirmed it with a credit card. When we were checking in and I gave them the credit card so that it could be run, I was told that it would be $193, and I immediately said that I was quoted, and the reservation made at the price of $160.00. I was then told that $160.00 was the CASH price and that the credit card price was $193.00. After being told that we could cancel our reservation or pay the $193.00 I said that I would go to the car for payment and not use the card. When I came back in and got out some AAA issued Traveler Checks I was told that they don’t accept anything but CASH or credit cards. Fortunately, I did have some cash and was able to use that to pay for the night.

This was clearly a bait and switch operation to get an additional $33.00 per room. I do realize that businesses pay a service fee to use charge cards in their businesses, but $33 is just theft.

Bait and Switch - Use Caution

This hotel doesn’t look very promising from the outside and it’s close to road and railway. However it was the only motel left open in Glacier at the start of October! We were there with a group and I suspect some rooms were better than others. And the rear building possibly better than the front one. 

The rooms are motel style but open to (and have windows onto) an enclosed corridor. The room was quite large and we found it to be cosy and comfortable. The only thing we didn’t like was the very high bar stools and table available as the only sitting options in the room. Some people had a sofa and we were jealous!

It doesn’t do breakfast but there is a good diner nearby which does.

Better than it looks

First, I have to say I am amazed at the good reviews for this motel.  We were on motorcycles and had to get off the road because of strong winds.  The Circle R was our only option for lodging in the area.  We could not check in until 3pm.  No one was in the office or would answer the phone until 3pm.  We sat outside on a couple of plastic chairs we found until someone showed up in the office.  There was no ice, no WIFI, no breakfast.  The room was sufficient but VERY outdated.  We paid $230 for a room which we feel is outrageous for the poor amenities.  I guess the motel owners can ask this ridiculous price because of the location and time of year.  

Very Disappointed!

What a great spot! We loved the location- very close to the park entrance at Two Medicine. The family that runs it was very nice. East Glacier Park is small but there are several good restaurants nearby. Our rooms were large and clean. We will be back!

Great place to stay at Glacier!

Our room was spacious and very clean including the bathroom! We had plenty of towels, and if we needed more toilet paper or soap the cleaning staff took care of us. Our bed was very comfortable, we also had a microwave and fridge. We enjoyed our stay at this motel and the small town it’s in. 

Clean and spacious and good location! 

Clean, Quiet, great bed, great water pressure and wow can't say enough how lucky we were to find such a great room so close to park entrance. I highly recommend this place. 
We came in late in the day and were able to bed down for the night and see the beautiful park the following day. thank you for making our stay memorable. :) 

Amazingly wonderful :) 

We stayed here in late September. We had visited Browning to see the Museum of the Plains Indian and were  headed back along Route 2. We knew there weren’t many more choices along the road. It’s not awful. Old. Rundown. Staff was mediocre at best. And  it was expensive since it was one of the few places available. Warning: much was closed down in the area so check ahead! We were fine with take out sandwiches from the local market for our meal. They weren’t very good! But it was only one night in an otherwise wonderful trip!

Not much choice

We were given a “cabin” actually a modular 2 bedroom unit.  Open the door to torn linoleum and lots of flies. The frig was running, but not cooling and the freezer wasn’t freezing anything. There were three spoons and a fork in the kitchen drawer that also had mouse droppings, the glassware was dirty and there were two small plates in our “well equipped “  kitchen. No dish towels, dish rags or paper towels in the kitchen. There were so many dead bugs in the bathroom light fixture  it barely gave off light.  There were no pillowcases on the pillows that had black hair, the bathroom floor was dirty and had hair on the floor  There was wiring for four smoke alarms, but they had been removed and there was no carbon monoxide alarm.

Dirty, unsafe and overpriced

Staff were friendly but other than that I don't have much positive to say. The room was dirty. didn't look like it had been swept, someone else's hair was in the bed and the sheets looked like they'd been slept in. my first few minutes in the room I spent killing yellow jacket bees and flies. I asked for a different room and was told I was out of luck and no refund. I would expect to pay 70 dollars for a comparable hotel not 270 dollars. Also the "Room" I rented wasn't anywhere near the hotel. It was about a mile away which was really uncomfortable since I was traveling alone and the town is VERY rundown. I had difficulty sleeping because I didn't fee
