I stayed at this hostel during my labor day vacation. The location of the hostel is very convenient, especially if you want to ride the Cape Cod rail trail, which is a couple minutes away. There is also a beach nearby (5-10 minutes bike ride), where you can catch the beautiful sunset. The staffs at the hostel are very friendly and the complimentary breakfast they provided was one of the best I have ever had in the hostels in US (Many varieties of food, not just pancake and coffee). They have a well equipped kitchen and even a outdoor grill for guests' use. I happened to read the binder they have in the communal kitchen about the history of this hostel. I found this is one of the oldest hostels in the Cape and in US, and not much has changed since the beginning.
A few tips: This is one of the older hostels in US. You can feel the age of the facility (for example, small bathrooms, outdoor shower/small shower room). Everything are still fully functional, but you might need to set proper expectations. Bring eye mask and earplugs if you are sensible to the light/noise during sleep (They have quiet hour, but it was not strictly enforced during my stay). Also if you need to charge your electronic devices, power outlet is very hard to find in dorm cabins, you might want to do it in the common area.

Historic hostel with convenient location

Super friendly staff, VERY clean sleeping areas, bathrooms, and kitchen & dining areas!!! Very impressed! Great conversation with some REALLY cool folks, as well. Loved the vibe, loved the location, LOVED the price!!! $75 for 2 nights - you can NOT beat that ANYWHERE along the Cape!! I WILL be back in the fall - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

WOW!!! AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!

We had the cabin right at the back, small but clean. Unfortunately it's a "long walk" at night to the bathroom in the dark, but otherwise it was the perfect place! Friendly staff, huge fridges for the guests and a brilliant breakfast (if you're early...)

Loved our stay!

I stayed at HI-Eastham for two nights in late June 2016 and was so pleased with my stay. Its location near the Cape Cod Rail Trail is fantastic. I wish I'd had longer so I could have ridden out to the beach, too. I paid for a private cabin the first night and shared a cabin with two others the second night. In keeping with my hosteling experience elsewhere on Cape Cod, the friendliness of the staff and fellow guests turned out to be a real highlight. Fun to share our daily adventures (many involving biking) over breakfast or perhaps dinner, or play an evening board game. The breakfasts here were especially good, including hard-boiled eggs as well as the standard yogurt, granola, etc. Night owls, take note: Quiet hours start at 10pm. Buildings are very much like a summer camp, with smaller cabins surrounding a main building. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Friendly & great for cyclists!

Stayed there for two nights, loved it!  Lovely cabins, good location for cyclists (just off the CCRT) and the feeling that you are camping in the forest. The serve the best breakfast I've had at any hostel - cereal, coffee, fruit, toast, jams and  more - all free. The staff were so nice and welcoming. And the outdoor shower is divine on a hot day!
