Stopped at this hotel on our trip across country. We like to stay at small hotels to support the local economy. This hotel was a disappointment due to the curtains unable to close completely as the hooks were off, the shower didn’t work. I tried to turn on the water and the knob came right off! So unable to turn the water on. There was not any coffee available in the morning either in the room or the lobby, which was
Locked. The reason I gave it a 3 is because the bed was really comfortable and there was a pleasant outside sitting area.

C & H Motel

If you  have no choice but to stay in El Dorado Springs then this place is your only option. If you can stay in Nevada. The owners have no pride in this place, the rooms are all non smoking but smell like smoke.  They do not clean well, the towels, and wash cloths were thread bare and we went and bought our own. The pillows were tiny, bathtub did not run well and did not drain and the tub was dirty and had soap and shampoo left in in from the last guests. I've stayed in hotels for the same price that were sparkling clean and served breakfast. We could not connect to the wife despite the fact that we supposedly had the password.

Avoid this hotel

I have been to this hotel a couple months back and at that time I was not impressed. However they have a nice lady by the name of Jen running it now and she seems very on top of things. She is very friendly and the rooms have been redone and are up to my standards. I will definitely return here when I come to town to visit.

I was impressed

I have stayed in some run down places before in my 61 years and I am not a hotel snob. I do not need fine accommodations, but this place is a wreck! Where do I start? The city should condemn this place. Front doors are paper thin with gaps underneath the door. Any heavy shove from outside would open the door to your room. Any creature that wants in can crawl through the gap underneath the door. In spite of requesting a non smoking room, the sidewalk directly in front of the room was littered with cigarette butts and the room smelled heavily of smoke. The room looked like it had not been cleaned in months; dust and debris on all the flat surfaces. Sheets and towels were essentially rags. Carpet was so dated and dirty, I was afraid to walk on it without shoes. Worst of all, they were apparently having plumbing problems, since my toilet wouldn't flush properly and feces from other rooms were coming up in my toilet! This is no exaggeration! I guess the owner was on vacation and they had a young lady running the place, but she was more interested in talking on her cell phone than trying to assist the few people that were there. Seriously, the city or county health agency should look into closing this place down. The town of El Dorado Springs is a very nice community, but surely they could do better than to let this place continue to operate.

Disgusting/Filthy/Floating Turds

The room smelled so bad from stale smoke and moldy smell, I could not stop coughing. Asked for a different room and it was in the same condition. Manager very rude, carpet stained, room dirty. Manager not willing to refund our money. Manager pulled bedding back in place, after husband laid on bed, then locked door when we decided not to stay!lol

Stay away from El Dorado Springs, MO

Stayed years ago and it was quaint, clean and respectable. I arrived to a filthy front desk area that made me uneasy. I opened the door to my room to an odor only described as cat urine. The carpet was filthy, the pillows had black on them and the walls were splattered with something unknown. I immediately got my dog out of the room so her paws cold be wiped off. I tried to get my money back and was verbally attacked by the front desk man and a woman and a young boy. The were screaming at me to get off the property which my sister in law could hear from the phone. They called the police as I was standing against my car trying to find another hotel. The officer was very nice and implied I didn't want to stay there. They are very much aware of the problems there. The officer was very kind. I stayed in Nevada at a clean and welcoming hotel. It was well worth 20 miles. It is such a shame as that motel was very clean and nice years back.

Filthy, wacked out manager

Relatives were coming to town for a car show. She made reservations for two nights and gave their credit card number. They went in to register and were told they didn't have a room for them. It seems they were remodeling some of the rooms and the ones they had were filled. I can understand remodeling and even not having a room. My problem is they never called or emailed to tell the relatives that they were canceling their reservations. That's pretty poor management!! And it would be common courtesy to let people travel 150 miles that they wouldn't have a room. In my opinion you are better off staying in Nevada. It is just 20 miles down 54 Highway.
