This is a quaint 1950’s motel that has been drastically upgraded and improved.  The rooms are quite modern and very clean.  Located on US 20 in Erie.  Surrounding neighborhood looks to be very safe.  The furniture is a little bit old and has seen some wear.  The linens were rather disappointing.  The sheets were very thin and worn.  The blankets could date back to the 1970’s by their appearance.  Good TV with Spectrum cable.  Bathroom was very upgraded.  Beds were much too hard and were made very poorly.  Sheets pulled right off the mattress when I turned down the bed.  The breakfast foods were a laugh.  Raisin Bran or Cheerios with milk.  Little tiny cakes and brownies.  If I knew that was the fair, I may not have booked.  The place is family run and that is a plus but they really need to get their act together with new bed linens and teaching their staff how to make a bed.  If you stay go to McDonald’s for breakfast.  It will be American Fast Food but it’s better than cold cereal.  I may stay again, knowing the weaknesses, just remake the bed to your tastes and eat out.

Safe, clean and no frills hotel!

Here's my tip for travelers regarding the pictures posted by the hotel and travelers: check the dates on those pictures. We just stayed last week and the pictures provided on Trip Advisor, Google etc., are misleading and in my mind so are the reviews. 

Learned a lesson with this stay..

This little place reminded me of the family-owned motels my parents took us kids to in the '60s.  They've updated the amenities while keeping the same "old time" feel.  The small bathroom was completely updated, and the room was very clean.  There's a free, nice breakfast in the office area.

The best part, though, was the kindness of the manager or owner when we left there leaving some of our clothes in the closet.  We got a call when we were a couple hours away telling us we had forgotten our clothing and offering to have the items sent to us.  They made arrangements with UPS to have the clothes delivered to us, using our credit card number with our permission.  After a call from UPS confirming the cost, our clothes (including the wire hangers!) arrived at our doorstep the next day.  There was no extra charge from the hotel.

So thank you, Glass House Inn owners.  We would like to stay with you again next time we're in the Erie area.

Very clean and nice room.   Screened windows for fresh air - if desired.  Looked newly renovated.  Convenient parking right in front of your room.  Friendly staff.   Would stay there again, based on our experience.

The family that runs it r so nice and eager to please u. They take pride in giving the best experience possible. I can’t say enough. We get four rooms and our kids come too so it’s very memorable

July fourth vacation

This was our second time staying here. The room had many pleasant updates, the beds were comfortable and the staff very helpful and pleasant. Our only regret was the breakfast that was advertised was not available due to renovations. All in all an excellent choice. Great value for money.

Very pleasant stay

Stayed here for just one night while passing through the area, based mostly on all of the fantastic reviews that we saw on TripAdvisor, but also on the reasonable rates as well. Seeing that it is an older motel, we tempered our expectations, and I’m glad that we did. While the owners are very kind and are working very hard to renovate the motel, it’s not for everyone. Our room was indeed clean, and the bathroom was beautifully renovated, however sleep quality lacked for us personally. While the mattress may suit some, we found it somewhat uncomfortable (we prefer a softer mattress generally). But what we found most disturbing to our sleep was the noise in the room,  You may need to choose which is more important to you, refrigerated goods or quiet. We had to shut our fridge off because of the noise. But once that noise was solved, we became much more aware of another…traffic. This motel is situated quite close to a busy four lane highway that only goes reasonably quiet for a few hours in the middle of the night, if you’re a deep sleeper, perhaps not an issue. But if you’re a light sleeper, you may want to consider staying elsewhere. Again, value for money, this place is still hard to beat. But given the fact that we’re light sleepers ourselves, we’ll likely explore other options next time through.

Glass House? Why yes! Soundproof glass? Sorry, no.

My husband and I stayed Sunday night and we loved it. The rooms are clean and inexpensive...which is not normally the case. No rugs , which I adored , smelt so much cleaner and newly remodeled bathrooms. The area was safe and surrounded by food choices. If your looking for an affordable motel this is the one. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Great stay

This hotel was easy to get to. It's all on one floor & there's ample parking. There's a pool & a gazebo. It's clean & there's shrubs around each unit. The office area is clean & the staff is friendly. Check in is quick & easy. My room was clean & the bed was comfortable. This hotel is close to lots of restaurants & to Presque Isle Park. 

Trip to Erie

While we didn't stay at the motel, my experience with the staff was less than admirable.  I had booked a room for one night to attend a memorial service in Erie.  However the service was canceled because the wife of the deceased came down with Covid. I realize there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.  While the manager did make an exception and did not charge me he and the person who answered the phone were extremely rude .   We will not be staying here when the service is rescheduled!
