Noise level very high from traffic. Shower is the size of a phone booth. Manager was less than charming. Every chrome surface was covered in rust spots. Wall next to the sink had what appeared to be a bloody spot that once was in a nostril. Gross. Ironing board had a torn cover. 

Would not stay again.

I booked this room for 9/04 on a dog friendly website.  When I arrived the man in the booth said they did not allow dogs and would not honor my reservations.  It was last minute on labor day weekend and I had to find another place to stay.  The man said I would not be charged since they were the ones to cancel my reservation.  However, he lied, and they  did charge me for 9/05.

Not family friendly and lied.

My buddy and I booked rooms here online.  We paid $160 ish for a queen bed room that comes with microwave, mini-fridge etc.  I'll be honest, they are not keeping this Inn up well.  The furniture is random, the bed felt like a waterbed filled with jello and they really are not managing the effects of ocean side weather on metal and wood. I won't be returning here. I will likely risk Super 8 or maybe even Motel 6.
I will stated one thing, the service at the desk was quick, and polite, with recommendations on where to eat or hang out in town that were spot on.

The website is better than reality

I booked a room at Sea Drift Inn with my valid credit card on Booking.com's website for my daughter (and granddaughter) who was in transit from visiting me in Toledo, OR to return to Petaluma, CA. via a stop for the night in Eureka, CA. Upon arrival the establishment's representative refused to rent her the room without myself and my credit card present. How could I be present when we were not traveling together?  My daughter offered her credit card and was refused. She therefore had to leave the premises and locate a hotel elsewhere. The representative onsite at Sea Drift Inn also accused my daughter of lying when she stated she had been driving for seven hours. No services were rendered, no room was occupied. Booking.com referred me to the "fine print" on their website which stated the cardholder had to be present.  Yet, the registration form online provides a field for a different guest's name. I contacted the property directly about the matter. To date, no response has been received.  There is a charge pending on my credit card for the reservation.  That, in and of itself, is unethical. 
Buyer Beware!  Read the fine print and then decide if the hotel is a place with which you wish to do business.

Management Is Unethical

Pros: They appear to be wrapping up renovations - it appears they were recently a Rodeway Inn. Furniture seems mostly modern. Mattress was very comfortable with sufficient pillows (including an extra in a dresser drawer). Microfridge present with separate freezer section. Very fast WiFi. 

Cons: Only major problem was shower temp. I turned the shower all the way to hot and let it flow for 3-4 minutes and only got lukewarm water. Over the course of my 4-5 minute shower, it also got progressively colder. Beyond this, I prefer when renovations remove carpeting instead of adding new carpeting, especially in a coastal, recreational community where sand and dirt can easily be tracked in (but this carpet was clean). A few of the fixtures could have used repair or cleaning from rust. Breakfast not present despite being advertised on Trip Advisor (but I also acknowledge that they are not Trip Advisor... My original reservation did not include promise of breakfast).

Bottom Line: I really wanted to give 5 stars because my stay was nearly perfect up until my morning shower. I would consider returning if they figure out what's going on with their hot water. Since many of the pics for this hotel seem dated, I've also uploaded a few so you get a sense of what renovated rooms look like (forgive the unmade bed).

Excellent stay... Except for the lukewarm shower.

My significant other and I checked in late with no problem. The woman at the desk was pleasant. Our room was clean, although dated: The services directory still had Rodeway Inn as the name of the motel. There were very limited amenities. Most disturbing, was that there was only half a roll of toilet paper on the roll, and no other for replacement, even though there were two dispensers. Well, ok, we were only going to be there one night, and hopefully, it would be enough. We we too tired from our long drive up from San Francisco to worry about it. The shower had good pressure, and plenty of hot water, and the bed was comfortable, so we had a good night’s sleep. In the morning, we went to find the beautiful dining room that was pictured on their website, to have the complimentary breakfast that was advertised. There was none to be found. I questioned the man at the front desk, who told me there was no breakfast. When I told him it was on their website, he told me it wasn’t, and told me to show him, which I did. He said he did not know about that, and seemed irritated that I was able to prove him wrong. We would have been ok, if the advertisement had reflected the actual services, but we felt it was misleading. The pretty pictures are NOTHING like the actual motel. For $110 we expected more. This was one of the worst lodging experiences we have ever had, and we will DEFINITELY NOT be returning.

Misleading Advertising

We booked for 2 nights thru booking. Com.   Booking and google search said it was pet friendly.  It was not.  We unloaded and I took our 7 lb chorike for a walk as soon as we unloaded.   On my way back to the room the lady that checked us in was waiting and said no pets.  She said she asked and he said no pets. He says he did not. She had him sign a paper that said not pets he did sign because he couldn’t understand her and just signed. Thought it was just normal required   She kicked us out, and charged us $200 be cause we took a dog into a non pet room then corrected her self about no pets. The dog wasn’t in that room for more than about ten minutes, in her doggie bed on the floor.  When hubby went to try and her very large husband got totally pissed at my hubby so we left.  I would NEVER recommend doing business with these totally unreasonable people again.  We went down to Super 8 and got a better room for a better price!  It appears it used to be a Roadway Inn, but has dropped in class from theM. The carpet was nasty any where a vacuum couldn’t reach. Guess they don’t have a wand attachment.

I went to check in and the man was so rude,  walked in room  smelled like rotting garbage.  Sticky stains all over carpet . Asked for another room  he threw key at my and said YOU GO NOW. Opened door and  be fore we walked in my child said dad it smells like a ashtry .Told manager and he said F**KYOU! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE! Went to another hotel downtown .STAY AWAY

Discusting  EWWWW!!!

One of the grossest hotels i’ve stayed in. I asked for a partial refund, to which they refused. Management said there was nothing wrong with the room, which was totally incorrect. Floors were sticky, there was gunk on the comforter, stains on the sheets, dirt in the towels, scraps on the floor, a dirty shower and unclean surfaces. DO NOT STAY!!!! Disgusting hotel, especially considering we’re still in a pandemic!!!

HORRIBLE

Best Western was $99, Quality Inn was $79, but I got this place last minute for $59. Check in was fast and friendly and while they were not able to accommodate my request for a second floor room, the room I got was very clean. It is an older property that has been well renovated. You do hear noise in the parking lot and doors shutting but I set the fan on the HVAC to run and slept very well. Real happy with television, bathroom clean (very small shower), had an iron, microwave, and refrigerator. Given the  high prices for hotels in Eureka, this place was an excellent value proposition. I will be back if passing through. This is a 3 star but I rated it 4 because of their value for the money.
