Falling Waters

This was the worst place we have stayed in quite some time, most likely ever.

The person at the front desk did not provide any welcome or greeting, she just said, “Your last name,” “ID please,” and then “credit card.”

Positives of this Property:
*It’s right next to I-81;
*If you want fast food or to visit Wal-Mart they are across the street;
*The vinyl floor appeared to be new; and
*Plenty of hot water and water pressure.

Negatives outweighed the positives:
*Motel is in the middle of an asphalt (parking lot) jungle in front though there is some green space out behind the motel;
*The room was damp and was located at the end of a dark hall;
*It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but it smelled perhaps like smoke (and there was a burn on the bedspread), but maybe it was mildew or just musty;
*The room was spartan, with a king-size bed and little else other than an extremely small, dorm-sized shelf. It appeared to be clean but in addition to the burn mentioned above the bedspread also had a purple stain;
*There were cars with different types of damage in the parking lot - such as a missing front bumper and grill. We parked our car away from the room, under a light because we didn’t feel safe leaving it near the room;
*There was no shampoo or conditioner in the room. Also no hair dryer. In the shower there was nowhere to put soap or the shampoo and conditioner we bought across the street. You had to balance all of it on side of tub;
*The tub floor was very slippery and there was no mat or nonslip strips, though it was nice to have a grab bar;
*The included wi-fii was painfully slow, literally taking minutes to download the Motel 6 welcome page aka ad;
*There were no instructions on how to use the confusing TV/remote, and we had to walk down to the lobby to ask; and
*Finally, there was no way to check out when we left in the morning. The office was closed and though the sign said to push the buzzer, no one answered. We went back, put the key card in the room, and left.

We were grateful to only be at this property one night. We spent a little more than $100 for the night for one king-size bed with two people and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Run, Don't Walk, to Somewhere Else

If you're traveling on I-81 looking for a pet-friendly motel in which to stay, this is the place for you! Was moving daughter and her 2 dogs to Martinsburg but house wasn't ready. Found this motel online and didn't know what to expect. Was so pleased to find an immaculately clean, cheerful room with vinyl plank floors (no carpet or odors) , comfortable beds, good tv with cable, microwave and refrigerator. The owners are onsite and were very friendly, responsive, and helpful. No food served but numerous restaurants are within walking distance and other retail a short drive away. The grounds are HUGE, with a large football field-size grass area to walk and exercise the dogs. Poop bags with disposal provided and guests all appeared to use them. Since it is dog-friendly there was a comraderic-atmosphere (travelers with pets in tow) including the onsite pup "Buddy"! I can't say enough good things about what was a very pleasant motel stay.

Dog Friendly Gem

No frills pet friendly motel. Standard fare for a modern motel 6. Friendly staff at check in. Well lit large parking area. Minutes from town conveniently right off highway 81. Clean room, linens and towels, hot shower, good AC. Fridge, freezer and microwave

Clean, convenient, quiet and safe

Extremely clean, renovated, well managed, dog friendly motel!The grounds are large and beautifully landscaped.
The proprietors are friendly and accommodating.
Everything is the room world well and was comfortable.
I will return on future trips up and down I81.

Motel 6 Martinsburg recommend

The property appeared well maintained. The staff member who checked us in was very pleasant. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. We look forward to staying there again.

Nice place to stay

The Motel is very clean. The pictures are identical to what the property is actually like. It is very affordable. They are very helpful. It is a pet friendly (did not charge for my pet).  It is well lite.

Extended stay

This is one of the best Motel 6 hotels that I have stayed at. It's updated and very clean. The rooms are spacious. Our room came with a microwave and fridge at no extra charge unlike some of the other Motel 6 hotels. There's a small table and chairs to have a quick bite instead of having to sit on the bed. The tv is built into the wall and there's an HDMI cable to use. The front of the hotel is very nice and extremely well lit. I will definitely be staying there again.

Overnight stay

Beautiful site, so safe! With these days of rushing and corner-cutting this Motel 6 is consistently Safe! Clean! Modern! The lovely landscaping is just wonderful for walking yourself or your pet. Rooms so clean the bathtub invites you in for a soak. The owners are wonderful, kind, smart, hardworking folk that strive to provide their guests with total comfort and safety. As a solo widow this is my go-to motel for my MA to FL commutes and this Motel 6 never disappoints! Bravo Motel 6 Martinsburg VA!!

Five Star Motel

I've been staying at this location for the last 5 days with my children & Husband .. its been a very nice stay .. the staff are the sweetest people .. its been very quite and had NO Drama while staying there .. No BUGS and very clean .. I recommend staying here if your passing through West Virginia.. Nowhere else in Martinsburg will you have a pleasant stay .. 

BEST HOTEL IN MARTINSBURG 

Stayed overnight with friends to break up 700 mile road trip. Not my first time here. I really enjoy this Motel 6, and choose to stay here over the next closest options, even though it is usually a few dollars more expensive. 

The motel is right off the interstate with easy access, but just far away with tree breaks that minimize the road noise. It's set back from the highway a little with no other business right on top of it. The green space in front is always nicely mowed and clean, and great for dog walking. The owners seemingly also add new trees out front between my visits. The front is classic and clean looking, with a simple layout, spacious, open and well lit parking lot, which feels safe when traveling solo.

The front office is immaculately clean, and the staff always friendly and helpful. Morning beverage station is always clean, tidy and well stocked. I have stayed in multiple rooms over the years and they have all, without exception, been very well maintained and exceptionally clean. I have never seen a dirty bedspread, or blanket, nor had anything but bright white soft sheets and towels. Air conditioners, fridges and microwaves have always functioned as expected, and well. I must admit I've probably never turned the tv on, but have used the wifi with no complaint.

The family that runs this Motel 6 are very friendly and helpful, tending to the gardens, rooms and general public areas seems like a full time very lengthy day for them, but there is always a smile and pleasant chat. 

I've stayed in many interstate motels, and many Motel 6s. I really feel that Motel 6 should have a designation or award that signifies that a property in their brand is a little above and beyond the mainstream. This property would definitely qualify.
