My friends and I went to stay here for the weekend while taking a day trip to the Grand Canyon. Staying at this motel was a pleasant experience. It was clean and the beds were comfy. This motel is also only a short distance from downtown flagstaff.

Nice, clean hotel

I had stayed at this motel several years ago and was not impressed but had been told that they had made many upgrades on the place and wanted to check it out for myself. Wow, was I really impressed to see the changes that they had made. They no longer have that raunchy carpet but really nice flooring, nicely painted rooms. The beds were comfy and they now have microwave and fridge in the rooms. As well as new a/c-heating units. There is coffee and other items at the front office now. The lady at the desk was quite cheerful and helpful with the new things in the area. There is a I-Hop just about a block down the street that is open 24/7. There is a Walgreens just down the block as well. There is a another new place called Texas Road House which isn't too bad of a place for dinner. So if you want a decent place to stay, whether it be for a day or several days this would be a place I would recommend, it may look a little dated on the outside but you will be impressed with the rooms.

Quite impressed

Found this place at 1:36 am when most places were full. Rooms are super basic only frill is a big flat screen TV with local channels.

Pros: Good heater and plenty of hot water, good location right off of the old 66. 
Cons I was overcharged $10.00, when I called the motel and left a message, they failed to return my call.
If there were a ranking of average minus that is what I would have given this place.

Basic but warm!

It saved my night but looking back it was truly an experience. We had been driving quite far looking for a place to sleep for hours but everything was sold out or insane expensive for hours due to the holidays. We end up trying at the Pinecrest Motel and we get the last room for 102 USD! The room was located next to the caretakers office and being Indian our room also smelled of curry but we got a roof over our head. The bed was nice and clean. The door into the room was not too tight so the wind was blowing heavily through the door. The heating was just perfect for a really cold day but the shower was totally crazy, one moment it was the Niagara Falls and next it was a dry creek in Arizona. We managed to get some sleep which was the most important but it was also a night to remember!

We are currently guests here..
The interior of the rooms are ok..You can tell they were "upgraded " at some point.. In our microwave we found a bag of now extremely defrosted and raunchy peas.. Not great for spending $345 on two nights 
Breakfast isn't included in that.. 
The "fold out " bed for an extra sleeper is a futon..like metal bar in your back futon.. I recommend going somewhere else if you expect a decent night sleep as well... Train.. Traffic..

Overpriced  Motel...

The inside of this room wasn't bad. Very clean. The trouble was the undesirables living there full time and hanging around the motel at night. Gave us an unsafe feeling but everything turned out okay. 

Other reviews don't tell the whole story

The exterior was being painted and there was no door on our room when we arrived. We had to wait an hour for a door to be put on. The paint was still sticky and some pulled off every time we opened the door. 

The people who run this place are very nice and trying to make it better. But it is still an old property on a noisy street. Between the cars, the train, the thin walls, it is not a quiet place. Just know what you are getting.

The price is good, the beds are clean, the bathroom is clean.  For one night it is adequate.



Old and noisy

The person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful but I had to wait a significant time waiting at the front desk before a person arrived to help me. For the price paid the room was of poor quality.  It did had a bad odor to it which I eventually got kind of used to and was not very clean.  I would have felt better about staying here had it not been so expensive, but apparently it was a very busy weekend in Flagstaff.  Plus I had noisy neighbors.

Friendly but poor quality for price

We arrived at a completely reasonable hour for a tourist location like Flagstaff (before 8:30pm). There was no management on property so I had to call a number on the door (limited check-in hours not posted online). I was told my key was left with a “friend” in the office and to ring the bell - management would need my ID to check me in “later,” however. Did they plan to knock on my door to verify my ID after I’d gone to bed? The parking lot has very few lights (one broken and flickering) so it didn’t feel safe to leave my car. Because there’s no management onsite, two rooms of guests were just openly partying outside the rooms with doors open, just a few yards from our assigned room. All this for $97? I booked a different hotel - clean, well-lit, quiet - for less on my phone and then left the key in the drop box. Called management to let them know why I was leaving, but not holding my breath for a refund.
