We had a great weekend experience at Rocky Gap Casino and Resort. We were celebrating our friend’s birthday. Check in was smooth. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The on site restaurants were friendly and the food was good. Prices not bad. They have happy hour specials. The outdoor space is spectacular! Private beach area, tons of outdoor seating around the beautiful lake. Live music on the weekends and many bonfire seating areas. We especially loved the pavilion seating
area with views of the duck families and gorgeous lake. We even did a little fishing from the pavilion, ordered pizza from the grill and sat there and had a lovely time. Casino was fun!  Be sure to collect your $15 free play credit. I did and walked away with $115 in slot winnings! Will definitely return!

Couples Weekend at Rocky Gap

The check in process was a nightmare.  Much time and confusion at the registration desk after my host had everything arranged properly.  No water in the room. Upon check out, I couldn’t get a receipt because the printer wasn’t working and was told it would be emailed to me.  That didn’t happen either.  Customer service failed.

Registration problems.

The positives: We have been coming to Rocky Gap since 2000 and love the beautiful lake. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had a nice time having appetizers, beer, and listening to a singer at Signatures on Saturday afternoon. The casino was fun evening entertainment, even though we lost. 

The negatives: Constant music playing outside. The live musicians have to compete with it. Yes, the music through the speakers continues during their performances. 
We went out to enjoy the sunrise and coffee by the lake, but it was ruined by the incessant music. 
The morning music was especially bad. The afternoon music was decent songs, just not appropriate to have it competing  with the musician. 
There was no  serenity on the resort grounds!

I always have a great time at Rocky Gap.  Such a beautiful place.  This time though I do have a few negative items. I love the new beach area, but the lounge chairs were uncomfortable and could have used some cushions, plus were at a slope so you were always sliding out. The cabana rental price (75) for a day seems high.  The pool had no towels for 2 days. The air conditioner in our room kept breaking. We called maintenance and he said if you put the temp too low it locks up.  It did it several times while we were there.  Luckily we saw what he did to fix and learned not to set temp below 70.

Enjoyed our time - but a few negatives

Well since the new owners took over it has gone way down hill. After a long drive ( 4 hours ) we tried the pizza at the lobby bar when we got it to the room it was barely cooked with raw dough. The next morn we went to the pool no towels, i knocked on the door across from the pool and a 20 year old said go to the front desk ,I asked can you call please he said no. I went to the front desk another 20 year old ( Raven said it would be 30,  minutes for towels. I requested a manager she said no manager she was the supervisor and in charge and would call after taking care of the next guest I said am i not a guest she was nasty and rude. 1 hour later still no towels.

New Owners Bad Owners Bad Food Worse Service.

The casino has new branding and the hotel portion is Best Western. I booked using reward points, was a 6 day ordeal. No bottled water provided. We were asked if we planned to use the pool or hot tub, not sure why they ask. We said no, but paid a resort fee anyway. 
Friends get a $75 food voucher, 1 time use, either spend it all or lose remainder, went to the Signatures Bar and Grill to redeem. 2 couples, 1 bill. They hand over voucher, we give credit card, telling waitress, use this and charge rest to card. She divides bill in half, takes $40 off voucher, they lost $35 earned reward. Charges our card $40. They said it couldn’t be undone, voucher is 1 time use. Frustrating. 
Room was adequate with a great view. We had room 521 with a lake and Mountain View. Beautiful. Bedding wasn’t smooth, makes you look to see if it’s clean. 
We checked in after dark and headed to the casino. Busy but not cramped. Slots were paying. Saw a dozen or so hand pays in 2 hours. 
Had a late night pizza from the lobby bar. It was ok. I’d probably skip it. 
The next morning we had coffee and muffins in the lobby cafe. Then headed to the casino. Security at casino entrance carded my husband but not me. I find this rude and disrespectful. Either card both or neither. Don’t make a woman question her   appearance. We decided to spend our hard earned money elsewhere. Checked out and departed.

Quick easy check in. Great transition to new cards and ownership. We've been coming here for the last 5 years from Pa. One of my favorite experiences is the Lobby lounge Cafe because of Keinen Harper... He is just a delight. Friendly and funny, he takes such good care of all orders. Does an amazing job when it's busy too😁

Save your money! SERIOUSLY!!
I booked a room, arrived and there was hoards of people in the lobby. The casino was closed for reward card updating on the slot machines. They put on social media that it would be operational at 6pm. I got into my room, dropped off my luggage and decided to get a bite to eat. I noticed there was no water or amenities in the room for the ridiculously high “resort fee”. I questioned a tall blond older lady at the desk. She stated it would be taken care of. When I returned to my room, nothing. I decided to message via social media. They responded very rudely then scrubbed my comment! So, I decided to message privately and once again they were extremely rude. I asked what was I paying that $25 for??? I asked why I had a bunch of lady bugs flying around my room … where is my soap … my coffee, my water?!?! They replied and said to call the front desk. I did and no response, they wouldn’t answer!!!! I tried to reply back via the messenger and they freakin blocked me!? Whatttttt?! So, I go back downstairs and couldn’t get near the desk, tons of people waiting to get in the casino opening at 6pm as posted on social media. Hahahahaha ummmm NO. They had maybe 60-70 slot machines available after being shut down from 5am - 6pm. Tragic! Also, no points were accumulated for the money dumped in the machine. I don’t know if this place is under new management but EPIC FAILURE!!! Inexcusable!!! They should not charge people $25 for things they do not provide. They should not make false claims on social media. Clearly they like to scrub any comments that question wth is going on? Then when you ask privately, they block you! Also ….
When I checked out the next day there was a young man at the desk. He said he had no idea why I had bugs in my room, no idea why I didn’t have water, soap or coffee. No explanations, no credit on bill and conveniently no manager, no adult was available to speak to me. Horrible experience and never, ever again. 

Terrible!!!!!

First time here at the resort. Just went for an overnight visit. The rooms are spacious and the shower is magnificent. It only has a half glass wall but water did not get anywhere. The food was good. We ate at the signatures restaurant for a late lunch room has a mini fridge , safe, and coffee maker . You could sit outside around fire pits. Casino is small but it was fine and the bar had frozen drinks. All staff was very friendly would come here again for an overnight. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the hot tub jets were not working and was told from another guest who also complained that they have not been working . They have an indoor heated pool, but it really wasn't that warm to get in.  Lots of golfers there. 

Great place for a getaway   

Beds and pillows were comfortable. Safe and mini fridge in room. No microwave. No coolers allowed. Shower spacious. My favorite part was drinking wine by the lake with a firepit in the evening. Parking is atrocious. Definitely not enough handicapped spaces.
