The one thing I asked for was a quiet room. I checked in on a Sunday night. Although the hotel was basically empty, I was palced next to the machinery room.   I'm been listening to washer and dryer noise since 4:30 AM. When I asked at the front desk what time does 'Quality Inn' think it's OK for noise to start- 'Lindy' the person on duty this morning at 7am June 20 , 2023. told me their is no 'quiet time' at this location. that 'guest laundry is processed as it's brought' in no matter what the time. I responded that's good to know.
I have wonder if that is  the the that is  company policy.

On June 6th, I used the Choice Hotels 1-800 number to  book a room at the Quality Inn located at 75 Spooner Road in Quincy, FL.  I informed the customer service representative that handled my booking that:  #1) I wanted to use my Reward Points to pay for the room, #2)  that I was traveling with a pet and #3) I would be checking in late.   We had a brief discussion about my dog, where she explained to me that I would have pay an extra fee outside what my Rewards Points would cover for the room. 

At 10:00 pm EST on June 6th, I arrived at the hotel.  While checking in at the front desk, the clerk asked if I had any pets to which I responded 'yes'.  I was told there were no more pet friendly rooms available.  I explained to the clerk that I had made a reservation for a pet friendly room and also informed her my dog is an 8 pound non-shedding, hypoallergenic pet.  At that time she stated she would have to call her manager and ask if I could be allowed to use a non-pet friendly room.  The manager of the hotel, Diane Bruce, refused my reservation.  At 10:00 p.m. in a town I am unfamiliar with and traveling alone, I found myself without a place to stay for the night. 

I left the hotel lobby and went to my car.  I called the Choice Hotels 1-800 number and relayed my situation.  I was put on hold for 17 minutes, after which a CSR came back on the line and informed me there were rooms available for me in Tallahassee, FL which would have been another 30 minutes away.

I decided at that time to check with the other hotels located near the Quality Inn and found that the neighboring Hampton by Hilton accepted pets so I booked a room there for the night.  What should have been a comped room with my Choice Hotel Rewards Points turned into a $235.00 expense. 

After my trip was over, I called the Quality Inn to get the managers name that refused my reservation.  The clerk I spoke with informed me that my reservation had been correct, showing a request for a pet friendly room, but that the staff at the hotel on June 6th had 'misappropriated' the rooms and had given my room away before I got there.  She stated that I should not have been turned away, that I should have been able to stay had the rooms not been mismanaged, and that the mistake was made by the hotel staff. 

The moral to this story – be cautious when making reservations with Choice Hotels.  My stay at the neighboring property, Hampton by Hilton, was short – but it was clean, quiet, comfortable, and I was met with outstanding professional service in every way.

Reservation Canceled by Hotel

It is was a nice stay: very clean, great layout, and typical hotel breakfast with coffee. What I disliked was that it is one of those hotel developments with two other hotels that share the same access at the interstate corner. You see the hotel, you look at how you access, and the next thing that happens is  you are on the access ramp taking you back to where you came. There was no visible sign showing to turn down an access road, which is where their sign was placed. My round trip mistake cost me traveling an extra twelve miles.

Had to get a room last minute, checked Trip Advisor and this was the cheapest in the area. The reviews all seemed good so we gave it a try and it was more than we expected.  Clean, comfy room with a microwave and fridge. Check in was easy and front desk person was very helpful and friendly.  Instead of continental breakfast we were given a breakfast bag this morning with a sausage egg and cheese biscuit, orange juice, a banana, a small yogurt, a little crumb cake, a packaged apple danish and a granola bar. This is how all hotels should be. Definitely got more than we paid for!

Good experience

We stopped at the Quality Inn in Quincy on our way to Orlando. The rooms were very clean and the staff could not have been friendlier. We were very pleased with our stay and will definitely stay again in the future!

Clean rooms and friendly service

We were road-weary & ready to call it a night when located this place. What a Godsend it was. The place was clean & extremely comfortable, the staff was welcoming & friendly, & they even had a place for easy parking for our camper. We got a much-needed restful night's sleep! Our morning showers were delightful & the front desk clerk packed us each a nice to-go bag of breakfast items including a hot sandwich, yogurt, a banana, & lots of other goodies. I highly recommend this hotel!

Pleasant

This property it self is average but the people are fantastic. Got here early evening and asked for a room away from highway. Clerk accomodated my request even though I was intitially in a room next to the highway. Second floor and no elevator was not ideal but once inside I felt the effort was worth it. Nice and quiet! Slept well and the bag breakfast next morning was the best I have experienced since covid hit. Clerk in the morning took care of everything with fruit, yogurt, hot breakfast sandwich and orange juice. Wife loved the coffee, also served in the lobby. Overall, it was not the nicest property that we stayed at on our 12 day vacation, but without a doubt, the friendliest. People here really care about their customers. If in the area again, this will be my first choice.

Check in was fast and friendly, room smelled fresh upon entering. Bathroom and sink area spotless, bed and pillows comfortable. Breakfast was eggs, sausage, biscuits, cereals, yoghurt, danish, breads, waffles, juices. I would stay again. 

Nice and clean!

Friendly staff and quiet place to stay. Rooms are clean and pet friendly. Located right off of I-10. Convenience store next door and only 10 minutes to the nearest restaurants and grocery store. I was not disappointed. 

Great stay and price

Stayed here on our way to Louisiana. Everything was great.  Nice and clean.   Beds n pillows comfy.  Free Breakfast was great.  Staff super friendly, even at 1am when we checked in. Would def stay here again.
