I loved my stay at the Regatta! I was taking a few days to myself to relax and unwind. I booked the Olympus suite for two nights. It's a gorgeous room with gorgeous views. When I arrived, it was raining, and honestly it was still a gorgeous view. The soaking tub is amazing (pro tip, hot is cold and cold is hot lol).
I decided to extend my stay for a night and the Olympus was already booked, so I agreed to move into the Poseidon right next door. There was a jetted tub in there. There was a miscommunication about the price when I moved rooms (please note, I did not confirm the price, I checked online and made an assumption, that is my fault and not theirs). I addressed it before check out and they graciously refunded me a small portion for the night. Their kindness was deeply appreciated for my lack of confirmation. 🙏

Pros, cons, and tips -
Pros - the water views are to die for, the location is quiet but not only a short drive to restaurants, the staff are kind and caring. 
Breakfast is fabulous. Bacon, sausage, fruit, muffins, fritatta, sausage sandwiches, coffee, orange juice, etc. And I'm a cute room with a view of the water. Beds are super comfy, though the fitted sheets wouldn't stay on in either room. 

Cons - the website said there was a happy hour and previous reviews mention them, but none were to be had while I was there. I'm a light dinner eater and had planned on making that my dinner. When I asked about it at check in, I was shown the wine in the fridge and told to help myself lol. I appreciated the glass but was more interested in the snacks. No big deal.
In the Poseidon room, the temperature was hard to maintain. The fireplace puts out a little heat, but the air conditioner machine thing would only go up to 70 and was very loud. I just ended up turning it off and turning on the overhead fan. Not ideal but not a deal breaker.

Tips -
Definitely suggest the Olympus room, and at a minimum a water view.
Get ready for the steps. By the time I checked out, I was used to it. I'm old and fat and could still do it lol.
I suggest Jack Of Cups for a meal. The perogies are to die for.
If you struggle to maintain body temperature like I do, maybe bring a blanket or something to help.

Last, I thought there was an injured bird on the private dock next door and stressed about it for two days because it wasn't moving. It's fake. 😂✌️ So now you don't have to stress about it too. It's fine. It's plastic and totally OK bwhahahaha. 

Lovely location, kind staff, quiet and clean

Enjoyable stay.  Yes, it’s somewhat expensive because Folly is no longer the poor island of Charleston.   We have been coming to Folly for 30 plus years and it’s no longer unknown and less expensive.  Breakfasts are nice but this is NOT A bed and breakfast but an Inn so it does not have the very fancy breakfasts one might have experienced.    It’s a nice breakfast.  This is a very good location near the state park - on that end of the island.    We like this location others would like to stay closer to the town with the restaurants or the lighthouse end so when deciding you should take that into consideration.  The staff will take you in a golf cart to the beach but if you are in health it’s walkable.   That’s nice because in season parking on folly can be a problem. They have a wonderful sunset view from some rooms and for everyone at their common patio.  The staff is very like able and friendly.   They will help you if they are able to.   We enjoyed our time and recommend.

Enjoyable stay

I usually do not write reviews. But i feel that their lack of response and unconcern to their customer's deserves my time . Regatta website states that if u book directly, they will match a lower price and give an additional 5 % . Also if you booked a room again you would be given a 10 percent discount for returning.  I booked direct by Hotel staff and was told they could not give me the lower price that was offered by Booking.com because they could not find it. Yet it was clearly showing on their website. Then I was charged $100.00 more booking directly with them. At check out, we made our concerns known, and it was written down by staff, and we were told they would get back with us. They never did . We decided to try another night as we enjoyed the location and wanted to give them a second chance . We used Booking.com this time. We saved $100.00. We booked an ocean room confirmed by Booking and Regatta. We were given the wrong room, which was a garden view over the parking lot..We found out at check out that the room had been available by their staff. 
We made our concerns again, and it was written down by staff, and we were told they would get back with us. No one did..  Both different rooms we stayed in had huge wrinkles in the carpet, which needs replacing. Unfortunately, it has come down to us writing this review because Regatta doesn't respond to their customers and doesn't honor any of their discounts . We never received the 10 percent ither that we asked for as a returning guest.  So, in the words of John F Kennedy, fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Our one night stay at Regatta Inn was exact what I hoped for. Paige was wonderful! She explained all the amenities and checked on our comfort. The bed was so comfortable and the entire room was clean and immaculate. My favorite part was the screened deck! The breakfast was delicious and the beach is a 5 minute walk. The peaceful views made my birthday so relaxing!

Excellent stay

We really enjoyed our room’s beautiful views and outdoor deck. The room was comfy and clean , we were also served a very nice brunch prepared for us by one of the hosts ! Loved it would have like to have stayed longer 😍

Regatta Inn and Folly Beach were completely new to us, so we decided to trust the reviews we saw on various sites. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn’t… but this time it did! The Regatta Inn reviews we read were overwhelmingly positive and I fully support them. The B&B was beautiful and the views were even better. The rooms (our room and the common areas) were very clean; our bed was comfortable; and the staff could not have been more pleasant, kind, or accommodating. We enjoyed the lovely little happy hour with complimentary beverages and appetizers; the Rooftop Terrace with fireplace was perfect for watching the sunset; our private balcony was just right for reading and chatting; and the golf cart rides proved to be very helpful as Uber and Lyft were often non-existent or ridiculously expensive for a 1.5 mile trip into town (I learned this was because we were there in the off season). We didn’t have a bad meal the entire time we were there, from Rita’s to Blu to Woody’s to Taco Boy (and others), the food and service were outstanding. And we’d recommend the pier - we spent hours there! Thank you to everyone at Regatta Inn - we can’t wait to return.

Perfect long weekend

I can't say enough good things about this place!  The room was wonderful with a big screened-in deck, but we didn't really use it because of the great rooftop patio.  And breakfast was very good, too.  The people working really bent over backward to ensure a great stay!

Wonderful stay

Had a great time the place is great.  The breakfast real good and the happy hour is something to enjoy. Room very clean and the people working there very friendly.  If you go enjoy your time there. Very quiet at night

Wedding

My daughter and I stayed at the Regatta Inn for a “beach weekend”.   Every single detail was fabulous and flawless about this Inn. The staff is amazing (especially Melanie). Happy hour and breakfast were delicious, as well. Golf cart shuttle was super convenient to go downtown or to the beach. Thanks for making it a great weekend.

Beach weekend

We only stayed two days but unfortunately, we had to take our daughter to the ER because of a health  emergency. I couldn't get back to the hotel to check out on time but the management said don't worry about it and they said they wouldn't charge me extra. Just take care of my daughter. 
Nice quiet hotel with spacious rooms and helpful front desk. Loved the view of the water !
