No phone no smoke detector curtains hung over the heater only two pillows vanity lights were missing one bulb had to unlink the toilet flipper several times one good thing ice machine was right next door, family paid for the room and it was short notice, otherwise we could have stayed somewhere else

Family visit

The room was messy, had no working lightbulbs. When my husband complained at the desk the man handed him some new lightbulbs. The bathroom sink is clogged and black stuff comes up out of it when water is on. Holes in the wall not even partially covered. Puke all over wall beside the toilet. Absolutely nasty motel. Beds are extremely hard. The curtains are a fire hazard hanging over the heater, my husband had to screw the fire alarm to the ceiling, the floor is uneven all over. Bathroom tiles are cracked and move with weight. The only nice thing I can say is it is large. Which accommodates my large family.

Horrible.

When they say "basic" they mean it has a roof and heat. Most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on, no cold water so the water is scalding and can't be used for showers, there's a puke strain in the carpet, the TV is tiny and the shows don't fit the screen, no coffee maker in the room, filthy bathroom, cracked walls and vanity and right next to a busy road so good luck getting sleep. This is, hands-down, the worst motel I've ever stayed in and wouldn't recommend it to a tweaker, let alone a traveler.

Worst motel I've ever stayed at.

I didn’t stay there.  My grandkids did while on a school academic field trip.  They said it was filthy!!!  The school couldn’t afford an expensive motel.  The floors were dirty and so were the bathrooms.  Not good.

Wouldn’t stay here

The room had a nice set up to it even though there were some things that need to be improved on.  There was a coffeepot in the suite but no coffee or coffee cups.  The sugar packets looked like they had gotten wet and had dried into clumps.  I asked at the office for packets of decaf coffee and they didn't have that, just regular coffee.  There was no bathmat in the room the first night we stayed.  We were able to get one from the front office.  The refrigerator could have been colder and we found the controlling knob the day we left in the refrigerator.  There were phone books but no phones.  When asked at the front desk, he told me that the lines were down but you could use your cell phone to call the front office.  We just walked across the street when we needed something.  There were three small pillows on the bed.  We had to ask for a couple more.  Besides, I always bring one of my own because the pillows are always too soft for me.  As a whole, it was a quiet room except for one night when a handyman was working on one of the motel room and doing alot of pounding and didn't quit until 7pm.  The room was clean and so were the sheets.  The bed was comfortable when you first lied on it but by morning it got hard.  I guess they don't want to stay in bed too long.

Trip to Dodge City & Liberal, Kansas

I was part of a group that reserved a block of rooms (months in advance) for one night at the "New" Sunflower Inn. Our defense for not bailing: We were on a long-distance road trip; this was Western Kansas; we were not keen to cancel the rooms and look for other accommodations. That being said, the "New" Sunflower Inn gets no pass from me. This place was pretty gross. Ceiling tiles missing; run-down fixtures; shower curtain rod so askew that the shower curtain would not stay closed, thus causing water to pool on the bathroom floor. But the most disturbing thing was the sound of SOMETHING scratching in the ceiling. Birds? Mice? As another review mentioned, the linens appeared to be clean...so at some point I decided to suspend my disbelief so that I could get some shut eye. We endured the night and got out of there early the next morning. Good god...if this is the NEW Sunflower Inn (& Suites, don't forget that part), what was the old place like??

Ugh.

What a wonderful surprise!!  Our room was amazing.  Can't think of anything negative to say about sunflower inn and suites.  We had a wonderful stay.  Great bed, spacious room, great tv, wonderful staff, just the best place ever.  Would certainly recommend this motel😄😄😄

Heading home

we stayed at this hotel a couple years ago and it was decent, so we decided to stay again. so imagine my surprise when I got to the room and it smelled bad, no shower curtain, dirty carpet. floor length drapes that covered the ac unit. we decided to stay since I had already paid and we were tired, the sheets were clean at least.  We were disappointed that this place has went down in just a couple of years. We checked out and went to another hotel

Never Again

The room was dirty/smelled, the electrical outlets were covered, and there was no way you wanted to take your clothes off and get into bed here.  Without a doubt, the worst hotel I have every experienced.
