Waters Edge Resort

This resort has worked hard to recover from the aftermath of Ian.  The pool areas, the hot tubs, the beautiful deck..... you will always see cleaning crews out taking care of the areas in and around the building.  There are still some things being finished up but  they are working diligently on it to get it in perfect condition for the upcoming busy season. Our long stay in unit 407 has been a dream.  We love this resort and look forward to many winters here!!

PERFECT getaway!

The elevators were horrible. They only had one working. Had to wait a long time. Room 301 was very outdated. Rusted refrigerator from the 80s. Floors were very uneven. Washer and Dryer was outdated and loud. Vacuum wouldn't pick up. Towel racks losley put on. Broom to sweep was tore up. Frying pan was small enough for only one person. Dishwasher  loud and outdated from the 80s. Didn't clean very well. Positive thing is the view was great Hot tub was great as well

Floors were disgusting! We had to go buy a mop and bucket to mop the floors and my daughters feet were still nasty... you have to provide your own toilet paper, trash, bags, etc. Which we were never told at the time of making the reservation.  Website said 1 king and 2 queens, it was 1 king and two full size beds. Website also stated that t.v.s in every bedroom, this was false also. You were only given towels at check-in and fhats what you used the whole stay... had to wash those the whole stay. Very outdated on the outside.  The stairs where rusting terribly and very sharp at the edges and very dangerous to walk on even with shoes on... wouldn't stay here again especially for the price we paid. We were told it was newly remodeled. I believed they may have painted but that was absolutely it!!!!! I provided photos to prove what the room was suppose to have in it and that they provide which they didn't!

Worst place we've stayed at!

Condo was ok, furniture was clean so that's a plus. Cleaning staff put tape on toilet saying it was sanitized, but had some hair on it, both toilets. Nice view and location. Building looks very old. If you want to rent a condo here, I suggest you do it through VRBO. I reserved through the management company directly because this was very last minute, and nothing was left available elsewhere. On that note, not sure if it's the management or individual owners decisions, but I've never heard of a resort where they leave you only two extra rolls of toilet paper, and then you have to go buy your own (which I was not told until I got there, and I reserved over the phone). Also, no hand soap in the bathrooms, not even dish soap. Had to go shopping in order to go to the bathroom! Go to the pool and was told there are no pool towels. Seriously?? A resort? So not only did I have to go shopping, but had to do laundry on my short vacation of 4 days! Management on site those days were very unfriendly. Also on the website, they claim to have a cafe. Well there is none! You want coffee, have to go out and get it, or again buy your own stuff. Also, too many kids in the hot tub.

Not a resort

The place was not clean. When we got there walking on the floors barefoot would leave you with black soles on your feet. There was still lots of sand on the floors. There was a pair of eye contacts and some other trash on the floor in middle guest room. None of the beds had been swept under or the nightstands. The dishwasher had mold in it and had not been emptied. We had to hand wash all our dishes, no way were we going to use a moldy dishwasher. The refrigerator and microwave both had food remains in them. The outside balcony furniture was filthy too with sand piled up in the corners of the balcony. The resort sent a guy to come check it out. He tried to clean stuff up but nothing he could do about the dishwasher. Even after he swept and mopped, our feet were still black on the bottom if we walked around barefoot. The next day my kids were coming with the baby, so my husband and I spent several hours cleaning. When I used the mop, I rinsed it out 3x in the bathtub when working with an area about 2ftx4ft, and it was STILL dirty. I was pretty upset. I didn’t pay that much to stay in a place so dirty. Fortunately after lots of wasted vacation time and waste of money, it was clean enough to be minimally acceptable. One of the doors to the balcony would not shut completely and could not be locked. On Saturday when it was time to leave, we were getting ready to check out but after waiting more than 10 minutes for an elevator (only one was working and the working one still had not come) to take our stuff to the car, we ended up driving our cars as far up the parking garage as we could, then carrying everything down the stairs to our cars. You can imagine we all needed another shower by the time we had the cars loaded and we were past our check out time.

Great location and beach, really dirty condo

We just returned from a week at Waters Edge. It was a very relaxing stay. We were on the 10th floor, the view was phenomenal! It was awesome to watch thunder storms, nightly fireworks ( by other guests), and see pelicans go flying by!  Raised Adirondack chairs provided unobstructed views over the railing. The unit itself was completely renovated recently. It was clean, well decorated and well stocked with everything you need to cook. The only downside was the king bed. The mattress needs to be flipped or replaced. After a couple of nights our backs were really feeling it! 
The beach was excellent. Never overcrowded. People were very friendly. Because we flew in we didn’t have beach gear, but you can rent 2 chairs and an umbrella daily. It’s all set up for you. We rented for the week, so you get a sliding scale discount instead of the flat $40 per day. It doesn’t matter how late you get to the beach, your gear is there all set up waiting for you.
We didn’t really use the pool, but it looked okay, usually busy. Used the hot tub a couple of times and that was nice.
We would be happy to stay here again.

Very Nice Stay

We stayed from 6/18-6/21 in Unit 804.  The accommodations were spectacular and especially appreciated the the high Adirondaks stools on the balcony. The beach and pool were a summer's dream.

  I accidently left a sentimentally precious necklace in the bedroom and did not realize it until a couple of days later.  Housekeeping turned it in and John at the front desk made sure to get it to mail service that could get it back to me.  I am forever grateful!

We have been coming up here for a few years and have to say this place is run down poor management always construction going on elevators are constantly down pools and spa are always broke . The AC AND HEAT DO NOT WORK they have been not working for a few weeks and is against the law they have multiple violations when it's cold they ask you to use your oven yes OVEN TO HEAT THE PLACE  and haven't done anything to fix the heat and AC . Very hot in rooms can't open doors because of construction going on to let any air in .. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND THE MANAGER IS VERY RUDE

We booked in January and not informed that the balcony would not be accessible, due to construction in the building, both hot tubs were not open and the constant noise 8 plus hours a day would drive you nuts, They were not open to viable ideas to  paying guests nor were they sympathetic at all. Then the doors to the balconies were blocked shut, if there was a fire we couldn't get out. We asked about a fire and ewe needed to get out and were told that a fire was very unlikely to happen. A/C and heating system is out of service. Now we can't open the balcony doors for air and the bedroom window is painted shut so we cannot create air flow. We keep being told that the work is going to be completed next week, bull. This is stage one of the project. 2 more stages to go. The elevators are in constant disrepair. Good luck. Oh BTW, our room had not been cleaned prior to our checking in and we had to dust it to make it livable.

This resort is not the best, but it was good enough for us. The whole resort is tired looking and needs updating. The staff in the lobby not very friendly, but the cleaners were always chatting with you and very diligent in their duties. I will say they kept everything very clean. 
Let's start with the room, the view was amazing. There was a washer and dryer, which is a must if you are at the beach. There was plenty of dishes to cook with and everything worked well. The air conditioner was really cold at times which was surprisingly nice. At least 3 of the mornings there were dolphins playing out front we could sit and watch from the balcony. Now the balcony is another story, it is not really a private balcony in the sense you can see other people beside you the way it is shaped, which I did not care for. I really wish there had been a table and chairs to eat on the balcony, we like to eat on the balcony everyday while enjoying the sound of the ocean. The bed was very comfortable, the couch and chair not so much. 
The pools were just the right temp and kept clean. The only thing is they look dirty and stained, but there is a sign up they are going to refurbish them. The outside pool is too small for the resort. I had the inside and outside to myself most every morning. That was really nice. There is a hot tub which is always full. Just do not forget your wristband or the security will run you out. 
There is a little store and bar on site which was never very full. We didn't utilize either one so I am not sure of the prices. 
The elevators are a nightmare. They are so slow for that big of a resort, one even broke down while we were there. They need to add a couple more. 
The parking garage is another disaster. It is very dark and small. It is just hard to park anywhere but the very top floor which seems to have larger spots, but it is not covered. There were plenty of luggage carts which is very nice. 
The beach itself was so nice, we got a front row spot everyday but one. There are not many Shells to find, but there are a few. 
We have never stayed on this side of Myrtle Beach before, but it was really nice. Would I come back here, yes, but only for a very much lower price. It was not worth the money in my opinion unless they do some renovation and updating of the rooms as well. We did have a very nice stay, just a few things need working on. It was not a major issue, because we were only there for the beach anyway not the room.
