Our experience at this facility was terrible. Each unit is individually owned and operated. It’s my understanding that some units are maintained and kept clean and some are not. Since you have no idea which you are getting…don’t risk it! 

After driving 6hrs with a 13mth old, we were forced to find other lodging due to the unsanitary conditions of the room. Living and dead bugs were seen in plan sight. Roaches seen. There was food splattered on the walls. The floors were dirty and the carpets covered in stains. I didn’t dare pull the sheets back and look at the bed. We called the office to complain and request a refund and was told nothing could be done. Imagine spending over $1k for a family vacation, only to find the room to be so filthy, you can’t stay, then being out that money! They refused to refund our money or help in anyway. After finding acceptable lodging, we called our booking agency, who refunded are money and stated they were dropping the location due to multiple complaints. 

Don’t stay there!!

Terrible. Would never stay there.

This facility is terrible! 1 star is too kind compared to what we experienced. My family walked into the unit and stayed 15mins. We immediately left and found another hotel to stay in. The unit is filthy. Dead and living bugs everywhere. Stains and what looked like food on the walls and ceiling. The carpet was gross and stained. The building that had the in door pool, gym, arcade, and only WI-FI access plus laundry (I’m assuming) was closed and inaccessible. There is no one working on site at all. Each unit is owned privately and unit code to unlock the door is sent via text. The property owner repeatedly stated each unit is individually owned and all problems should be addressed directly with the owner. Unfortunately getting in touch with the owner, is next to impossible. The drive up to the facility is sketchy at best and individuals should be comfortable driving on curvy mountain roads, with blind turns, and very steep inclines. Photos below are from just being in the room for 15mins. I’m sure if we really looked around, it would have only gotten worse. Do not stay here! 

DONT NOT STAY HERE!

Master bed broken down. Very broken down. The 2 twin beds the springs could majorly be felt. 
None of us got much sleep. 
Hot water only get one really good shower. Second person had to hurry or got a cold shower at the end. 
Bed sheets and pillow cases was dingy and had small stains. 
Housekeeping left stuff from in dishwasher. Meaning I thought there wasn't much dishes to use at first.

Do not recommend

We rented a unit for our son's family and were DEEPLY disappointed in the property when we visited. The carpet was FILTHY, the stainless-steel stove was rusted. Doors couldn't be opened all the way because they hit the dishwasher. The unit need a GOOD cleaning and definitely needs modernized.  It looks like the 80's threw-up.

Save Your Money

For our weekend getaway we decided to try Summit Condos and we got 6208. We got to the facility and made our way into our room. First thing we noticed was the condo was tiny. The photos made the place look much bigger. There was even a closet to hang clothes. That being said, the room was very nice, with a fireplace and a gorgeous view of the mountains. The room had some cosmetic issues, but nothing terrible. The bed was wonderful and the kitchen area was quite nice, despite the size. All in all not a bad stay,but be warned, the drive there is a twisty, winding road so be careful.

A beautiful view from a tiny condo 

I have stayed at the Summit 5 times, and each time I have had a positive experience there.  It helps to do your homework first.  There are no elevators, so choose a room that befits your ability to climb stairs.  Some rooms overlook Gatlinburg, and some rooms overlook the mountain chain.  Before you leave home, be sure your vehicle can climb a mountain.  Review a map and directions before you start up the hill.  Watch the curves for on-coming traffic.   But if you appreciate a great view, the drive will be worth it.

Very in personal, bossy , not very good bedding. 
They also wait for you to leave so they demand hundreds of dollars on damages along with their very steep price to stay there. Definitely crooks.

The road up is also very unsafe. 

Go somewhere else .

A mess

We booked a condo February 2021 and I assume the management of the complex considers this to be off season. The week that we stayed until we decided after multiple attempts to reason with management about the construction noise we was leaving. All we wanted was the remodeling which was directly below us to be with in reasonable hours (9to5 or something similar) they started at 730 everyday we stayed and worked until 9 to 10 every night absolutely ridiculous. When I contacted management every day the same thing “we’ll take care of it”but nothing ever changed  Also my wife is disabled and when I parked in front of the building which had 0 handicap spots to help her in the building I was approached by management and was told I  had to move my vehicle I tried to explain my situation and I was just helping my wife into the building and was moving my car to the upper lot I was told the area was not a loading or unloading zone this lady had 0 people skills as did most of the complex group.The next day when we were leaving to go sight seeing we walked out of our building and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing they had actually placed large railroad ties and rocks where I was stopped to help my wife in UNBELIEVABLE.I contacted the owner of the condo who was great but had no luck in dealing with management either he refunded partial payment and apologized. It’s an injustice that the condo owners have bad reviews written about people’s stay when in fact it is the poor management skills of the property management company. We have stayed here multiple times and had great times but we will never stay again. If you are willing to deal with people who are absolutely terrible then this is the place for you.

Remodeling adjacent unit

Sixth visit, obviously I am (was) a fan of The Summit of Gatlinburg.  Our two bedroom HAD NO HOT WATER and our travel agency jerked us around for two days and nights before moving us to a functional condo (at a location outside of The Summit).  This visit, our two bedroom condo had no wifi connection, to the extent I had to make all telephone calls from the front desk lobby.  The pool kept opening later than advertised, so staff hand marked a change to the hours....that is one way to do it...things change.

Sad Story

This is a condo complex with amazing views of the mountains. Our unit was a bit outdated, but super clean with all the needed amenities. 
If your not used to driving straight up a mountain, the road to the complex is scary.
