My husband was put in one of Shale Lodge's rooms while he was working in the area by his company, and both my husband and his coworkers have all complained to the company because their stays here have been miserable beyond measure.

My husband is on night shift at work, so he sleeps during the day. The problems at the mancamp started when they claimed they had wifi for him but their hotspot never works. Then, even though the staff was supposed to clean the rooms every 3 days, his room went over a week without being cleaned.

One of his coworkers was put into a dirty room, and when he asked to be switched to a different room they gave him one that had no working air conditioning - when it is 110* out, you can't simply say "oh sorry, your room doesn't have A/C"

Another ongoing issue has been that the room next door to my husband's has renovations ongoing every day at 10am while he's been trying to sleep. The rest of the place is empty, so why they weren't able to move him to a not noisy room KNOWING he is occupying the room during the day is beyond me. The weed whacking and lawn mowing immediately outside the occupied rooms could stand to go, too.

The food is terrible and resembles dog food, and now there's been talk of starting to charge for this terrible meal instead of including it with the room rental. 

This place is just as expensive as a hotel or motel in Three Rivers, so please do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. My husband has a few more days left until his job is done and he is debating paying for a hotel out of his own pocket instead of staying here, where his company is paying.

The latest incident was the hotel staff having a party, loud music included, in the room right next to my husband's room. 30+ unoccupied units and you pick the unit sharing a paper thin wall with a PAYING customer to throw a party in? 

If the owner or manager reads this then you need do something about your staff, they are rude and inconsiderate and I know my husband's large company will never give you business again because of your staff.

Do yourself a favor and stay ANYWHERE else.

When we arrived we had no towels. We were told at check in that as soon as they could they would put some in our room. When we returned to our room later that evening they had dropped off 2 towels, 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth. I am not sure why you would only get 1 wash cloth for 2 people. That was the only wash cloth we received for a 3 night stay. That is not the worst. The floor as you entered the room and as you entered the bathroom was so soft the only thing keeping you from falling through was the vinyl covering the floor. The outside door was broke and flapped against the outside wall all night. My husband could not get the tv to turn on. He finally figured out it was unplugged ( not sure why).I will never stay at this place again.

Horrible

Absolutely disgusting. When we checked in we were told that people had slept in the rooms the night before and they didn't have time to make the beds so we would have to do it ourselves. They then gave us sheets to do just that. Multiple people had cockroaches and rat droppings in their rooms and on their beds once they were finally able to get into their rooms. The room keys like to not work most of the time.

I found the staff to be pleasant and helpful.  I liked the price until I went down the road closer to Choke Canyon and found a comparable place, maybe even quieter for $10 less.  There was only 2 people staying, including me, with about 30 units but for some reason they had us next to each other I could hear ever footstep & I'm sure he could hear me walk, move a chair or fart.

Just Enough for the Price

I stayed here for 6 weeks and have no complaints. the rooms are like new, very good bed and clean.  the staff is like your friends. if you have a certain meal you want for dinner they will make it and save a plate for you when you get back late from work. if i have to work in this area again  I will live here. just really nice people.
