Quaint hotel with lovely balconies. Fireplace, comfortable beds and a variety of pillows.  Very nice bathroom with walk in shower, 2 sinks, and separate toilet room. It is in a desirable location with many dining options within walking distance. I will stay here again!  Excellent in every way.

It’s perfect.

I'm all about deals when it comes to making hotel reservations. So paying double for a room was painful.  This was an early Valentines gift for my wife, so frugality went out the window. So what did I get for the price? I got a very clean king room with a gas fireplace. The room was about double the size of a normal motel room. It also had a small outdoor covered patio. The bathroom was basically three rooms. One with the toilet, one area with a large counter space with dual sinks, and one area with a large walk-in shower (it could comfortably hold four people).  The room was very clean and had room service daily.  We had a small library in the room, bottled water, 4k tv (brilliant picture), and bathrobes in the closet. At check-in, we were greeted by a very nice lady, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, and a newspaper.  The free continental breakfast consisted of bread, various cereals, breakfast bars, fruit cups, yogurt, sausage egg and cheese croissants, and some sort of egg and bacon sandwich on a roll that was very good. The orange juice and apple juice was real and not that orange or brown  colored stuff that comes out of a  machine. The breakfast room was very unique, and overall  I give breakfast 5 stars. But one of the biggest amenities of this motel was location, location, location! I was able to park and not start my truck until we left. Everything is in walking distance!  Needless to say, my wife was very happy. This makes me happy, and I can very easily give the James Madison Inn five stars!

Very happy with room!

Wife birthday; TV didn’t work during UGA bowl game. No one knew how to fix it. Room was loud.  Traffic noise. Could hear every conversation above or below us.  Relayed this when we checked out and their solution was to give us the government rate discount (20%). I expected a better solution.  I doubt we will return.  

Disappointed 

This is a lovely hotel with large rooms.  It seems to be advertised as an historic property but I learned that it was actually constructed in 2007 with some historic materials made a part of the construction. The rooms are very nice, although there is no glassware and the bathroom linens are just ok.  The shower heated quickly, although our room had only one head from above that could be adjusted  only slightly.  Breakfast is included; a continental set-up that is well done.  It’s not the Ritz but you won’t starve either. A key feature is its location about 25 steps from Town 220, Madison’s best restaurant. Very friendly staff too.

Very comfortable place

Very clean and comfortable room.  Friendly and helpful staff provided early and easy check-in as well as good dining suggestions.   Good location with several good restaurants nearby.  Nicely decorated in a traditional and contemporary style. 

Madison Overnight 

Not a good experience. The room was pretty and clean. But that’s where it stops. There was a leak that was in our room (wet carpet) and got worse out in the hall. We informed the girl at the front office, assuming someone would take care of it, but she just responded with “I’m sure someone is aware” ok? 
The breakfast was awful. A brown banana, an old apple, one water bottle, and low budget juice comparable to the ones in an elementary school. 
As we leave, the water in the hall is worse (I slipped on it) and it’s smelling of mildew in our room. Also, the shower constantly drips. 
I wouldreport to the receptionist again, however she was putting out fires for an alarm going off and she couldn’t disengage.  She is alone with zero help. 

Not at all what we expected. 

Very grand and presented well. Room was of good size, bed was soft, carpet was old. Chipped paint, baseboards which are grand need cleaned, corners of water closet and shower were not clean. Old coffee stains inside bathroom cabinet. We stayed on the park side which had very loud traffic at night. Porch was dirty and ceiling fan was limp and run down. Breakfast had very little effort put into it. Had to ask for the evening wine. For the cost we expected more.

Three night stay expected more for the price.

Lovely property in wonderful location walking distance to restaurants, shops and historic town sites.  Large rooms with luxury furnishings.  Super comfy bed and pillows.  Our second time staying here and pleasantly surprised with a “happy hour” complimentary wine service.  Breakfast offerings are ample.  Love the fireplace in the room, especially in Feb! Feels like you are staying in someone’s home. Our new go to stop on the way to NC from FL.  

Luxury accommodations in perfect setting 

Beautiful hotel in downtown, historic Madison, GA. Our room was perfect; really comfortable bed with high-quality linens, waterfall shower, sitting area with a private, gas fireplace. This hotel has a boutique feel to it, with an historic feel, intricate moldings and gorgeous furnishings. Ashley was so nice and welcoming. We arrived late, which undoubtedly kept her a bit late but she was very gracious and friendly—Thank You, Ashley! Would definitely come again and recommend it to others. You won’t be disappointed.

Perfect boutique hotel in historic Madison

Our recent stay was great until we had an issue arise on our last night of or stay. I will spare you the details, however my wife and I were not please with our last evening. The following morning upon check out, I had the pleasure of meeting a very kind man I believe his name was Ron- The GM of the hotel. Explained to him the issue we had on the previous night, long story short he stated we should have never had those issues and  went above and beyond to make the situation correct. I recommend The James Madison Inn, and if in the area again we would stay again.
