Had a lovely overnight stay in December. Wasn't expecting much of the room, but turned out to be a suite which was really surprising. It was lovely and clean and the staff were really friendly. Drove into town to get a pizza for our dinner. Breakfast was basic but again, good value for money. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

the rooms are good and clean, the breakfast was standard fare for a hotel breakfast beds comfortable. the desk was helpful. Perfect location! One problem: the room keys and locks were have some issues our rom key would work then not. we had a reservation but it was somehow cancelled (not the fault of the hotel. we still got a room during the busiest time of year.

possibly the best stay in Gering

We passed thru Gering from the west on a cross country motorcycle ride.  Being on motorcycles we needed laundry facilities.  Unfortunately laundry was not working.  However, upon check-in, the friendly staff offered to take care of our laundry!  Needless to say, we were very happy!  The room was comfortable and very clean.  Towels and sheets clean, fresh and not worn.  Having a recliner in the room was a much enjoyed extra!  Breakfast was as you will find at any hotel with the usual items available.  Plenty for us to eat and get back on the road. During this trip we were staying at different hotels, chains, etc.   The extra effort by the staff to accommodate us made this one of the best hotels of the trip!

Great place to stay! Highly recommend

This appears to be a former Econolodge hotel. While the rooms were clean, that really was the only positive for our stay. The rooms were noisy, beds hard, no take out cups for coffee or water, ran out of breakfast items and the waffle maker was cheap.

Average hotel for high price

The bed is firm and the room comfortable. However the hotel bathroom and guest laundry were broken- which stinks when you need them. Would have picked somewhere else if we knew there was no laundry available. Also no travel cups for coffee and no tea choices. This place is very bare bones. 

Comfortable room but lacking amenities and maintenance 

We had originally only intended to stay one night here but, after our holiday was delayed because of covid and thinking the hotel looked good on TA and its own website, we decided to stay two. On the plus side the room was fine (although it had to be changed from the one we had booked because the keycard didn't work), the rate was very reasonable and it was only a few minutes drive to Scottsbluff. However, the breakfast was by far the worst we have ever experienced in many years of road tripping in the US. There was cereal, oatmeal, waffles and white toast - and that was it. No fruit juice (machine broken), no fruit or yoghurt, no brown bread for toast, no muffins or pastries. With hindsight, after the first morning we should have gone elsewhere for breakfast.

Good location, awful breakfast

Today's "hot breakfast" was hot water and packaged oatmeal or make your own waffle. NOTHING ELSE HOT. There were no tea bags. There was no fruit. How this place stays in business is beyond me. Stay away,

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP

Excellent hotel, great rooms, great breakfast, great area to BBQ, with very clean gas grill. Friendly staff, especially Brigitte who gave us all the equipment we need to grill our ribeye steak. Hotel plates, forks, knives. Also very nice to have a friendly chat with. Best hotel we had this vacation 2022.

Great Hotel

First the positives: Comfortable beds, good night's sleep (stayed there 3 nights), quiet,  nice towels (a cut above normal), complimentary bags of ice in a stand-up freezer if you want to stock an ice-chest or cooler before you leave each day, good coffee, friendly employees.
Now the not-so-good:
My room had an odd smell when I checked in, couldn't really place it, or figure out where it was coming from at first.  I asked to see another room, but that one had the same aroma.  I decided (later in my stay) that it was strongest in the bathroom, and most likely from some sort of cleaning product.  However, it may have been from the drains.  The sink drained very slowly.  I reported this to the front desk on day-one and when I checked out.  It was still draining very slowly when I left. The breakfast buffet was one of the stranger things I've seen in a hotel.  If you wanted butter or peanut butter on your toast or waffles, there was a large jar/tub of each sitting out on the counter (uncovered) for each guest to access.  I'm talking at least a half-gallon tub of each.  In addition, in the fridge, they kept a large bowl of canned peaches that guests could access.  None of these options struck me as "up to code" for public health.  While the coffee was good, if you like cream in your coffee, bring your own.  The "creamers" provided were all powdered.  And now for the most important advice.  We arrived late-afternoon and parked for the night in the spot nearest the door on the front of the building.  The building is surrounded by trees.  The trees are occupied by a species of bird capable of producing incredible amounts of thick gelatinous excretement.  The goo on the hood of our car on the first morning was disgusting.  There was a self-service car wash a few blocks away where I spent a good part of the morning removing bird-dropppings and cleaning our car.  The stuff was like pudding mixed with a strong adhesive.  I strongly recommend you don't park under the trees.  I realize there's not much the hotel can do to get rid of this problem beyond cutting down the trees.  And one more thing, the water in this part of Neb is loaded with minerals, so don't expect a bright shiny car when you're done washing it.

Some Good, Some Not

Other places in town were full so decided to stop here. The front desk workers were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was great. The room was a great deal compared to other places. Will stay here again.
