This motel sits on top of a convenience store/truck stop. It is somewhat noisy during the day. The Wifi was great. Hot water. If your on a budget, this is the place. No bed bugs but it did have a microwave and small fridge. I couldn't get the tv to work but I wasn't worried, I don't watch much tv. Just beware, it is a busy area with trucks and customers coming in and out of the store. 

Budget motel

The check-in is at the gas clerk! He gave me the key and tv remote control to check our room brfore the check-in. It would not be a place I would stop at had I seen it first. By the name, I was expecting a cute little mom and pop property. It was clean and had a bed, a chair and small dresser. Then a small fridge and microwave stacked on each other beside the bed. So very basic. It is a truck stop with a lot of questionable characters around. We went downstairs to get some snacks and the wifi password, exiting the building then was about 8 police cars....one of the officiers had a rifle, not sure if it was his or they removed it from the car they had at the gas bar! We just went up to our room, there were other people sitting at the picnic tables just watching the events unfold. It was alright, a little sketchy but we slept, showered...guess it did it's job! Felt a little unsafe as it was just my daughter and myself, but a lady in another store said we would be safe in Gilroy and not to worry. I doubt I would stay there again. I slept fine, until an angry motorist honked his horn ....it is very busy little place.

Busy place

First off, Shouldnt all the rooms in A hotel look similiar and alike? 

Just before checkout, as the housekeepers came around to clean the rooms, i noticed rather strange to me. 

There were rooms with the doors open.  As i walked by, peering into the open rooms, they were all very different from each other.
Some rooms had tables, some looked trashed and were missing furniture. As far as i know all these rooms in this hotel are pretty much the same besides the number of beds. 
Why does it seem like there is no equality between the rooms? Or am i just plain crazy?

Okay, I suppose it could be considered an Inn.  But it really is, a bunch of motel rooms above a somewhat busy convenience store.  My night at the Inn was pretty quiet, even with a truck stop on one side of the Inn.  A decent sized room with a shower and tub, plus some amenities - mini-fridge, microwave oven.  A lot more food options than a normal motel.  There's a sandwich shop and ice-cream place downstairs, plus a bunch of food choices from the convenience store.  Also, a fast food location about 200 feet away (drive-thru is probably open late, if not 24 hours).  When I dropped off the card-key, the manager said I was welcome to grab a cup of coffee on my way out.

If you just need a room, this place is pretty decent and an easy hop onto the freeway

Choice of a name

This place is an all in one kinda deal. There's the INN and the Truck Stop & General Store. I didn't stay in a room at the INN so I don't know about that part, cause I'm a truck driver and I stay in my truck. However, the General Store sales everything, especially Garlic items, hint the Garlic Farm part, lol. The food inside is a sandwich shop, also have a Baskin Robbins too. Didn't eat from sandwich shop cause we have our own food on truck, saves money. However, not too pricey. Now for the drivers lounge, well not much but table, chairs and computer area. Restrooms not kept clean but can't blame them for that cause people don't pick up and clean up after themselves so I did, looked clean after I left. Now here's my issue as a truck driver, I need good shower, unfortunately this was my worst shower experience of over 5 years driving. Shower cost $8 and not worth it, let me just say my worst Pilot shower was better than this one. Water comes out like a water hose. Other than that I'm clean, it's a shower. Now for the parking lot, parking is FREE and starts filling up by 5pm, maybe has 50 spots and stinky trash spell, but other truck stops spell like pee, thanks to the I don't care truckers pouring out pee jugs. NASTY... 
So over all, we parked here to check it out for parking close to our load pick ups and 24 hour store and especially restroom.

General Store

DO NOT stay here. This is not a normal motel/hotel. I’ve never stayed in a motel room that looked like a room in a corrections facility before. The people are nice—let me say that up front. It’s not about the staff. But even the guy who pointed the way to my room said, “Why are you *here*?” as if even he thought the idea of staying where he worked was absurd. The rooms are above a gas station convenience store. There’s no obvious way in—you have to go through a steel gate that I thought was protecting a heating unit. The room has almost nothing in it—not a bedside table, not a lamp, not a headboard, no art—just peeling paint and nails where decorations must have been. Even the TV remote was given to me when I checked in—I guess they can’t safely leave anything in the room. The floor was swept but filthy. The water from the faucet was cloudy. They should shut down, renovate, and charge double. It’s not worth even $80 a night if you’re worried about bedbugs and foul water.

Stay anywhere in Gilroy but here

The owner asked me to pay the room even if it was already paid through booking.com. I answered I was not going to pay two times for the same room but they replied they didn't get any money from booking. I decide to leave and find another place. So... unless your dream is sleeping in a fuel station (where check-in desk is actually located)... stay away from here.

Stay away from here

This place is a dump! Furniture 1 bed 1 desk. No bedstand, the carpet is filthy covered with stains. The "front desk" is a very young man sitting at cash register for convenience store/gas station. No explanation on where rooms are or where are to find stairs. Being handicapped I needed to use escalator..ha! Walls have peelings paint and toilet paper roll on floor. My advice, find a different place. Sounds like indy 500 outside at 9:30pm.

Here's one of those rare occasions where I can find anything reasonable to bring this review above one star.

First, this is actually a truck stop hotel...it's sandwiched between the big rig pumps and a fuel island for cars. That being said, it's busy non-stop! All the rooms are on the second floor which has stairs access only...meaning it's not ADA compliant. The first floor is a constantly busy convenient store. It's an old, poorly kept facility...bare necessities in your room.

I stayed because of it had the lowest price around the area. I was on the car island side of the building. The car island has a high cover...meaning light from the island comes in your room window easily. Then there is all the traffic "thumping" music, people (some drunk) talking loudly, and road noise. I usually have ear plugs along in case I run into this situation. But on this trip, I forgot them. The window just had wood shutter blinds that don't block out much of the light. Between my room being too bright and the constant noise, I couldn't sleep at all...and I mean zero! I tried putting towels on the shutter...but it didn't really help. I was in the area to compete in an endurance event the next day...I was dead tired during the event.

The only bright spot...I begged for an extra hour on checkout (needed a place to shower after my event) which is 11am. They gave me an extra half hour.

If you have to stay here and you're a light sleeper, make sure you bring ear plugs and something to blackout the window. For just $5-$10 more, you can stay at some Motel 6 on the other side of the freeway. It would have to be the last thing available for me to ever stay here again.
