Not clean. Very dated. Carpet is old and dark. Bedspread is old and dark. No microwave. No coffee pot. Paid $76.77. Could have been much better. Just shut your eyes and go to sleep, morning will come and you can leave

On a trip from Montreal Canada to San Fransisco USA we stopped at this motel in Glenwood Springs CO. It was late and when we arrived they treated us like kings. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean as a whistle. Good shower and the coffee was very good too. Great place, Great people. The town has a huge hot spring heated pool. The warmest and the largest pool I have ever seen.

Our room was filthy when we arrived.  There were tags from other people's clothes on the floor, so it clearly hadn't been vacuumed.  There were bugs inside both of the windows and the room didn't look anything like the pictures we had seen online.  There is no extra locks on the inside of the room which felt like a security issue.  {This story gets a bit gross here - skip it if you are squeamish}  I took my 2 young sons to the chinese restaurant next door for dinner and they proceeded to be sick to their stomachs multiple times in the night.  I used all of the clean linens to clean the bathroom as best as I could without cleaning supplies.  The next morning, we left the frontier lodge from 10am-9pm and when we came back the room hadn't been cleaned.  The bathroom still smelled like vomit and the dirty linens were still where I had left them.  I complained to the front desk and they actually told me that there was nothing they could do except give me some rags and clean linens for the next day!  I still had no cleaning supplies so the rags weren't going to do me any good! The manager was even present in the motel but refused to speak to me!  I've never experienced such extremely disgusting conditions in a hotel and I am shocked by the complete lack of customer service.

While on a little trip with my children we stayed her. After a day of swimming, we came back to find that medications were missing, personal items from a purse were missing, drinks were thrown away and our suitcases moved. (Oh and not to mention my children's underwear moved and folded too)

When I went to the office to confront them about the missing items they started yelling at me in front of my children. The first person I talked to slammed the door in my face and wouldn't come out to talk to me about this again. All they wanted was for me to leave a number and they would eventually "call me". 

I eventually ended up talking to an older gentleman, while my mom was listening over the phone, and he started accusing me of being a liar, calling me psycho, and accusing me of being high. All of which is untrue and to be quite frank I didn't yell or scream at all during this incident, at this point, my kids and I were all crying while he continued to yell at us. 

I had to call the police due to this and they felt really bad for me and apparently, it was up to the hotel to compensate if they choose. Obviously, they didn't and the police indicated that they were very rude and made sure that I was going to be safe while my children and I got ready to leave. 

Needless to say my children and my family as a whole were extremely upset and unless you are looking for a horrible place to say please avoid this place at all costs.

Abusive and Personal Items Went Missing

We weren’t told about the continental breakfast and just learned about it on here. The exterior is 1950s motel. It’s on the highway so a little noisy. The rooms actually were modernized and don’t match the exterior. 

However, it’s like they completed 90% of the updating and stopped. New carpeting would make a huge difference. They painted over the door hooks in the bath area instead of tossing them out and spending a couple bucks at the Ace down the road on a few silver door hooks that would make it look so much better. The bathroom door didn’t close and the shower curtain was collecting mold on the bottom. No hotel conditioner, just shampoo. 

All in all we were happy.

Look past the exterior.

The location right on the main highway was a positive; about 15 minutes from the downtown area.  The room was very small, yet fairly clean.  The heater worked very well and we stayed toasty all night long.  There was no telephone in the room, nor was there a coffee maker.  In the office they did have the fixings for tea and coffee.  We did not have any issue with noise from other units or from the highway.  No major complaints about this place--okay for a quick night's rest enroute to another destination

Glenwood Springs is an expensive place during the summer months.  This place was the equivalent of a Super 8.  Quiet at night.  Good beds.  Large rooms.  The price was one of the more reasonable options in town.

Good hotel for a reasonable price.  Enjoyed talking with owner at front desk.

TLDR:  Made a reservation online the night before. I look like a completely respectable normal average 40something woman but the desk clerk said I was a partier with a 30 pack and he would not rent a room to me and my gentlemanfriend.  Desk clerk was extremely rude and could not explain why he thought I was a 'partier'.  I didn't know refusing to rent a reserved room was even allowed.  Go to Caravan Inn instead. 

We drove to Glenwood Springs for a weekend getaway from Colorado Springs.  I had reserved a room at Frontier Lodge on Booking.com. I went into the office while my boyfriend waiting in the car, since I had the reservation under my name.  I am 45 years old, dressed like a normal average 45 year old woman and had just my purse with me.  The hotel clerk said he found my reservation.  I give him my visa debit card.  He looks at me then says he doesn't take that.  I asked what he meant, did he not take chip cards, did he not like Visa (what?)?  He looks at me again and says he only takes credit cards.   Ooooooooooooook, I start looking for my credit card but I'm confused...is Visa a problem? I think  my card is a Visa, too.......why would that be a problem???  I give him the credit card.  He looks me in the eye again (don't be creepy and aggressive, hotel clerk, what is going on right now?) and says he doesn't take that either.  I mention that he said he only takes credit cards and that is a credit card.  He says he isn't going to rent a room to me.  WTF?? Why?  We don't want any partiers.  Eh?  (I look like a semi-professional insurance agent.  Imagine the woman who sells Allstate down the street.  Just the most average blah mostly respectable looking, somewhat educated woman in North America).  I don't rent to partiers.  We don't want a party in the room, no, we don't allow 24 packs (or 30 packs?  Whatever kind of pack there is now).  I am not drunk or high or behaving oddly.  I only have my purse with me which clearly can not hold even a 6 pack of anything.  I am astounded, and vaguely panicked. This was at peak leaf season and there were very few rooms left at all in the city when I booked this one the night before.  I am trying to figure out what his thinking is.  I ask, is all alcohol banned?  (Is that even a thing?) What 24/30 pack are  you talking about, I have nothing with me?  What party, it's just me and my boyfriend.  ( I hate that term....boyfriend.....I feel like a teenager going to junior prom). No, he won't rent the room to me.  
I leave and we drive around to find a place with a vacancy sign because there were no rooms online.  We went into Caravan Inn, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, they were less expensive than Frontier, the rooms were LOVELY AND SPOTLESSLY CLEAN.

We rented adjoining rooms at this hotel.  The rooms were reasonable for this resort town and while it was located on the main highway to Aspen, the traffic did not keep us awake at night.   The air conditioning was difficult to regulate and the rooms, while large, need some updating.  They were clean.   They offered a continental breakfast which we did not partake in.   We did look at it and it was fruit, bagels, toast, yogurt.
