Headboards are not cleaned (I'm one of those who travel with my own cleaning wipes). Shower went really hot when someone next door turned on water. No trash can in bathroom. Couldn't get TV to work and it seemed the only way to contact front desk was to walk downstairs - I was too tired. The owners are SUPER nice and you can tell they're trying and updating, but I probably won't stay here again on my way 'north' or 'south'. Left too early in the morning to see what the breakfast was.

Very amazing hotel the service was amazing and the people were very nice when I got there my room was set up and we had a lot of fun the week we stayed the rooms were very clean it was an amazing vacation

Vacation

The front desk folks were very helpful, assisting my disabled veteran husband to carry luggage and getting us a room suited to his needs. The room had no extra plugins but the young man who helped with luggage quickly brought us a power strip and extension cord, and other items we requested. It is a family run business and is not an EconoLodge but now has the name OYO. It is next to the Goodland Walmart and near some local restaurants and gas station. It has a (now in use, June 2020) indoor hot tub and pool and some hot as well as cold/continental breakfast items. The owners are striving to get the place up to par. Our accommodations were clean and amenities such as soaps, AC, fridge/microwave, good wifi etc were appreciated - a place to stay and to watch for further improvements.

Very helpful friendly staff, clean and standard room and amenities

So the hotel has been bought and is being renovated by a family. It's still pretty run-down and drab -- water stains on the walls and ceiling, carpet last replaced probably in the late 80s. Smelled...musty. It takes a while for the plumbing to drain and turning on our bathtub faucet brought up rust flecks.

Pros - people were super friendly. Our room - furniture, bedding, and bathroom - was very clean. Hot water and heater both worked. The free continental breakfast was fine and we heard the attached restaurant was supposed to be good. It's in walking distance of several fast food places and a Walmart. It's one of those old dome-style hotels with a pool, hot tub,(free) arcade, and air hockey in an open area which all seemed in reasonable shape.

The room was $40 which was a pretty good deal for what we got. I would stay there again.

Good value for price.

My daughter and I and two grandkids stayed here last night Sunday January 19th room 110.  First off we were exhausted when we checked in.  The drapes on the window and rod were falling off.  We managed with that but this morning couldn’t take a shower could just get the shower to have a trickle the rest came out the spout.  Needless to say I just washed my face in the shower for a second and by that time the water in the tub was 6 inches deep... not draining properly. So we will never stay here again.....

Don’t stay here

This is a wonderful hotel, the service was excellent, the rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. Their staff is outstanding. Their restaurant is superb, everything we ordered was delicious and freshly cooked.
The present owners are doing an awesome job in updating this hotel. 
We will definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful hotel

We picked this hotel as a potential overnight stop during an exhausting cross-country trip. We found the reviews confusing, but because new owners efforts were mentioned several times, we decided to check it out personally.  We asked to see a room before committing,  specifically describing some of the reviews. The response was not only courteous and understanding, but met with obviously genuine concern. We were shown a very nice room, then were told that it was NOT one of those already renovated. So, here's what we experienced:  

Everyone we met who worked in the hotel in any capacity was friendly, courteous and helpful. Though we were on the first floor and only there for one night, we received to offers to help carry in our luggage,  

Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. When we settled in and really looked closely, we could see that the couch was a bit worn and the room could use a coat of paint, but there was nothing I would call anywhere near unserviceable. The only thing that we would have noticed on our own as not renovated was the bathtub/shower plumbing.  It was a little quirky, but fuctional once we figured out the "combination"!

We have never ordered from room service before (we normally travel by RV), but the prices and variety were both great, so we gave it a try, and were very pleased with our meal. It was fresh, hot, and fast!

The breakfast was a full, hot and very tasty meal: mini cheese omelets, bacon, hash browns, and lots more, another very nice surprise!

Like others we did not use the indoor pool or spa, but these facilities, like everything else we saw at this property, were beautifully maintained an welcoming.  The fully enclosed "dome" also included pool tables, a badminton net, and a seating area for the restaurant currently under construction.

Hope to clear up the confusion

Nice clean room. Wonderful pool and whirlpool. Excellent hot breakfast. Great room service (burgers and onion rings are the best!) There were games for our kids, and even a movie to watch as we sat by the pool.

Great Travel Stop

I have stayed at EconoLodge in Goodland, Kansas a few times.  I have found the rooms to be extremely clean and the beds very comfortable.  The staff are friendly and welcoming and go above and beyond their duties to make you feel comfortable.  Each time I have stayed there are new updates, but I have never been disturbed by the work being done.  The pool area is very roomy and spotless.  The breakfast area was immaculate and well stocked.  They are located with Wal-Mart next door and many eating establishments within walking distance. The price was a fresh surprise and a bargain for my money.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I traveled by bus on one trip and the bus drop off is just across the road.  This is now my home away from home.  The new owners are polishing EconoLodge in Goodland to an entirely new experience.  Way to go!

New and Improved

Clean, quiet, and comfortable room. Wonderful swimming pool. Activities for the kids. Excellent breakfast. The staff was attentive and very helpful. The location, next to a 24 hour Walmart and across the street from several restaurants, is ideal.
