The good: were able to get a place with 3 separate bedrooms each with a bathroom along with a separate one with a shower. It also came with a small living room and kitchen. 
The bad: my twin bed(s) were hard with very hard pillows; the whole place seemed not to have any heat at all! 

Good and Bad

Wish I paid more attention to recent negative reviews: one of my worst motel stays ever. Reserved for two nights but had to leave after one because of excessive noise, but manager insisted on charging full amount. Beware the stringent change and cancellation policies! If you like dated decor (think 1970s), skimpy toiletries, the flimsiest toilet paper you've ever seen, and rude management--this place is for you. Otherwise, stay somewhere else.

Stay Somewhere Else

We spent one night here in Westport. We were looking for inexpensive accommodations and this older motel fit the bill. The room had a kitchenette with a stove, along with the usual coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. There was plenty of hot water from the shower. The bed was comfortable; my only quibble would be the pillows were too thin. Staff were very helpful and the local restaurant recommendation was spot-on. The motel is not within walking distance of the harbor where most of the restaurants are.

A very smelly, nasty, ugly, uncomfortable place to stay. The moment we walked in the room  we knew we made a huge, very costly mistake. absolute no refund, no service and no housekeeping ( out of their own mouth).

Look before you Book

I'm putting this out to my many friends who own property and travel on a regular basis. 
We placed our reservation approximately 5 days prior to our stay (June 16th?).  I was contacted on Saturday the 19th with the information that BOOKING.COM was overbooking reservations to this location and our room had already been taken.
My initial contact (Virginia) explained the situation and said the only available room was $100.00 higher than our reservation. We offered to split the difference as we had important business at a 1/2 acre of property we've purchased in Westport.
BTW , Virginia was cordial and as polite as she could be in this situation and offered to look into this offer. (Ph#831 916-2215)
I was contacted at about 4:05 pm by another associate (Rich?) .  He said they could not honor my offer because the current Managers we're in the process of eviction and would not leave the property prior to our arrival date(?) 
I told him that I was earnestly trying to save them from a bad review because I come from the service industry and truly hate to have to put any business in a bad light.
At this point, (Rich?) began to SWEAR AT ME and told me  to do what I wanted to do!!!! I told him that his abusive language was inappropriate and would make other arrangements at a later date. (The phone number for Rich(?) is 831 620-2104.
I strongly recommend that you talk to one of these two contacts directly prior to any plans to book at this location. (Which I will never entertain again.) There is zero control over their booking management and wouldn't like any of you to experience the same frustration we have.

Verbally abusive staff and zero control of booking management.

Very uncomfortable, and the service was bad and unprofessional. The desk clerk was awesome at first when I check in for two nights.She told me that they would "never" enter my room, because there's no maid service. Ok, not great, but I can deal.

I immediately found a pair of dirty mens underwear behind the bathroom door. The clerk was embarrassed and apologetic, but it made me wonder how well the room was cleaned. Then I found the pop-top from a soda can halfway under the clock radio, and I knew how well.

Next I tried to sleep on the rock-hard bed. Not pleasantly firm, but hard, yet bouncy. Probably just an old old mattress. I hardly slept and woke up with back and hip pain.

So I decided I would probably check out, even though I had paid for a second night. I put all my bags in the car and left, but I didn't turn in the key or speak to any employees. I thought I might go back to rest later.

I came back four hours later to find my room being cleaned. I was shocked -- what happened to NEVER entering my room?! The same desk clerk came running out and said, "We thought you were finished with the room!". I asked why, when I had paid for two nights. I asked twice but she would not explain, just kept giggling, saying, "I'm so sorry!". 

So obviously they went into the room -- but why?! No maid service was offered. Needless to say I DID check out then and there!

Pay a little more and go to a decent motel.

Worst motel ever

Very clean hotel. Vintage boutique feel. Very nice lady manager, super helpful & accommodating. Really quite at night. Peaceful nights sleep. Cute little town to stay in for a quick getaway from the city.

The sweetest woman managing when I arrived. She was so friendly and our room was clean and very warm. It was particularly chilly. Kitchenette was great, and an extra room to hang and dry wetsuits! Definitely coming back!

Best budget inn 

No phones in room. No working wifi for three hours.  Wifi cut out repeatedly.  Had to reinitialize about every 15 minutes after finally getting it to work. Slooooow wifi. No suitcase stand. No closet to hang clothes. Room wiring is two prong wall plugs in most of room; couldn't run laptop except in bath room. No plug in at desk area DISH TV remote worked only intermittently; tv screen kept flashing warning that DISH remote needed new batteries.  Clock radio alarm clock didn't work. Room clean. Weird electric plug in wall heater adjacent to bed.  Luckily didn't need heat.  Hss 2 burner elec stove; didn't use.  Has small refrig.  Didn't useBed was comfortable, though nothing special.  Plenty of blankets, didn't need room heat.

For sleeping, room was quiet.  Town was virtually deserted on Saturday night in off season.

And "only" a hundred bucks a night in the off season.

Funny, when I check in, desk lady sait it was the best room in the pace and her favorite.

If only I could give minus stars / rating.

The owners are friendly; the room, quite basic. The linens and towels were clean. There's a fridge, microwave and two-top stove. There's very little in the way of plates, cutlery and pans so you can't really cook. The sofa in the room should be set by the curb. The mattress was odd - springy, spongey, not sure what to call it. Wifi didn't work well, perhaps as my room was furthest from the office. I did not watch TV but assume it worked. There's no shampoo - just liquid soap at the sink and body wash in the shower. No hairdryer. The motel is very close to the grocery store and a 5 minute drive to the marina area.

Next time, I'll spring for something a bit nicer. Almost $100 for the night here felt about $30 too much.
