I stayed at Mountain View motel for a weekend hunting trip up in the area. Jignesh (the owner) is such an amazing person and treated me very well. He does his best to make sure everything is accommodated for you and to make sure your are comfortable. He even checks to make sure when you will be back so he can turn the heat on in advance (this was something nice to look forward to after hunting all day). This is not a 5 star hotel, it is an old school, quiet, clean, and down to earth place to sleep at for a couple nights. It has the perfect "berkshire" feel to it. I will be staying again in the future.

A great spot for a weekend get-away with a great staff

The hotel is so nice. We were treated very well. The owner was very helpful and made our short stay enjoyable. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We will defiantly stay at this hotel again.

Great Place to stay

Needs a lot of renovation. Wallpaper stained, ceiling paint peeling. Great location and very nice owners. The beds were comfortable, the linens clean and everything else was fine. A little off of the road so not noisy at night.

An older hotel with a nice staff/

Okay so you get a comfortable bed and shower with decent water pressure for around $69 jumping up to $179 on weekends during the busy summer. The rooms are very small. The bathroom door won't open all the way because the toilet gets in the way. The rooms do smell musty as one reviewer has pointed out. The reviewers, 88 of them to date, that gave this place an excellent rating, clearly don't get out much and they are not doing the traveler a service nor the owner of the motel where there are many areas that need improvement. You want excellent? This is not it. You want a place to crash that's adequate somewhat quiet set back from the road with a nice polite owner under $100 during the week, then this will do just fine.

Commensurate With Price

We like privacy, quiet (!) and the easy button at a budget-friendly price. Roll your car into your own spot, walk into your room. Room was very clean and the beds comfortable with extra pillows and great in-room bonus - a microwave, a fridge, good table for a meal for 2 or a game of cards.  Nice, friendly and helpful family owners. Right across from a Mobil station + convenience store, McDonalds and a Price Chopper supermarket.  We’ll be back. 

Exactly what we wanted, great stay

When I first arrived I was the only one there. I thought the motel was abandoned due to the general appearance. However, I did meet the nice people managing the motel in the office. I had no idea what was in store room wise but found that the room, though small and basic was clean and adequate for a short stay and a short drive to Great Barrington. The price was very reasonable in what could be a high priced area. Good chinese restaurant next door.

Basic but adequate

We had a fantastic stay at mountain view motel and even better than we could have expected! Jignesh, the owner, was very friendly and helpful and even asked us to let him know when we are on the way so he can turn on the heat in our room. The room was very clean and well ordered.  We got upgraded to stay in a larger king room, which was very nice and even had the feel of a cabin.  Great proximity to Butternut mountain and lots of nice restaurants and shops in the surrounding areas, perfect place for an overnight ski trip there. Would definitely stay again!

Great place, friendly staff

Good person at desk. Few patrons, mildew smell, iffy TV (remote sometimes didn't control TV even though it was exchanged with an inoperative one promptly after our arrival. 
Room & bedding clean (w very small pillows), refrigerator & AC worked, but room had a mild mildew? smell. Kurig coffee at front desk only.
Marginal for $100 w tax.

Responsive people - old facility needs upgrading

The owner is very kind and gave us solid recommendations for meals in town. We ended up getting a cheaper breakfast at the bagel shop though. This place does not include any breakfast, so factor that in. They do have a coffee machine in their office, but not fresh milk. Cosmetically, the rooms could use some upgrades and little extras. Our door’s top lock was missing. The rug and furniture really need to be replaced. No closet but there is a bar and some hangers. Not many electrical outlets if you have a big crew and lots of devices. Decent location. It was only a few minutes’ drive to the main drag. 

Definitely not a chain hotel

Retro motel that is clean and quiet. The family that owns and operates the motel is very friendly, conscientious and helpful. We stayed at this hotel on our trip to and from Rhode Island and Connecticut. The location was perfect for local sight seeing. We would definitely stay here again!
