The Robertshaw House is peaceful and the Benedictine nuns are gracious hostesses.  The home has been beautifully maintained and provides amazing insight into the lives of the wealthy 100 years ago.  The Sunset Room was very comfortable and the bath included all the amenities of a high-end hotel: plush robe and slippers, toiletries and a deep (original) soaker tub.

Beautiful step back in time

This was, in my opinion, the absolutely perfect place for us to spend Palm Sunday weekend.  Quiet, peaceful, reverent, calming, and comfortable, the Robertshaw Country House B&B left us feeling renewed.  Mother Mary Ann made us feel at home, and everything was truly magnificent.  We can not reccomend this highly enough.

Absolutely Superb!

My mother and I were treated well. Friendly staff. Check in not so easy.  Simple breakfast was fine and satisfying. The four guests rooms are on the second floor. Although we were the only guests in the house, there were folks in and out through the evening/night (which was unsettling) from the retreat house behind the property and in the retreat rooms elsewhere in the large building. Our bathroom was nice but tub was not cleaned as it has used soap etc inside. We used another rooms bathtub. This is a different place to stay and we would go back. Problem is I have called and left many messages, never to have them returned. We stayed there last year but wanted to stay again this year. There is no info anywhere nor on their answering machine stating what their open/closed status is. Very upsetting. Guess we’ll try in 2021! One would think with only four rooms, COVID-19 protocol would be simple enough to adhere to and rooms would be available.

Unusual but Delightful Stay

The  Robertshaw Country House B&B was so charming and peaceful.  Everything from the decor to the food was excellent.  I will only stay there when I return to Greensburg, PA.  The Benedictine Nuns went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.  Thank you for making this trip so memorable for all of us.

My Mom's 80th Birthday

This is a B&B run by the nun of St. Emma Monastery.  It is located on Monastery property.  Breakfast items are placed out and in the fridge the night before and it is self serve - which was fine.  Food was fresh and instructions posted, e.g. how to use the waffle iron.  Nuns are very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable.  We have stayed here a couple of times now and we will be back.  They have nice grounds around Monastery that are great for a short walk.  Close to Greensburg - only a less than $10 Uber ride.

Great, peaceful stay

Spend your time exploring the many decorated rooms, playing a game of chess in the living room, or reading one of the many historic books in the wood paneled library. Breakfast is a treat in the formal dining room. Be sure to take the time to relax. Accommodations are exquisite and private. Beautiful views of the surrounding farmlands and forests. Also would be a fun place to connect with old friends away from what keeps us busy everyday. 

Peaceful stay

A beautiful country estate nestle in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania. This B&B is run by the Benedictine Nuns and every detail of our stay was provided. The rooms are spacious with private baths and the fireplace in our room was a nice bonus. About an hour drive to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, Ohiopyle, Bradock's grave and Fort Necessity.

Epitome of country charm

Very pleasant and charming staff.We were greeted nicely and looked after quite well.
If you are looking for something romantic and nostalgic, you will feel comfortable here. It was a very interesting and unique experience overall. It was like going back in time to 1931 with the bathroom fixtures. Nice grounds you can explore. Very pleasant and bucolic. 
Pros: Very pretty and pastoral. Quiet and reflective. Clean and well kept.
Cons: No housekeeping.No TV'S in the rooms.

If you are looking for something out of the ordinary...

What a wonderful place - inside and out! All friendly, hospitable folks who want to make sure that your stay with them is most enjoyable! The room was very comfortable, we slept well, and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. Thank you so much!

We spent one night here and it was lovely.  It is run by Benedictine nuns, and they run a very clean and very comfortable B and B.  We were in the Sunset room and it was spacious with a good bed and pillows and excellent lights for reading (no TV in the room, but no problem for us).  This room has a very large bathroom.  When we arrived we were given a tour of all the rooms, we were the only guests that night so the rest were available to see.  We also toured the retreat house.  Mother Mary and the volunteers were very welcoming, and gave us some restaurant suggestions for dinner.  While the house is circa 1931, it has modern updates:  you swipe a card to get in the front door and there's wifi.  Our room had its own Keurig, and we were encouraged to have snacks.  The breakfast is in the beautifully set dining room or you can take it on the patio.  The breakfast items -- a wonderful variety -- are there for you to help yourself.  You can even make your own waffles.  Lots of nice fruit options the morning we were there.  And lots of coffee and tea options too thanks to Keurig in the dining area.  We highly recommend this lovely place with lots of local history.
