We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake.  My wife and I can't say enough about the property and service.  Everything about the Lodge and the guest service provided by Bev, Larry and their staff was exceptional.  Accomodations are much more spacious (we were in the Moose Room) than most B&B's we have visited and stayed.   The common areas and grounds overlooking the lake are exceptionally maintained.  Watching the sunset from the rockers on the deck, then sitting around the fire pit was magical and relaxing.  Thank you Bev and Larry for the fabulous experience!  Dennis & Lorraine  

Fabulous Property

The room was great. We had a beautiful view from our deck in the carriage house. The 5 course meal in the restaurant was very good.  The staff was also very friendly and always willing to help out if you needed anything. We had a great time.

Beautiful views and a beautiful room

Great spot to spend a couple of quiet days of hiking and fishing.  Rooms were quiet and comfortable.  Very close to downtown Greenville and Rockwood.  Beautiful views of this stunning lake.  The owners are on site and very accommodating and the GM Amber was excellent, always there to help get what you need.  Will try to get back soon.

Great find

Keep in mind the new owners started in 2021, so any older reviews are obsolete. The room was immaculate, bedding and pillows top quality, delicious breakfast. There's not much close by, but parks a few miles away for walk/hikes. Beautiful views, especially from their back porch.

A beautiful getaway 

The lodge has a nice home-y, deluxe cottage feel. Soothing blues and greens with tasteful lodge-like touches in keeping with a Maine theme. We really enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace in the cozy upholstered chairs.  The bedrooms (we had the Bear and Greenslope rooms) are spacious with luxury sheets and pillows, gas fireplaces and nice tiled bathrooms.  Views of the lake at the back of the property are absolutely stunning and the huge field that is the backyard is frequented by wild turkeys and deer! We did the moose safari one morning where we canoed with a guide.  We saw three moose (2 bulls!) which was very cool. The staff were friendly and very responsive when needed. Breakfasts were good and the one night we had dinner there was fabulous. The food was 5 star amazing. The town is v small with only a few places to eat so be prepared for that.

Beautiful quiet cozy lodge with an amazing view and great staff!

Visited here last week on a weekend snowmobiling trip. The lodge is absolutely adorable and everybody there made a special effort to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Stayed in the Mount Kineo suite in the Carriage House - perfect for a family or two couples - plenty of room to hang in the living room by the cozy stone fireplace. In the summer I bet the deck is lovely to sit on and have a drink. Breakfast is included and there is one rotating item daily, as well as either pancakes or eggs. Shoutout to Amber who was so pleasant and quick to ask if we needed anything. 

Ate dinner here on our last night - Chef Tyler is incredible! The Beef Bourginon was to die for, as was the Bread Pudding for dessert. Try the Moosepolitan cocktail to start. We will definitely be returning to the Lodge, maybe sometime over the summer to enjoy the lake in a new season.

Charming & Restful!

We decided to plan a trip and got lucky by just googling placing in Maine.  When we came across The Moosehead Lake Lodge, we knew that this was the place for us.  The Lodge was beautiful with amazing views!  We felt like we were in another world.  The owners Bev and Larry welcomed us and gave us a lot of great recommendations.  The room we choose to stay in was the Lily Bay room.  It was the perfect room for us.  It had a rustic and romantic feel to it.  Our room was clean, and we were very happy that it was recently updated.  

Breakfast was always exciting...the food was absolutely delicious, and our waitress Amber always made sure we started with a cup of coffee.  She was extremely welcoming, and we really enjoyed our conversations and all of her suggestions.  

Larry made us a fire one night and we were able to enjoy it to ourselves!  Romantic!

Some of the places of our adventures that we would recommend were...

The Moose Safari...that we booked with Bev.  We woke up early and were greeted by our guide.  She provided coffee for the ride and gave us an amazing tour and was very knowledgeable.  Part of our experience was a canoe ride on a private lake which was absolutely breathtaking.  We didn't see a moose, but we spotted a monster 14 point buck in full velvet.  Our guide provided a romantic lunch at the edge of the lake and we were given some alone time to take in the experience.  

Hiking...We were challenged by hiking the Moosehead Mountain Trail and also Mount Kineo.  Awesome hikes and breathtaking views!  Lots of wildlife!

Whitewater Rafting...Northeast Whitewater was definitely an experience.   Great day on the water and lots of excitement.  My future fiancé didn't breakup with me so that was a win!  

Shopping...Spent time in town supporting the local businesses.  We got some great souvenirs.  Our families loved the fudge from the corner store!  Indian Trading Post!  

Favorite Restaurants...The Stress Free Moose!  We ate there multiple times!   Kelly's Landing!  

We are looking forward to coming back again!  Maybe next time will be in the winter to experience some different adventures!

Beautiful and peaceful getaway!

My wife and I loved our stay at the Baxter Suite.  Clean, comfortable, and with a wonderful view of the lake and the fall foliage.  The bed was quite comfy and we loved the oversized tub and the separate shower.  We had dinner there one night and was glad we did, for it was delicious.   Our critiques seem minor.  We sorta wish they kept the red and black checked bedding patterns, for it made the room look very Maine lodge like, versus the more modern style we found at arrival.  The handle to the door to the back deck came off and although I called it to managements attention, it did not get fixed during our stay.  We could still use the door, but you had to be careful.  Breakfasts, although fine, seemed a bit underwhelming after the dinner meal we had the first night. ( Not many blueberries on the crepes or no crust on the quiche).  Overall we were very happy with our stay and will likely be returning next year.

Wonderful and beautiful stay

Owner is rude, no help in understanding the surrounding area - making airline into Bangor, Maine and attempting to make reservations at this lodge was only met with resistance and ignorance.  If you are looking to visit this area for a summer or winter get away - Find other lodging, else you are wasting your time.  Owner knows nothing about travelers who wish to plan to visit the area.  Most internet searches suggest Moosehead Lake as a great location to see the Aurora lights in the US.  Best to avoid the lodge at moosehead lake and their rude staff, try  Northern Lights Motel in Presque Isle, Maine or other lodges near or around Moosehead lake.

Don't Expect any Customer Service from this Establishment (doesn't qualify as a hotel)

We are genuinely puzzled by the mediocre review left by someone who stayed at the lodge a week or two before us.  Are they serious?  Our experience could not have been more different.  We thought the lodge and our room (we stayed in the Moose Room) were just wonderful!  It was every bit as good as advertised.  We were lucky enough to come at the height of fall color, and we wished we could have stayed for the whole week. The views of Moosehead Lake and the surrounding hills are magnificent, which we enjoyed from our room, the dining room, and the living room accessible to all guests.  We booked a Moose Safari through the lodge, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience.  Our guide Mark was an encyclopedia of moose arcana and took us places that we would never found on our own.  This included a canoe trip across remote lake that we had all to ourselves.  (By the way, we spotted four moose.)  Our breakfast each morning was delicious, and the dinner (for which we had to make a reservation) was among the best I've ever had.  Everyone at the lodge, including Bev and the entire staff, made us feel so welcome. If we ever make it back to Moosehead Lake, this is where we will be staying.
