This place is great.  Haven't been here for awhile, but I have heard it is even better than before.  Just booked a reservation for next week and the young man on the phone named Al was extremely patient,  helpful, listened and well I could tell  he was a really cool guy.  So looking forward to my trip up to this beautiful area on The Russian River on my drive from so CA to Humboldt to visit a good friend.

Great customer/client service

For my 30th birthday, we rented out all of the rooms at the Guerneville Lodge and it was the perfect set up for 25 of us to have a great weekend! Carlos and Dorothy were both incredibly hospitable and the property was beautiful. Hope to make it back again sometime soon! It is a great option for some outdoor fun even in December!

Great Space for a Great Weekend

Guerneville Lodge is located next to Russian River and just a few blocks away from the center of Guerneville. The location is awesome and the views are nice from the patio as well. The rooms are reasonable and there is a large common seating area with books. On top of this, they also serve good breakfast in the morning.

One thing perhaps they can improve on is the maintenance of the backyard and the property in general. Overall I was satisfied with my stay at this property.

Nice one night stay next to Russian River 

This is a good place to get away to. There is no TV, a fireplace, kitchen a lack, good hiking trails, some kayaking. And close distance to wineries. It is not for someone want a swimming pool, exercise facility or wonderful restaurants close by. But if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and excellent stay

Not for everyone

As part of the lodge experience you are basically renting out a room within a home. While there is a private bath, I was a bit surprised that I had a tub and not a shower.
I think the cleanliness could’ve been stepped up a notch but I think that’s also likely because it’s a home as opposed to a hotel room. A hotel room would be really easy to clean because it’s the same room type no matter what. They have lots of common space which is lovely however with the pandemic it’s somewhat her to leverage that comfortably. The last two points are partly why they did not get a higher rating however the staff seems quite lovely.

Unique Lodge

The communal log lodge is beautiful. It has an open kitchen, fireplace, piano, small library, long wooden table. There is no staff around at night, they are a phone call away and apparently one staff member is downstairs on-site if needed. Problems: PET FRIENDLY ROOM is SHABBY, $239.00 a night for a shabby old/antique room. It's hard to explain, it is ALMOST quaint antique but also shabby...however, for the price there should be SOMETHING in the room! No T.V., no fridge, microwave or coffee maker in the room. This would be fine as it is very tranquil overlooking the Russian River, but it is OVERPRICED. I appreciate they allow pets in the one room, and the place is very clean, but honestly, we are talking a Full Size bed, old shag rug...simply typical small room/bathroom. There was a BEAUTIFUL fireplace in the lodge, but "somebody would have to drive to Safeway for wood if guest wants a fire." The Hot Tub was nice & clean and overlooking the river, but it was cleaned so late in the day the tub was only at 94 degrees when we used it (cold December night) and it wasn't filled high enough. There is NO coffee maker in room, so we have to get dressed and go into the lodge and make our own coffee. If I have to make a pot of coffee for everyone it would be nice whomever takes the last cup would make another cup...seriously, coffee pot in room at least or have a staff member prepare a couple pots/thermoses for guests. There is a tether ball, cool wooden teeter-totter, weathered ping pong, nice river access/pier, BBQ, huge lawn area. The place is beautiful! But it is best suited for parties/weddings etc...just too overpriced for a small bed and self-service everything. There was no mid-week/winter rate. The next night, we stayed elsewhere in an OCEAN FRONT cottage, ALL in-room amenities, including a fireplace/wood provided and PERSONAL hot tub for the 10% off the usual $239.00 rate (YES, SAME RATE) but with ALL the amenities in-room provided. IF the GUERNEVILLE LODGE charged us a reasonable WINTER rate such as $149 a night, we would be back in a heartbeat, many, many  times the Lodge is clean, beautiful setting and summertime I could understand higher rates, but again with zero in room amenities, not $239.00. The Lodge misses the "personal comfort touches."  Staff should include wood for the fireplace, and at least make sure coffee is made in the morning if we have to leave our room just to get a cup.

Mixed Feelings about this Beautiful Communal Lodge

This is a review of camping only. The Lodge itself,seemed rustic and charming. The problem is the marginal people that are allowed to camp there and wreck havok of the grounds. Our campsites were not designated group campsites,yet there was a family of over 20 people with 5 tents squeezed in one spot. So there is am overuse of the facilities, the trashcans overflowing and the impact of that many extra folks. The most frustrating part was a shared deck,which this one group took over...along with pitbulls and loud blaring music. This is shared with the people also paying over 200 $ a night in the lodge!!! 
  These horrid people,with barbecue ribs permanently lodged in their mouths,alienated all guests. Even if you tried to sit on the deck,an unsupervised child would be running all over you...as you listened to this horrid music. This all could of been prevented if staff would of stepped in. 
Uncivilized? You bet. No management ever intervened,and its a shame that such a physically beautiful property,with such possibilities be like this. The standards and decorum of camping etiquette have been thown to the wayside. No quiet hours enforced!!
   I observed other guests with looks of horror as they observed this freak show on the deck. Unfortunately, some people have to have rules & signage and that way everyone could of got along. The real losers were the paying guests at the lodge.I cannot recommend this for either camping or the lodge until drastic changes are made.

Lack of Supervision Ruined Everything! Do not camp here!!

The Guernville Lodge could have been a decent experience except for the lack of staff overnight. This place was by far The Worst Experience in a hotel in my life!!! There was no staff so it allowed about 30 people party like crazy on the patio until 4am, yes 4am. These Raider Fan types had no consideration for anyone else. Nightmare experience. Stay away!!!!
