I couldn't say enough good things about The Palmwood. Our host, Michael, was great! He helped us with suggestions on things to do for the day as well as made amazing breakfasts with local tropical fruit. There was an issue with one of the neighbors busting the water line to the house and the staff made sure to get it fixed quickly with a lot of updates along the way. The pool is surrounded by beautiful views with the valley on the right and trees full of honey creepers on the left. It was so serene and a great place to just relax. We stayed in the West room and it was perfect! Nice large bathroom and the room had plenty of room and a seating area, though we spent most our time relaxing on the lanai. The waterfall feature was beautiful, though we did get some cane toads that made a lot of noise at night. Michael noticed the first night and then relocated them to another water feature on the property so that they wouldn't disturb us while we tried to sleep. There is a ton of wild life around the property including a very sweet rooster named Burnt Marshmallow and some adorable elusive cats. It's a beautiful home with amazing surroundings and a great host! We would definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing Location, Delicious Food & Great Host

Lovely tranquil oasis with so much care provided by Kelly, your hostess who pampers you and welcomes you and feeds you pure delicious, but healthy breakfasts.
The West room has a wonderful waterfall outside and private hot tub and Lani that are super tranquil. The room is not air conditioned, but was plenty cool thanks to well planned cross breezes. The room is SMALL as noted and has a bench at the bottom of the bed that makes knee bashing on the way to the bathroom probable and the bathroom has a huge sink that not only splashes, but takes up the entire counter top so one has no place for toiletries or even your used hand towel or wash cloth. 
The chickens are lovely  and the gardens gorgeous and the food superb. The outdoor furniture at the pool and on the lanai are not comfortable, but that is a minor issue at such a beautiful spot, but given the relatively steep price, several of the minor things could be rectified to provide perfection because they are so close.

Paradise found at The Palmwood!

Amazing stay at The Palmwood! It was recommended to us by some friends who had stayed here for their honeymoon, so we immediately booked it for ours. The grounds are otherworldly and as beautiful as the picture make it seem. Chef Ina's breakfast everyday was a highlight of our trip. The Palmwood makes it hard to want to leave the B&B and explore Kauai, but Ina did provide a lot of tips of where to go and what places to visit. We stayed in the West Room which is the most secluded of the three, it has its' own hot tub, outdoor shower, pond and waterfall. The room itself was on the smaller side which was a slight challenge but did not take away from the trip at all. The bathroom sink is very large and there is not much room for your toiletries which we found a little odd, also no bathrobes. Mattress, pillows, and sheets were very comfy. Pool/beach towels are provided and changed as requested. We used a beach umbrella that Ina lent us for our afternoon at the beach, and i believe they have other beach needs as well. Already planning a trip back and hoping to bring some friends and family with us next time. 

The Palmwood checks all the luxury boxes! 

It's hard to describe it as anything other than amazing.  It's a beautiful house turned into a b'n'b.  We stayed in the bungalow which is just off the house.  It's off a very quiet road and it was an amazing place to stay.  The accommodations were perfect but for us, the highlight was the daily breakfast we had served to us on our lanai.  We spent two weeks in Kauai, including 4 days at one of the island's fancier resorts and these breakfasts were be far the best meals we had throughout our entire stay.  Ina was so incredibly kind and thoughtful (she made us breakfast sandwiches when we did an early morning boat ride) and was such a great resource for places to go and see.  

Amazing experience 

Luxury accommodations on a private estate located in the green hills of the north shore of Kauai. Sit outside and enjoy the view as you dig into your gourmet, healthy breakfast. Take a dip in the pool overlooking the canyon. Take a short walk to the beach, or a short drive to the nearby town of Kilauea, where excellent restaurants and other resources abound. The Palmwood is a fantastic base from which to explore Hanalei and the north shore of Kauai.

Paradise Found - You Won't Want To Leave!!

We stayed in the bungalow at the Palmwood. It is beautifully decorated in a spartan aesthetic.  The teak flooring and the openness of the shower from eye-level make you feel like you are showering outside.

When we arrived, my husband asked if our car was okay where it was parked on the edge of the drive and Eddi’s husband said, “Yes, that’s a good place.” We parked there the next night.  On our last night, there were 2 cars parked there already so we parked about 25’ in front of our bungalow.  In the morning, our windshield blades were placed perpendicular to the windshield.  When I went to the front door to let Eddi know that we were ready for breakfast, she said that we are not supposed to park in front of the bungalow and that we had been told that.  She would like there to be a full view of the front of the property without being “blemished” by a rental car.  Though not heated, it was not a pleasant encounter.  If you stay here, just ask a lot of questions when you get there so that you don’t break the rules.

The breakfasts were delectable.  The WiFi was spotty.

Parking at the Palmwood

I didn't want to leave. What a special place in my most favorite part of the island. Started our Honeymoon off here and it was absolute perfection. So quiet and serene. Even with other guests occupying the adjacent rooms it was so tranquil. The pool area looks out over gorgeous landscape & the private hot tubs were the best way to end the day after long hikes. I think it is perfectly situated right in the middle of Kapa'a and Princeville/Hanalei Bay areas. Walk a bit to a lovely private and locals only feeling beach. This entire experience felt so different than our time south of the island. If you are debating where to stay-look no further. I searched for a long time before finding Palmwood and with how resort-popular Kauai is, I almost changed our entire itinerary. I wanted something boutique and adult only and as soon as I found Palmwood through various blogs, I knew I had found the only place I wanted to spend our time while in the Northern section of Kauai. Breakfast was perfect and filling every morning & the coffee-rave reviews! Eddi was so sweet and present but not obtrusive, its the kind of spot you go to recharge and relax entirely I slept SO well. Tempted to buy the bamboo pillows and bedding!!! 

We booked the East Room and loved it. I showered outdoors the entire time we were there. The patio space/hot tub isn't as private as the West Room, but honestly we hardly saw the two other couples when we were there so it didn't bother us one bit! I couldn't take enough pictures of the landscaping and pool and the entire property. Perfection. Highly suggest!!!

Perfect Private Oasis

My husband and I recently stayed in the bungalow for a little babymoon getaway. We just wanted to give you our sincerest thank you for such a wonderful stay. We haven't had a trip like that in a long time, and staying at The Palmwood (and enjoying the incredible breakfast/coffee each morning!) was the highlight of our vacation. Our friends recommended staying here and we will make sure to always recommend it to anyone we know traveling to beautiful Kauai. Thanks again for everything Eddi!!

Such a special place!

I have never seen such a beautiful place until my fiance' told me he had booked this B&B for my birthday. We stayed from January 11th - 13th of this year in the 1st floor West Room and I fell in love! Not only was the location secluded but the views are to die for! The host, Eddy was so amazing and that woman can cook...her food was beautiful and delicious...I did not want to leave. Thank you for letting my fiance' use your location for proposing to me on our trip! His original plan was for the beach but weather conditions weren't allowing for that and she was so kind to let him use the backdrop of The Palmwood for him to pop the question and we couldn't have been more pleased! The room was so beautiful, temperpedic bed that you just melt into and beautiful small touches throughout, and the heavenly pool with great views. The hot tub was amazing, the gorgeous pond and the beautiful night lighting was perfectly set. The only issue we had was that the outside shower was not turning on but we didn't have enough time to ask about that. Other than that...it was a picture perfect stay. They offer 3 rooms and they are set up in a way that you barely see the other guests other than eating in the common area. Thank you for having us and we hope to come back again!
