The service was great, very nice people. The new owner seems to take pride in his establishment unlike the previous owner. I noticed during my week there that the maintenance staff was constantly hard at work repairing old stuff and making the motel look much nicer. We stayed the week without 1 issue. Was never noisy or loud. Much better and different than when we stayed when the previous owner was in charge. I even took a liking to the fact that the new owner seems to treat those who live at the motel sort of like a adopted family,taking time to stop and speak to each one. All and all it was a fine stay and id stay again.

A fine week at the Budget Inn

This was the dirtiest motel we have ever stayed in.  The room had not been vacuumed in months.  Even the check in area was filthy.  Repairs to the floorboard, windows, window air conditioner and bathroom needed to be done....years ago!  We got there late for a dinner ( a friend had booked the place for us), so we left our bags on the bed, changed our clothes , and left.   When we came back to the room we decided we couldn't stay there because it was so nasty.  We decided we would just sleep in our car as all the motels within 30 miles were booked up because of the university graduation.  We also did not receive a refund and are still trying.  We will be reporting them to the health department!   And yes, the first picture was from the check in area.

Unbelievably dirty

Walking into the room...it seemed like a normal “you get what you pay for”. That was fine. One complaint was no outlets in bathroom. Anyway, putting that aside...we kept hearing beeping. We dismissed it, left & came back after 11pm. The beeping continued. I called front desk and he told me it was our smoke detector and to take out the batteries. Nope, I told him it wasn’t bc ours already had the battery out. You know...safety first. We had to sleep all night with the beeping. Upon checkout, I tried to explain and was just told we were noisy. I just gave up then because we weren’t noisy and the lady had no clue. Bright side: sheets were clean but next time I will gladly pay more to stay somewhere else.

The price was good, everything worked, and the bed was decent, and I had T.V. reception. Management was a little stingy with towels. You only get one  towel and wash cloth per night, or some chicanery. And they do not offer daily maid service. Close to down town, felt safe staying here. Would I stay here again ? Maybe, maybe not.

For the price, it's a good deal.

Paying $ 101 (taxes included) with senior discount for a very mediocre room, a very old TV set, terrible coffee is definitely was not what I expected at a Budget Inn in the middle of Virginia. To me, it is unacceptable.

Very expensive for a Budget Inn

Old, Shabby, small room we paid $150 for since it was only room available for JMU parents' weekend. Not worth $15/night. DO NOT STA Y HERE!!  A drunk came pounding on our door at 12;30 am asking to come in. finally he went away (after we told him repeatedly he had the wrong room), only to return about 15 minutes later and  resume pounding on and yelling through the door.  Door to our room ,right off main road, had only one flimsy lock and had no peephole, so it was a sleepless night. I gently pulled open the curtain in the morning and the entire curtain fell off. Sheets weren't disgusting and room wasn't unclean. AC worked but sounded like darth vader.
