John Holcomb and his family were a delight! Unfortunately, they are dealing with the loss of Mrs. Holcomb... John's mother and true Holcomb House host. So, I will try to objectively review our stay, given the fact that John is actively trying to sell the property.
The location is the strongest point... within a short ten minute walk of downtown Healdsburg. There is free Wi-fi and parking on the street. The house was interesting but living quarters a bit compact. There was no breakfast... just coffee/tea and some Costco breakfast snacks, like biscotti and brownie bites. John did the best he could, given the circumstances. However, I think a Bed & BREAKFAST without the BREAKFAST could have been discounted. Under "normal conditions". it appears there are only two 'rent-able rooms'.  I think the room was over-priced.
Again, I'm not sure this is a totally fair review, since the property was being managed under a stressful situation and will soon have new ownership. 
Best of luck to John Holcomb and family. I think he did about as good as can be expected!

Tough to Review, since it's being sold!

My husband and I recently stayed at this cozy little retreat the second weekend of August, 2016 for Jazz at Rodney Strong Winery celebrating our 48th anniversary.  This establishment is within walking distance of downtown Healdsburg, and less than 10 minutes from some of the most popular wineries in the area.  Two bedroom, two bath with a front porch and back deck.  We took the back bedroom off the deck, with the bathroom being just the other side of the kitchen. The front bedroom has it's own bathroom. Flat screen TV's in both rooms.  Ms. Dina doesn't serve breakfast any longer, but she has coffee and a little "something" to get your day started. Should you need suggestions for dining, she knows exactly where to send you. She's got one cat "Squirt" so quiet you hardly know he's there.  I have cat allergies, Squirt didn't bother me at all. Rates this time of year in the Healdsburg area are to say the least "painful".  Ms. Dina's rates are very, very reasonable. This establishment is so cozy with an attention to detail, right down to the big fat wrapped bar of Ivory Soap in your bathroom.  We plan to visit again next year. Enjoy your visit.

Cozy & Convenient

My wife and I spent 4 very relaxing days in Sonoma Valley at the Holcomb House. We enjoyed our stay. I agree with parts of the other two reviews by Rick and banway. But not everything. Overall, my wife and I had a great stay and the owner, Dina is fantastic. Dina is a long-time resident of the town...a true "local" with good recommendations for both "local" joints and "tourist-trendy" places. Healdsburg is a nice mix of both worlds. We liked getting the "hometown" feel and we would return. The location of the house is also excellent as you can walk to anything in downtown Healdsburg from here. It is in a residential part of town. The "Plaza" is only a few minute walk from the house. Great restaurants and shops.  Parking is on-street, safe, and plentiful. The house is in a very quiet part of town. Our room had its own bath. The room was very clean and tidy. I think the other room has its own bath as well but I'm not sure. You may need to walk through the kitchen to get to that bath, but it is NOT a shared bath. The rate is VERY reasonable. Rick's review was partially correct about cats. If you have cat allergies this is not the place for you as the owner has a house cat and a feeds a few outside cats from the neighborhood. I saw this as warm-hearted and not an issue, but I can see where a non-cat-lover or somebody with allergies would not want to stay here. There is no issue with cats in the guest room, but they are in the shared spaces of the house. There were no issues with cat cleanliness either, the house and shared spaces were very clean. This is definitely NOT the cat-lady house of horrors Rich described...
We had no issues with opening the windows for a nice breeze and there was a ceiling fan, so the room was very comfortable. 
I would definitely recommend the house for a reasonably priced stay with a gracious host. Great access to downtown Healdsburg and an excellent home base for a wine country vacation. Definitely not luxurious, but very clean, homey and cozy. I would not recommend this for an intimate weekend as the house is small and our room was right next to the owner's bedroom. It wasn't a problem at all, but I'm not sure this is the ideal "honeymoon night" house! Also, credit cards are not accepted and no breakfast is served. That is fair for the price, but some of the website descriptions don't make this clear. For the price, it is worth it to write a check for the room fee and go out for breakfast, especially with so many great breakfast places in town (definitely check out Adel's Diner for a hearty breakfast!).
The front porch is great for sipping some wine. The back deck looked really nice too, but we spent our time out front on the porch. 
Overall, we recommend the house. Enjoy. Thanks to you for reading this and to Dina for being a great hostess for the week.

Very Nice Stay

Just back from a long weekend in Healdsburg - great natural beauty, tremendous restaurants and a diverse selection of wineries.  And then there was Holcomb House, a small (operative word - SMALL) B&B conveniently located within walking of the downtown square.  If privacy or intimacy is what you are looking for - be aware - as the two small but tidy and clean guestrooms sit right adjacent to the owner's bedroom and are right off the living/dining room area.  While the house and rooms are clean, there is a "stuffy" smell permeating the inn - probably more likely the result of the owner's disinclination to open any windows - despite the often dry and beautiful air inherent in the local climate.  And then there are the cats - lots of cats - everywhere inside and out - many strays and a few with access to the house.  For those guests with cat allergies (i.e. my wife), this is the ultimate nightmare - although the guestrooms seemed to be "cat-free", the main part of the house is not.  The website does not clearly disclose this fact, and it should in fact make it crystal clear.  On the positive side, the innkeeper and her associate do make a great effort to make their guests comfortable and do serve a lovely breakfast each morning.  The beds in the guestroom, while modest, are quite comfortable, and the bathrooms are adequate, if not fancy.  The house does have a great front porch and a private deck in the back - both fully accessible to guests.  A disaster? No, but disappointing, and if cats and a lack of privacy are a problem for you, I'd look at other lodging alternatives.

A disappointing B&B to an otherwise fabulous weekend

I had a wonderful experience here, the innkeeper Claudeana is wonderful company along with her associate Lucy. The house is impeccably clean with a relaxing patio out back. I highly recommend this B&B as it is cozy, quaint, and in the heart of Healdsburg. Mind you this isn't a hotel, so privacy is much like you would have if you stayed with a friend or family. We will be coming back!
