We have owned a timeshare week (Thanksgiving week) there for at least 35 years.   When we go, our condo looks almost like it did when we bought into it; the furniture, etc. is always in great condition. We have always loved Helen and Alpine Crest.  We have also exchanged it into places we couldn't have afforded had we not had it. Our kids - now adults - grew up there and now our grand kids are on their way too.  Sorry about the experiences of the others; you're supposed to enjoy vacations.

Our Home Timeshare Resort

Great stay overall. Vacuuming under the bed and dusting here and there before guests arrive will help bump rating to Excellent. Frying pan needs to be replaced. Debris and dirt in parking area and under the stairs need to be cleared out. Large indoor and heated swimming pool saved the day.  It’s like visiting Santa’s cabin in the woods. View is beautiful. 😍

Our accommodations are always clean and well furnished.  The amenities need maintenance and were not open or in poor condition.  We usually just stay at the resort and walk down to town for activities.  Since parking usually requires payments, it's wonderful to walk instead of drive.

Family vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Alpine Crest Resort.  It is very rustic. In need of repairs in some places.  The grounds were well maintained.  The staff was very pleasant.  We enjoyed the indoor pool, the activity center for playing pool and the gym equipment in the work out room.  Nice walk to the main streets of Helen.

Quaint resort

This was a beautiful resort and very comfortable! Staff was super friendly and went out of their way to let us check in early. We had a great time! My only complaint is we couldn't stay longer then one night. 

Wonderful stay

This place is quaint and reasonably clean with a nice view. It’s horribly dated, however. The lodges are in moderate disrepair. Not to mention, I found 2-3 dead roaches on the floor upon arrival. I had to kill a live roach that was on the kitchen counter. Thankfully, the beds and bathrooms were clean and didn’t appear to have any bugs. It’s not a terrible place to stay if you’re on a budget and aren’t afraid of a few roaches. 

Decent Stay Besides the Roaches

The condo itself was very clean, and all the staff was very friendly.  With that being said, we felt like that we had gone back in time.  This place has not been updated in a very, very long time.  The dishwasher was broken, The stove worked, but not well.  Ther furniture needed updating and there was virtually no wifi.  Will not stay there again

Take me back to 1980

Resort is very dated. Rooms were clean, but old, tile floor in bathroom very slippery if wet. No grab bars in showers, main bath, very small shower, no pressure. 2nd bath, shower faucet broke, only ran 1/2 way. Nice to have laundry in unit. No help, no security, no outdoor pool, no waterslides, no fishing. No help with local to do. One person can not run this facility. Late for ck-in and not available at ck-out. Update, get staff & security or close until you can open as advertised.

GA Visit

Helen, Ga. is really a great place to visit! In vacation season very crowded (summer). All in all a good family vacation spot! Plenty to do in town, close to visit other towns such as Dahlonega, Ga. sight of an American GOLD RUSH.

A Trip to Helen and Gone

This resort is very clean, but needs some serious refurbishing and landscape maintenance.  Carpet is stained and has cigarette burns. Furniture is worn and some is wobbly. Dead ivy crawls up outside walls. Grassy areas are mostly mowed weeds.  The people are very nice and the setting is gorgeous and not far from the town of Helen.
